  1. As some of you may know I am a cyclist.

I am 4 weeks into a tough trianing program to get me ready for some really hard races I have coming up.

I am a raw vegan and I am encountering some problems. That is, i am constantly hungry, tired and I am not recovering well from my hard workouts. I know this has to be nutrition related but I am at a loss as to what is missing.

I try to eat as mch as possible but my appetite is not there.

If you guys have any suggestions or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

I need to come up with a structured eating plan just like I have a structured training plan.

  2. try to keep from pushing too hard tomorrow. You should really take the day off the bike completely.

Good thing you are not getting hit by the Nor'easter hitting me now.

The race would be cancelled if it was up here. We suppose to get more than 12" of snow.

Once again, Good Luck and kick some butt!!

  3. don't forget to taper before the big race.

remember it is better to be 10% undertrained (even though you do not have to worry abou this) than 1% overtrained (this you may have to worry about)

Good luck my friend. I will be sending you "fast riding" vibes.

    Keep up posted.

  4. yes, they can. It is quite amazing and like i said they test for everything.

I found out one of the things i was allergic to is garlic? I could not believe it. How could someone be allergic to garlic??

Have you been tested to make sure you do not have any parasites?

My DC made me go to my medical dr. to have that test first, just to rule it out.

My diet is very limited, like yours, except i eat no animal products or processed foods whatsoever.

Have you been tested for candida?

do you avoid all wheat products, additional salt and condiments?

  5. ljk11,

you may also be allergic to certian beans. I know I am.

My DC actaully got to the bottom of all of my distress.

It was a $200 test and it gets sent to a lab in Washington state for analysis. Suppose to be the best in the country. I know it found so many things I am allergic to and like I said since i have eliminated them I feel like a different person. I can try to track down the lab fo ryou if you are interested.

You may also want to observe food combiining rules. Poor food combining will also coause GI distress in many individuals.

  6. ljk11, I hada the same exact problem.

Then I took an extensive food allergy test and found out I had many many food allergies. Once I eliminated all of those foods (even things like garlic. I never heard of anyone being allergic to garlic)

    everything became better.

So I would recommend an extensive food allergy test.
