Hi all! I'm a Vegan Vegan! Been here in Vegas for the past 20 years and I must say I'm enjoying the site so far and wish I had known about this site years ago! Kinda long so bear with me. I must say I'm new to raw food and I'm not a die hard vegan/vegetarian or bodybuilder. To give you a little background I dabbled in vegetarianism back when I was 14...back when I didn't have anyone to guide me and when I only thought salads and baked potatoes constituted vegetarianism. I'm not going to blame that totally on my weight gain, but it did mess up my metabolism pretty bad and when I started getting sick because I wasn't eating enough and not the right things I had to en…

Two years ago, I'd have though you were all crazy new-age tree-huggers, but I've since been enlightened, and now I know this is the place where I belong. Me: Brandon, 29, North Carolina, Computer programer. I've been without meat for probably 2 months, and without milk and eggs for eight days now. Giving up dairy was harder because it was so omnipresent in my diet, but after the first few days of shock, I've grown used to working around milk/butter/sour cream/ranch dressing, and I feel better for it. I initially found this site (by a link from what's now stevepavlina.com) a couple of years ago. Just recently, we moved into a new house, and I've created my "Fortres…

Just joined on here because I got tired of the other bodybuilding boards blatant biasts (wow that's quite the aliteration) towards non meat eating lifters. It's great to see some other lifters who don't have the old school thought process. Anyways, a little about me; I'm 24, well in a few weeks, I have been Veg for a year now (yeah I'm still a newbie), and have been lifting for roughly 10 years. I was certified by ACE some 6 years ago, and need to get re certed again. Anyways, ever since going Veg my workouts have been incredible, my energy is out of this world, I recover like I'm indestructible, and it's never been easier to keep fat off. I'll never understand wh…

Hello! This site is quite inspiring. I've been a vegan for well over a decade, but I am new to the world of body building. I am a 29 year old dude from Canada, eh? Very passionate about animals (but not in a sexual way), and about our responsibilities towards them. Other passions include music (particularly metal, hardcore and prog rock), guitar playing, technology (particularly computer related tech) and books (biography, fantasy, horror, politics, whatever). I keep being told by carnivorous beefcakes that I won't get as big as they are if I don't start eating corpses too. I needed to see other vegans bulking up to pick up the morale. Its also great to see the advice…

I am new here and I come from Finland. I am 30 years old hippie-bouncer. I am mostly vegan, I only use milk products a little. I have been bodybuilding (or "bodybuilding") for several years and I used to trained martial arts for about 10 years. For example aikido, escrima, krav maga, no holds barred and brazilian ju-jutsu. But right now my "number one" is bodybuilding. I love animals and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I think I will be post many animal-pics here.

Implanted from Canada, I am a recent Vegan, and so glad to have found this site I was beginning to think that I was alone. I hope to get back into shape and keep the Vegan lifestyle. I have been told recently that it is imposible to be healthy by being both active and living vegetarian/Vegan lifestyle. And also that Soy milk is poison. It's getting tiring.... This morning, a well known personal trainer told me "I don't do Vegetarians or Vegans in my business" I just about wanted to cry... I was just looking for a personal trainer to help me I want to get help in keeping my focus and wanted to know if there are any who wish to share meal plans. I am confused. I have b…

Hey peoples, just want to be bold and introduce myself...get the first impression off on the right foot. It's all about the entrance tho isn't it...I've checked out the site a few times and am very impressed with y'alls. Happy to make your acquaintance and looking forward to making some friends! ...if anyone can help with avatars and photos and stuff, I had a rough time getting it to go, any thoughts are appreciated. I'm confused as to the black bar under mine and how to fix it. I dunno what that light is over my head either, halo maybe? Yeah right...

Hi, my names Brian.. obviously new to form. Im recent conversion (past 2 yrs), and am very happy to have discovered this site for advice on the aspects of nutrition/supplementation and changes in diet etc. I work with animals so I suppose its purely a moral conversion to be precise. Sports was a big issue for me, as I lost a little weight in the initial changes of diet. look forward to lots of advice, thanks in advance.

I don't know what to say really... I'm bodybuilding for about a month. Keep falling off the vegan wagon due to eating dairy products I don't know how to stop as ice-cream tastes too great. Have finally become a vegan again about 2 days ago. More later.

Hey everyone, I'm new. My name's Dylan and I live in Northern California. I've only been a vegan for a few months although it seems like longer. And I've been a vegetarian for seven years (wow, that long?). When I was eight my dad brought home some chinese food that had duck in it. I thought that ducks were cool and didn't want to contribute to their being killed, so I made an excuse why I didn't want any. Then I started trying to eat less meat in general because I came to the conclusion that no animal deserved to die for me to eat. After a few months I just told my parents I was vegetarian because I knew I was comitted by then and I stopped eating meat all together.…

Greetings All... Thought I better post an intro before I get too carried away and start posting... I am from Perth, which is the capital city of, Western Australia. I have been a vegetarian for a number of years, this year deciding I would take on a vegan diet entirely. My main fitness regime has been in martial arts which I have done for a number of years, although I took an 18 month break, but have recently got back on the mat and decided to try a new style/s and take up Kenpo and MMA. I have also recently got into the gym with, what I am hoping will stay, a more a motivated approach. So I am hoping to begin reaping those benefits over the next few months. …

Hi everyone! My name's Courtney and I'm new to the forum. I recently moved to Cincinnati from Dallas and am still feeling a bit out of my element - agghh! I have no worries though, I adapt easily to new places and LOVE meeting new people, so it's all good. It's been a challenge figuring out where to find the best fresh organics, as well as vegan products, and am still in search of a great yoga studio, but I'm figuring it out as I go. I previously taught yoga in Dallas and I'm really excited about finding my niche up here! So wish me luck - here goes nothing!

Hi everyone! I've been looking around this forum for a while, and decided to finally join So...yeah... Basically, over the summer I was lifting weights every other day, swimming for an hour and other cardios for 30ish minutes. After school started, I stopped... Now I have water polo 10 hours a week (2 hours a day Mon-Fri) and I run for 30 min. in the morning. I'm pretty sure my straighth hasn't gone DOWN, but I do know that I could be stronger, espicially as I am one of the smallest kids on my team, and we compete at National/International level. I would also like to gain MUSCLE weight (I weigh 95-105 lbs., or 43kg-47kg). I'm about 5ish feet tall. Basically, I…

How goes it everyone, I joined like 4 days ago and have been reading all the posts, I'm happy to have found a support network for vegans who are into fitness/bodybuilding. I'm 22, 5' 10" 220 lbs. trying to go from beer gut to ripped. I've been a vegetarian for about four or five years, and a vegan for less than a month, which is also the length of time I've been going to the gym. So I guess you could say I'm new to the practice of personal fitness, but it's something i've always wanted to do, and now that i am i feel like i've got "the bug", and wondering why I hadn't started sooner. So I look forward talking to you all and soon posting in the achievements thread -Ad vit…
