Ahhhhh, nice back, but Jonathan, I really wanted to check out your shapely bum!

In a rush, I use Newman's Own Balsamic & Vinegarette dressing. It's very good. I also make a good sauce with orange juice concentrate (don't dilute with water!) & soy sauce -- probably about 1/4 cup soy sauce mixed with a tablespoon or so of the oj concentrate. BTW, if you add rice, chill it first. That one trick has made the biggest difference in my stir fry!

Marla is adorable! I especially love this pic!!

Welcome Barbara! Looking forward to checking out your recipes.

Raven, I think you should try the stuff linked to below. I have only mixed it with liquid to make a sauce, but I don't know why you couldn't use the powder in place of the parm stuff. I gotta tell you, I love this stuff. It has become my fave cheeze sauce. ~slurp! viewtopic.php?t=2900

How do you prepare your eggs? I'll bet we can come up with great vegan alternatives.

Guess the Goldilocks Hummer wasn't selling so well. Had to beef up the image.

I have never liked fruit. Or veggies, although I've grown to like my veggies. I grew up on Hostess. No shit. I ate so much sugar as a kid. So, I'm trying a fruit a day program. I think in the past I've overwhelmed myself by trying to eat 2-3 pieces of fruit a day. I think I can tackle 1 piece a day. For today I have a fresh nectarine. -
The King of Leg Exercises is lunges or squats?
CrispyQ replied to compassionategirl's topic in Bodybuilding/Strength Training
Kathryn, I really like the static lunges! -
The Dill Pickle Chip Dip in How It All Vegan is fantastic with potato chips! It is tofu based. I suggest making it without the maple syrup. The Lay's Baked chips are not too bad, especially if you are going to dip but I prefer to have chips as a treat so when I do eat them I go for the locally made full fat chips. They may be full fat, but they have way fewer ingredients than the baked Lay's.!

Chips & dip. An all time fave. And if there is no dip, no worry. Plain chips are great, too!

Wonder of wonders! A fabulouso used book store recently opened near where I live. They have a great selection of used books & a few new titles, too. They have enough veg cookbooks to have a three shelf section. I'm going there again tomorrow & this time I have some books to trade in. Summer reading: The People's Business: Controlling Corporations and Restoring Democracy by Drutman & Cray > The authors are both affiliated with the Citzen Works Corporate Reform Commission. (www.citizenworks.org) The book discusses the runaway power of corporations & ways We the People can reign in these behemoths. It is an excellent companion book to Thom Hartmann's "Unequal Protection" & David Korten's "When Corporations Rule the World." It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis > This fictional story was published in 1935. It is about the rise of a President who becomes a dictator to save the nation from welfare cheats, sex, crime & a liberal press. The parallels between the story & what is happening now are interesting. It has been almost a sci-fi type of read. The Gate to Women's Country by Sheri Tepper > A sci-fi tale about women & men in a sort of post-apocalyptic world. This story is a bit more of an uplifting read than "The Handmaid's Tale" which I also recently re-read. The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan > Everyone should read this book. SQL Queries for Mere Mortals by Hernandez & Viescas > Work related, but good.
