So I guess I'm supposed to tell a little about myself... I'm 43 years old, been vegetarian for about a year now, and just began a serious weight training program about 5 weeks ago. I'm came here because I wanted to pick up some training tips and advice since I'm pretty much going it alone. I have lifted in the past, but never really stuck with it. I have a new attitude, new body (lost 150 lbs) and have been active and doing a lot of cardio and sculpt type work, along with yoga, for the past 3-1/2 years. I tend to build muscle relatively easily - my goals are to shape and define rather than simply build bulk. I am also working on strength, as my bulk belies my str…

Hi guys! I'm a newer vegan (been a vegan for a little less than a year now and a vegetarian about 2 years before that). Anyway, I just started lifting about two months ago and I love it! I came on here earlier tonight to find out what vegan protein shakes are the best and bought 2 lbs of hemp protein and 2 lbs of pea protein. Anyway, I hope to learn some more things on here. This is a very interesting forum.

Hello From Massachusetts! I have been "lurking" on this site for quite a while now and finally decided it was time to register and say hello. I have been vegan for two years (this month is my veganniversary) and last month I quit smoking and joined a gym. I am working with a personal trainer who I love -- she royally kicks my butt and it's awesome: I've never felt better in my life. I hope to bulk up my scrawny frame and continue to feel and look better. It was actually a member on this site, whose photos I saw, that inspired me to take this step. I looked at him and said "I want a body like THAT!" Personally, I am 29, Buddhist, happily partnered, a bookworm, a …

Hi All, My name is Adrienne. I am 29 year-old bodybuilder, triathlete (ok, so I did ONE), Software Engineer, part-time fitness trainer and soon-to-be Specialist in Performance Nutrition. I am pretty sure I am on my way to Veganhood. A few months ago, I cut most animal protein. I have been dairy- and gluten-free for awhile because my digestive system hates it. The remaining animal products (occasional fish, yogurt, cheese, eggs) I could do without.. I just haven't made that final leap yet. I am pretty much the only one of my kind around here, so it will be nice to network with the like-minded. So, hi! ~ Adrienne

Hello everyone, I just joined the site and I'm considering the option of vegan bodybuilding. I've been a vegan for around 8 years now and I love it. My workout schedule is on and off but I do enjoy spontaneous excersize. Weights and calesthenics are my favorites whenever I put my mind to it. Gald to see that there's a community out there that likes the healthy vegan lifestyle. Peace! Mr. Kool a.k.a Koolvedge

I'm Tiggerwoos from the UK. I live with my partner, 2 border collies, 4 cats, a bunny and 3 fish, all rescue and all mad. I've been vegan since new year after being veggie 9 months and in my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, doing cardio, swimming, yoga and walking. I am also training to be a naturopath and reiki master and help out at a local rabbit rescue. Look forward to learning, reading and posting here. Nice to meet you all Clare

Hello, I am new to the site and very excited about getting fitness/nutrition tips from other vegans. I am 26 years old, and have been vegetarian since age 11. The first few years were a little on and off, but I have not eaten meat at all since age 16. A little over a year ago, I started going vegan. I am still improving on removing all animal products from my life, and feel better and better every day. I am also getting back into lifting/routine fitness. I swam competitively most of my life, and started lifting around age 15 to help with swimming. I lifted consistantly though age 18 and since have been more on/off. I still enjoy swimming, as well as walking…

Hi all Been lurking around this site for ages so I thought it was about time I joined up. I'm from Derby, a small city in central England. I've been training for a couple of years now; vegan almost 10 years. Currently weighing in at 225 pounds (recently finished bulking so need to shift a little lard over the next few months!) & was around 160 when I went vegan. I guess my training is geared more towards strength than bodybuilding. I don't train in true powerlifting style due to a back/hip problem, but do my best.

back in the iron game after a long layoff. been training hard for about five months now. i like to think about training, talk about training, exchange ideas about training--almost as much as i like training itself! lifting weights is all about mind over metal. if you master your mind, there's nothing in this world that you can't do.

My hubby was right, this really IS a great site! I just wanted to introduce myself - I'm Kristy and I've been vegan for almost a whole year! This is one of the best things I've ever done - for animals, for the earth, for myself - I'm very proud of it! I'm excited to have the opportunity to pick the brains of like-minded folk, it's going to be nice not to feel like the odd-gal out for a change! Alittle about me - recently married and loving it, I've recently started going back to a formal yoga class after a long hiatus with the occassional self-instruction (I'm just not disciplined enough to do a good job on my own!), and I love snowboarding. It'll be nice to meet…

I want to say hello & introduce myself. I'm a vegetarian with a goal of eliminating all animal products from my diet. I'm here to gain knowledge & hopefully make friends along the way.

I am new here and I come from Finland. I am 30 years old hippie-bouncer. I am mostly vegan, I only use milk products a little. I have been bodybuilding (or "bodybuilding") for several years and I used to trained martial arts for about 10 years. For example aikido, escrima, krav maga, no holds barred and brazilian ju-jutsu. But right now my "number one" is bodybuilding. I love animals and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I think I will be post many animal-pics here.

Hi all! I'm a Vegan Vegan! Been here in Vegas for the past 20 years and I must say I'm enjoying the site so far and wish I had known about this site years ago! Kinda long so bear with me. I must say I'm new to raw food and I'm not a die hard vegan/vegetarian or bodybuilder. To give you a little background I dabbled in vegetarianism back when I was 14...back when I didn't have anyone to guide me and when I only thought salads and baked potatoes constituted vegetarianism. I'm not going to blame that totally on my weight gain, but it did mess up my metabolism pretty bad and when I started getting sick because I wasn't eating enough and not the right things I had to en…

Just joined on here because I got tired of the other bodybuilding boards blatant biasts (wow that's quite the aliteration) towards non meat eating lifters. It's great to see some other lifters who don't have the old school thought process. Anyways, a little about me; I'm 24, well in a few weeks, I have been Veg for a year now (yeah I'm still a newbie), and have been lifting for roughly 10 years. I was certified by ACE some 6 years ago, and need to get re certed again. Anyways, ever since going Veg my workouts have been incredible, my energy is out of this world, I recover like I'm indestructible, and it's never been easier to keep fat off. I'll never understand wh…

Hello, just joined up looking for some cross training tips. I have been a vegan less than a year, but been a recreational and racing cyclist for almost 20 years. Looking forward to getting some great info and seeing what kind of performance results I can get with a vegan diet.

Hey peoples, just want to be bold and introduce myself...get the first impression off on the right foot. It's all about the entrance tho isn't it...I've checked out the site a few times and am very impressed with y'alls. Happy to make your acquaintance and looking forward to making some friends! ...if anyone can help with avatars and photos and stuff, I had a rough time getting it to go, any thoughts are appreciated. I'm confused as to the black bar under mine and how to fix it. I dunno what that light is over my head either, halo maybe? Yeah right...

Implanted from Canada, I am a recent Vegan, and so glad to have found this site I was beginning to think that I was alone. I hope to get back into shape and keep the Vegan lifestyle. I have been told recently that it is imposible to be healthy by being both active and living vegetarian/Vegan lifestyle. And also that Soy milk is poison. It's getting tiring.... This morning, a well known personal trainer told me "I don't do Vegetarians or Vegans in my business" I just about wanted to cry... I was just looking for a personal trainer to help me I want to get help in keeping my focus and wanted to know if there are any who wish to share meal plans. I am confused. I have b…

Two years ago, I'd have though you were all crazy new-age tree-huggers, but I've since been enlightened, and now I know this is the place where I belong. Me: Brandon, 29, North Carolina, Computer programer. I've been without meat for probably 2 months, and without milk and eggs for eight days now. Giving up dairy was harder because it was so omnipresent in my diet, but after the first few days of shock, I've grown used to working around milk/butter/sour cream/ranch dressing, and I feel better for it. I initially found this site (by a link from what's now stevepavlina.com) a couple of years ago. Just recently, we moved into a new house, and I've created my "Fortres…

Hello! This site is quite inspiring. I've been a vegan for well over a decade, but I am new to the world of body building. I am a 29 year old dude from Canada, eh? Very passionate about animals (but not in a sexual way), and about our responsibilities towards them. Other passions include music (particularly metal, hardcore and prog rock), guitar playing, technology (particularly computer related tech) and books (biography, fantasy, horror, politics, whatever). I keep being told by carnivorous beefcakes that I won't get as big as they are if I don't start eating corpses too. I needed to see other vegans bulking up to pick up the morale. Its also great to see the advice…

Hi all- This site is great. I am going to be sapping y'all for all the info I can to make my workouts better. I am an avid mt biker and also enjoy snowboarding, trail running, swimming (though I'm not good at it), and whatever other sports are being played. Hoping to get into "adventuring" later this year. I've been vegan for just under a year (thanks to my gorgeous wife), and veggie for many many years b4 that. I wasn't prepared for how much healthier I would feel being vegan! Nor was I prepared for how easy it would be learn how to eat and cook vegan. Thanks for having me!!!
