I just saw the end of the arnold classic.
There was an upset. i will not reveal the winner because I do not want to ruin it for anyone.
Did anyone see it?

veganpotter, when is that TT in march you have been targetting?
-
Hero,
Where were you able to find and purchase all of your organic clothes?
-
Happy Birthday Robert!!
Enjoy the day!!

Yes, i eat them and love them.
I eat a big handful before a bike ride and/or weight workout and they seem to give me a little extra boost.
They seem to taste like a mix of cranberry and raisin.
I never put them in anything though. Just eat them alone or with some almonds.

Thanks for all the good advice.
I did try to remove the cupcakes as soon as I took the out of the oven
and the tops feel off.
As for the frosting, I did not add any milk at all. Now I know.
The family will be trying my creation tonight so I will see how they taste.
They don't look like cupcakes at all so i do hope they taste better than they look. But I put a bunch of grand marnier in them so that may help.
Thanks again

I am not much of a cook but seeing i am here in denver with my sister and nephews I wanted to make them some nice vegan cupcakes.
I attempted to make chocolate orange cupckes with a buttercream frosting.
My first question is: Do you have to use muffin tin liners?
I did not and they fell apart. I greased the muffin tins so I do not understand why they all stuck.
Also, the frosting. I used equal parts confectioners sugar, margarine and shortning (all vegan of course) and it came out really stiff and hard. What did I do wrong?
I am not much of a cook, so all of your help would be appreciated.

I love my sidis. Like i mentioned my original pair are 6 years old and have more than 40,000 miles on them.
I do not have many choices when it comes to womens cycling shoes. I believe just Sidi and Diadora make womens specific shoes. I love the Northwave shoes but they do not make them for women.
For what they cost they should be all carbon and gilded in gold.
Just the sole is carbon with the rest of the shoes is made of Lorica, no leather. I think they are amazing shoes.
I plan on doing a bunch of time trails this season and totally focus on climbing. Maybe doing some climbing races and definitely a lot of mountainous centuries. I love riding 100 plus miles on my bike. It is a fantastic way to spend the day.
Looks like I will not be able to make VW because I cannot afford to take all that time away from my training. (plus money is wicked tight) The Mt.Washington hillclimb will be very tough and I need to ride as many mountians as i can before hand.
I may even have to head to VT to ride Mt.Ascutney.
But I hope to get out there in the fall and meet all of the awesome forum members, especially you potter.

Kathyrn, I will be free thursday morning if you want to meet up.
I will be in Denver and do not think i will have a car though.
I will not know until I get there tuesday.
I would love to meet anyone out in Denver so please PM me.
Hero, I would love to take you up on those free gym passes

they cancelled work today because of the snow.
bad thing is I have to work on sat.
I was able to get to the gym though before it closed this morning.
Had an awesome workout and then came home and shovelled snow.
I may try to venture out later. I cannot stay indoors very long.
But I am working on a balsam wood model plane. It takes a long time to make, but then again it has to be perfect.
What is everyone else up to?

When are you moving to Portland maine?
That will be cool for you. Wish I could join you.
It has been wicked cold and windy here. No road riding for me unfortunetly. My coach is telling me to get my butt on the trainer I have a lot of work to do to get ready for this race season. I have mapped out a very hard season.
What new cycling helmet did you get?
I just bought the new Kyrium ES wheelset.
Also, had to replace my headset so I put on a Kris King headset, new stem and my friend sent me the Look KEO carbon pedals (with TI spindle) for christmas. The pedals are sweet but i have to drop my seat by 6mm and I am all ready at the bottom of my seatpost (it is a set back seatpost).
So it looks like I need a new seatpost. Oh and i also bought a new pair of SIDI shoes. my old pair are 6 years old and have 40,000 + miles on them. I do love them though. So needless to say I have just dropped a whole lot of money on my bike.
Keep on riding!!

Veganpotter, I knew you were cool. You have a birthday in FEB!!
All the great people have birthdays in FEB.
Have a great birthday and enjoy the day!!
-
Are you moving to Portland, OR?
-
Cool beans!!
Are you going to post a picture?
Do you ride on a track now? I am not familiar with any tracks in VA

I did the master cleanse twice and still worked out.
I had 1 day where I was really weak and tired so I just took that day off.
I was not able to go heavy but when I hit the gym after the master cleanse I came back even stronger.
Good luck

I will be in denver from feb. 20-26th also.
Does Watercourse foods have raw foods?
Are there any restaurants in Denver that offer raw foods?
-
finbarrio,
What do mean where am I going to train for it?
Here in Maine it is very hilly. there is not a lot of flat roads unlike the cape.
I think I will have to ride Mt. Ascutney a few times before hand.
However, I never thought I could get in so I have not come up with a training plan yet. This all just happened early this morning.
I am open to all suggestions.
P.s. I hope we are able to meet up in June when i am on the cape
-
Well, I was able to get online and register for the Mt. Washington Hillclimb in Aug. It is a very tough bike ride up mt. washington.
Only 600 riders are permitted.
www.mtwashingtonbicyclehillclimb.org
I just hope I do not die.
Now I just need to get a cycling jersey that says vegan on it.
I wonder how many raw vegans will be doing this?

I have always worn Giro helmets and love them.
A little expensive but I cannot put a price on my head.
I think the cheaper ones are heavier and have less ventilation.
But you have to find what is comfortable for you.
-
Veganpotter,
If it was a Giro helmet they will replace it or at least pro rate it if it was really old.
I hope you did not get hurt though.
It was 0 degrees here this moring with a -12 deg windchill. So my bike it up for the winter. argh....
-
finabarrio, It looks like I will be on the cape (Easham) from June 16-23rd for our annual family vacation
I am bringing my mountain bike and steel bianchi.
Would you be able to tell me so mountain bike trails, versus just riding on the cape cod trail?
maybe we can meet?
-
make it down to the new velodrome?
Absolutely, whenever it is completed.
I do not know when it is slated to be finished though.
-
I am sorry to hear you did not get a good workout in.
No doubt the dehydration played a major role.
Hope today is a better day for you and drink more water!!
Keep on lifting!
-
veganpotter,
did you hear they are going to build a velodome right outside Philadelphia?
It will be the first indoor track on the east coast.
too bad it is not closer.

what distance is the TT?
Are you changing your bike position for the TT.
I read a study and the best thing you can do to improve your time in a TT
is NOT aero wheels or an aero bar but an AERO helmet and pinning your number as flat as possible on your back.
You were going to come north?
