SpeakLow
Well, I like photography and have been taking advantage of the new camera I got earlier this year. Finally getting the knack of the manual settings and leaving the crutch of 'auto.' Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Jessifly and I hiked into the bottom of the Grand Canyon in June with some friends. Make sure you look at the thermometer, that's in the shade!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/AtGCNJames2.jpgWe started in at 5am, reached the bottom at about 10am....http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/AtGCNPJessiJames.jpg A self portrait crossing the original black bridge at the bottom across the Colorado...http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/AtGCNJames.jpgAnd back out on the 2nd day, 12 hour hike! Ugh!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/GCNP.jpg We visited Portland again in April, this is Mt. Hood at 22,000 feet. I HATE flying!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/Mt.jpg This was Jessi's first flight, she has a big phobia of it, but she did well. We were both drugged up, didn't do much good though lol!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/PlaneFlight.jpg I got to do the "Goonie Thing" while we were in Astoria, I am a HUGE fan!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/GoonieHousewithJames4-8-062.jpg Jessi taking time to stop and smell the flowers, god I love Oregon....http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/JessiStopsToSmellTheFlowers.jpg Charleston Bay Gardens near Bandon, Oregon I believe....http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/CharlestonGardens.jpgA Tulip Magnolia in spring bloom....http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/TulipMagnoliaVulcanHybridTINTED.jpg Newport, Oregon a couple of years ago...http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/Newport.jpg My sister, Jessi and a friend here in Rocky Mountain National Park. The house was sterile white when we bought it, look at it now!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/DININGROOM300_2.jpg Here is my kitchen, I have gas cooking, I love it!http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/KITCHEN300.jpg I like tinkering in the garden. We grow our own veggies every summer. 90% of what you see in this picture was started from seed in my own basement...http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/StvNicksFan/FRONTYARDFROMMASTERBED300.jpg
sensless
I thought people only grew weed in their basement? Ha! Just kidding. The house is gorgeous, I'm quite jealous of the kitchen it is lovely. A fine job of decorating it appears. Is interior decorating a hobby of yours? You should have seen my old apartment, talk about plain white and spartan! Regards, Senlsess
Daywalker
Thanks for the pictures! I agree with sensless, the kitchen is awesome. So is the garden - are you sure you want to move?
Richard
Nice pics man Hahr, I couldn't live in a place like that, with a kitchen like that. I'd have broke several things, and smeared food everywhere by now
CollegeB
Sensless...where I'm from people grow it in the attic! Speaklow, you have more pictures from Rocky Mountain National Park? I was there 2 years ago.

SpeakLow
I thought people only grew weed in their basement? Ha! Just kidding. You didn't see it, in the garden??? Just kiddin! The house is gorgeous, I'm quite jealous of the kitchen it is lovely. A fine job of decorating it appears. Is interior decorating a hobby of yours? You should have seen my old apartment, talk about plain white and spartan! My old apartment was stark white too. We never even thought about painting this house we bought three years ago. But we started with the master bedroom, it was red. The floor plan is so open, that one room led to another. Not a single white wall in the house now. We like, but not everyone does. If the house isn't sold by January, it's going back to white. Which will be sad, the color really livens the place up. If you want to see more of the house, you can go to www.HighPlainsOnline.com There is a cool virtual tour there as well. We just bought stuff to match the paint, it was quaite easy actaully. I'm, 'artsy,' I guess you could say, so it was pretty easy. So is the garden - are you sure you want to move? Wink Ya, we really do want to move. We feel Portland is quite a bit more progressive than this town we live in. I have no way to describe it. You can't even go out to eat here, it's horrible. Portland has school, Jessi has a job transfer lined up, we have friends and family. As much as we will truly miss this place, we have to get out outta here! Do you want to buy a vacation home?!?!?!? Speaklow, you have more pictures from Rocky Mountain National Park? I sure do, I will post them on another thread tonight. We spend so much time there in the summers, I will really miss it. But, Oregon will have its fun too. So what were you doing out here? If you're ever out again, I guess before next summer, let me know. Do you backpack? Where all did you visit? Thank you for the compliments everyone....

SpeakLow
The Goonie thing, well, there have been quite a few movies filmed in Astoria, Oregon. The Gonnoies being on of them. It is one of my all time favorite movies, you should check it out if you've never seen it. It has Sean Astin in it, when he was much younger. Anyway, we visited all of the filming locations we could, just for fun. I took a picture in front of each one too. Thank you for the comments on the pictures, I was just having fun in PhotoShop on the Magnolia and the fountain. We can't find a buyer because the market here in the states is just horrible, complete opposite of last year. Too many homes for sale and not enough buyers. The ecomony isn't too good, everyone is worried about the war, the elections are around the corner, it just isn't a good time to sell right now. And, we are the cheapest in the area for a three bedroom! Lot's of lookers, but no takers. And, a lot of people hate the colors too, but many have liked them. If it isn't sold by January, we are painting the whole thing back to white and going from there. Wish us luck!
