  1. My girlfriend and I discussed the same ad, though it was run on TV. Goes something like, 'it isn't the car you drive, or the neighborhood you live in.. etc etc, it is the watch you wear.' Give me a break! The only people who will think that is a good commercial and think about buying a watch for their loved one is a materialistic idiot. Unfortunately, that is most of america I cannot belive commercials like that, as if a watch can define who you are. A watch that costs the same as my used van, no doubt. I see someone with a nice watch and think 'look at that jerk with the expensive watch'
  2. I agree with you on that, but I also think (at least here in the States), the term 'hero' is thrown around like it means nothing. If anyone does anything compassionate at all, or does something any decent human being SHOULD do, they get called a hero. People helping the homeless, or old people, or something and they are a hero. Give me a break. Of topic, the other thing I can't stand is when someone does something great, like when a doctor saves a patient's life when it was a slim chance, and the persons says 'It was a miracle!'. No, it was years and years of schooling and lots of hard work, and the doctor saved your life, not some higher power. Okay, enough ranting
  3. haha, my girlfriend tears every label out of every piece of clothing she wears (even if it is mine), usually leaving a hole instead
  4. I went and saw Le Tigre before, and it seemed half the crowd was a bunch of jerks. My friends and I were dancing and I had to break up probably half a dozen fights of people getting mad that we weren't standing there still, looking cool like the rest of the hipsters.
  5. 1. Containers for a traveler's belongings. duh
  6. I don't count grams of protein per day, but I do make sure I get plenty. Whole grains, soy foods, lots of beans (usually 2 meals a day), rice etc. I eat so damn much that I easily get 150g per day. At times I have had protein shakes a couple times a day and really crammed in the protein, and I didn't notice a difference. I have gained 13 lb. or so in the last 6 weeks (218 lb now up from 205 lb.) just by cramming myself full of healthy foods. Lots and lots of calories, carbs, fat. Lots of olive oil and usually an avacado a day.
  7. I have taken glucosamine at times, and it really seemed to help with the odd clicks and cracks my body has, in my shoulders and wrists especially. I noticed the difference in about a week
  8. Richard, awesome site. I take it you did the site design as well? It is really great, I dig the collage that is the main menu, it is awesome.
  9. I like cooking a Tofurkey, because my girlfriend is small and can't eat nearly as much as me, so I get to eat more than 3/4 of it Had one last week, ate almost the entire thing in the course of an hour, along with roasted veggies.
  10. Do you cover it or bake it on an open pan, also do you slice it up or cook it as a block? Temperature and time? Sorry for all the questions
  11. I voted Caribbean. That way maybe I can get my vegan girlfriend to come as well (she isn't much for social gatherings).
  12. Man, I am only 2 hours from you guys, and with several of you there in pittsburg, we have to arrange a workout and eating (emphasis on the eating ) extravaganza!! Let's set something up for sometime here in December, if you guys have time, I will drive out for a day (or 2) and we can hang out. I have David's # and he has mine, if anyone else wants to call to set anything up, PM me! Tyler
  13. One thing regarding the destination, cost will likely be a limiting factor for many people going (myself included). St. Thomas or St. John are more expensive than many of the caribbean islands, both to get to and to stay and eat at. Some choices that can be MUCh more economical are ones that are higher tourist areas, such as Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, the Yucatan Peninsula (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, etc)... Because these are higher traffic areas there are many more specials available.. The downside is they are higher traffic areas! I myself enjoy secluded and seldom travelled destinations, but these bring higher cost. Just a thought. Regarding SeaSiren's offer about SCUBA certification, I am a diver and will gladly accompany anyone who ends up going diving!
  14. Personally, it took me a moment to figure it out when there were other threads regarding Team Vegan Fitness. I thought it was in reference to something with veganfitness.net, but I figured it out after a moment
  15. I am a very positive person, I never get depressed, because my outlook on life is that it can always be worse. If I am not starving to death or fighting for survival, then what do I have to complain about? People get stressed about the most mundane things, like money and possessions. Life is too short, do what you want to do when you want to do it and deal with it as it comes.
  16. Hmmm... not a bad idea, that would more than cover a plane ticket and a fun trip to knock over hundreds of thousands of dominos Probably have to run away from an angry mob though
  17. I can only buy in on special occassions now, I eat a jar within 2 or 3 days!!
  18. Yeah, actually I do get bloated sometimes, sometimes I have to piss so bad when I wake up I feel like I am gonna pop as well. I definately retain water, but I also don't watch my salt intake at all

    Drug use.

I use drugs on ocassion, this summer when we went camping about half a dozen of my friends and myself ate hallucinogenic mushrooms, it was a total blast. It isn't very often that I use any drugs, more like special occassions. I have no problem with casual drug use, as long as it doesn't interfere with your life and goals.
  20. I usually bring some food when I travel, I leave for Mexico on Sunday morning, and just bought 8 cliff builder bars and half a dozen or so bags of Stonewall's Jerquee for the week I will be gone. Just to make sure I am getting a little extra protein in. When I travel for longer periods, like a few weeks or a month, I just shop as I travel, I have been to Australia, Holland, England, Canada, Mexico & Jamaica and have never really had any problems getting vegan food. One exception which really stank was on a live-aboard scuba diving boat on the barrier reef in Australia, where their vegetarian options weren't vegan friendly and I ate plain white pasta and salad for dinner a couple nights
  21. All I drink is water. I have no idea how people don't drink alot of water. I would say I am at a gallon a day, more when working out or training martial arts. I have a gallon jug I refill, as well as several small water bottles I carry in my car. I have a tendency to chug water when working out and training, which I have tried to cut back on, because I end up getting cramps. Sometimes I can't help it, I start taking a sip and next thing I know the bottle is empty
  22. Looks good, but if it were me making it I would have about 10x the Vegenaise on that toast
  23. Zero. I will be working as much as I can. Well, there is your problem. Once you start working to make some money, problem solved
