  1. Oatmeal is a great breakfast. If you're going to use raisins though instead of sugar, I'd recommend putting in the raisins while the water is boiling, so it sweetens the water, and flavors the cereal overall, not just the spoonfuls with raisins.

  2. Unless I completely missed it 2 of the Kashi cereals don't have honey in them. I checked the ingredients about five times.

     

    There are 3 of them that I know, the Strawberry Fields, Cinnamon Harvest, and another one that's a plain cereal. I used to eat boxes of the Cinnamon Harvest one, but I just stick to oatmeal when I do have cereal.

  3. So I gather from this discussion that people have protein shakes before a workout? I have avoided this and had them after workouts, but I have no scientific reason for this and I'm a relative newbie.

     

    It depends on how far ahead of the workout you're talking about. Some people have a light protein shake (10 - 20 grams) a couple of hours before a workout, while others will swear more along carbohydrates. I'm more about having carbohydrates and a little bit of protein a couple of hours before said workout.
