How many body builders does it take to change a lightbulb? Four. One to actually change the lightbulb, and three to watch and say "Dude, you look huge!" Okay, so it's not really that funny...

Does anyone have any research on how a vegan diet is healthier than that of a meat eating person? And I mean real scientific research, not shallow like in the vegetarian starter kit from PETA. It could really help me convincing people to go vegan. And research preferably in PDF

I am reading a PETA magazine, it says each vegetarian saves an acre of trees every year. Can someone explain this? I don't get how PETA thinks, becouse when one person doesn't eat meat that amount of meat is ordered by someone else or trown away after the expiration date. I know that a vegetarian isn't contributing money to meat companies, but how is a vegetarian saving an acre of trees? It is not like the meat companies are going to produce less meat becouse one person is vegetarian, or is it?

happened at work today. i have just started a new job at real foods (veggie, bar fish oil, wholefood shop) in edinburgh and today was my second day. yesterday was funny because i had about 4 or 5 people come up to me and ask me if i was really vegan (i was wearing my vegan power vest) - conversation going something along the lines of: " - are you really vegan? - yes - really? - yes - really - yes - do you supplement - no - really? - no - really?! " you get the idea! so today i was wearing the same vest and a woman came up to me and asked me what i lifted. strange question to come from someone in her 60's. i told her and she was impressed. so th…

Yesterday we got a new puppy, our neighbors have some friends that breed miniature pomeranians, which they really need to stop they have problems with the males having cleft palattes, so anyways, thats the situation with this little guy. They were gonna put him down so we took him, he seems alright, except when he sneezes food comes out of his nose. He's so adorable. I couldn't figure out how to post the photo on here so heres the link! http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gimp6336/detail?.dir=b508&.dnm=6281.jpg&.src=ph http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gimp6336/detail?.dir=b508&.dnm=6281.jpg&.src=ph

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/08/30/katrina/index.html That is some scary, scary shit. I can't tell you how glad I am that I no longer live in NO, or how much, right this moment, I wish my ex-wife didn't still live nearby.

God in heaven WHAT A MOVIE! Has anybody seen it too?! I would love to read and/or discuss about this movie. It is one of the most brutal ones (if not the most brutal one) I have ever seen! But it is so good! I haven't read much about it before I saw it and that was good so. It was so so full of eeehhhm tension? Oh my english. Well, very very... interesting. More than intersting... you know what I mean I was thrilled! Some awesome lines and over all a very different and exciting movie! The characteres are pretty deap and unique, you know what they are thinking and that makes it even more interesting. Allthough at the beginning I wasn't so convinced about the id…

Articles for main website: I’ve mentioned this a few times in a couple of posts: I’d like to extract some of the articles that have been posted on the forum and add them to the main www.veganbodybuilding.com website as well. Many people explore just the main website and don’t always search through the forum, and we have some great articles I think more people should read. Like most of you, I’ve somewhat neglected the “main” site and have just used the forum for the past few months. I just added Daywalker’s feature on the front page of the site and also added a new sample nutrition program, and I want so spend the next couple of weeks dedicating more time to the ma…

What is your specialty? We all have different talents and things that we specialize in. I'm curious to know what each of you specialize in? It could be your job, a talent, something unique about yourself, etc. I started thinking of this recently because we have a few people who have mentioned some unique things about themselves recently and it was very interesting to me. For example: Kollision is a Certified Personal Trainer Richard is an Illustrator Daywalker is a Doctor, right? or soon to be a doctor? Compassionategirl is a awesome writer and animal rights activist I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, I perform stand-up comedy, and I worked with children or 1…

I was wondering if anyone knows where high quality purses, shoes, etc can be bought that are vegan, or specific designers/brands? I've realized that much more difficult for me than eating vegan is shopping for these sorts of items! I know Stella McCartney is vegan, but I can't realistically afford anything by her, and wouldn't even know where to get it. I used to by a lot of Coach products, if that gives you an idea of my price range. I'm fanatical about shoes and purses/wallets....I just need to know how to convert my collection from leather to not! Thanks everyone

i am curious if anyone here has other vegans/vegetarians in their family? this leads to other questions. if yes, did you influence them, or did they influence you? if no, do they give you a hard time, or are they supportive? and how did they react when you told them you were giving up meat? as for me, i am the only one in my family. sometimes i feel like the only one in my whole town! but i know there are a few others. my family reacted mostly with concern. they were afraid i would get sick because i would not have enough vitamins or nutrients. but i have never had any sickness related to not eating any meat. my dad thought i was changing religions. after all these ye…

Hey Yall, I dedicated a couple of hours tonight to researching vegan events going on around the world. I'll add more to the list, and PLEASE add other events as well. One of my goals to have an event listed for every weekend throughout the year somewhere in the world, and my hope is that a bunch of us can get together to meet for some of these events. So the more events we list and the more members from around the world, the more we can meet up in person and the greater impact we can have. Check out NEWS AND EVENTS AND SEE WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND THE WORLD AND GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!!! -Robert

My friend Brendan Brazier is featured on a number of products. He is a best-selling author of the Vegan Nutrition book THRIVE, and co-stars with Me and Tonya Kay in Vegan Fitness - Built Naturally, a movie coming out in mid-November. I was going to mention sometime that Brendan is featured on the back of Nature's Path cereal box. It is called Optimum Rebound. They have a variety of kinds of healthy cereals, but that is the one he is on. My friend Brian (collegeb) e-mailed me today to tell me he saw Brendan on the cereal, which reminded me to share it here on the site. Brendan is registered on this forum as well, but doesn't come by very often. He trains sometime…

Tonight I went to a movie theatre for the first time in about 2 years. I saw the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith (I believe that is the name). It has Brad Pitt in it as well as the Laura Croft actress, not sure how to spell her name (Angelina Jolie?). Anyway, I loved it! I rarely watch movies, especially out at a theatre, but it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the movie. Anyone else see it, or recommend any other movies?
