  1. Not that I want to be like that, but they are actually called Lynyrd Skynyrd . Sorry mate, but the original band was in fact Lynard Skynard. The leftover guys that tour now go by Lynyrd Skynyrd, they can't use the original name because the record company owns it. Ah, who cares! SLAYER RULES!!! To hell with Lynard Skynard!
  2. Good luck with your Pump n Run Rene. Erik Marcus is the keynote speaker in Charlottesville. Maybe I can snap a pic of him at the Vegan Bodybuilding table.
  3. How about a vegan commune? http://www.veganviews.org.uk/brynderwen/
  4. I don't think anyone is "attacking" Mike here. It is an appropriate concern that one of the world's best known vegan strength athletes is promoting dairy and eggs!
  5. Funny that url vegansolutions.com transfers you to garlicboy.com and doesn't even sell protein powders! Rene, I have no doubt that Mahler would reccomend whey protein. He doesn't really believe in vegan nutrition. A quote from the "vegan diet" section of his own web site: At the bottom of the "vegan diet" page, he has the following link: UGH!
  6. Last time I looked at a cell-tech product, their serving size of one scoop is 10 grams of creatine. That's double what any other brand suggests and more than triple the research Will mentions. I would say cut it in half at least and see how that works for you. I have found that pure creatine monohydrate works best for me. I just mix it in water and don't have any adverse affects. The only time I have been sick from creatine is from the sugar and/or artifiical sweeteners used in those creatine mixes like cell-tech. I also blamed creatine for stomach problems for a while, only to find I can't digest soy protein powder. It was the soy powder I was taking with the creatine that was causing the problem.
  7. Topher is gonna be the famous Vegan Pirate at veganpirates.com. He'll sail around the world with no shirt on forcing people to eat vegan hot dogs and drink chocolate soymilk.
  8. Cool man! I gotta tell my store to get their s!@# together and get the new ones in there.
  9. Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness is now linked on the event web site! http://www.cvillevegfest.org/cvf_orgs.html
  10. Hmm, must just be old packages at my local stores. The following from Boca:
  11. Damn, I was hoping they would make those vegan!!!!! You just made my day! they still make some with eggs, but the new THICKER CRISPIER BREADDING ones have no eggs. and the new ingredients are even bolded on the back. THICKER CRISPIER BREADING? Those are the ones I was looking at mate. They have moved the "egg whites" further down the list in the 2% or less list of ingredients, but they are still there. Now I'm really confused, I just checked out the Boca web site and the ingredients listed there do NOT include egg whites. There is a statement advising to see the actual package for the "most accurate and up to date" information. I wonder what is going on here? I don't trust Boca any more!
  12. I find that blisters heal a lot quicker if they are popped and drained. I don't know about hands, but duct tape makes a great blister bandage on feet. I use it for hiking.
  13. Thanks for the support Rob! You are awesome man! I just ordered some grippers today for the event. I got a pair of cheap trainers and the Captains of Crush No. 1 and No.2 from ironmind.com . It'll be cool for people to test their strength against a vegan. Many people who have been training can close the No. 1, but most can't get the No.2. http://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmind/images/CoCPack_Hand-f.JPG
  14. Yeah, actually I do, although I don't have any idea if I could or would be going to any given location, so I don't know how much gravity anyone should be giving my objection. I don't mind the Caribbean, but I won't be going to St. Thomas. Something against St. Thomas? Or do you have a better location in mind?
  15. I wouldn't mind putting some energy in to this, although the anarchist in me despises the word "committee". But, I think I can live with it. Our earlier conversations seem to have leaned heavily toward St. Thomas for a destination. Is there anyone who objects to St. Thomas or has another location in mind that should be considered? I'm already excited for Vegan Vacation 2006.
  16. Hello Houdini, Nice pics mate! Nothing to be ashamed of there. There really is no magic supliment for getting big, just eat until you can't eat any more and then keep on eating. If your protein is a little on the low side a protein powder once or twice per day will help. If you have been working out for a while, you may enjoy the creatine boost. I like 20 grams per day for the first five days followed by 5 grams per day after. Although, I usually do 10 grams on workout days and 5 on non-workout days. I often don't take it all on non-workout days.
  17. I'll continue to update this log as I'm abled to. I got the above three posts copied and pasted in with no problem, then it went to s!@#. I'll try again later.

Deadlift - 6x135 pounds 5x225 4x315 2x365 1x405 Met a cool 17 year old who worked in with me on deadlifts. He is 150 pounds after putting on 30 in the last year. He was surprised to learn that I only eat plants and weigh 240 pounds. I think it made a real impression when I pulled up 405 pounds without breaking a sweat.

  21. Damn, I was hoping they would make those vegan!!!!! You just made my day! Am I missing something? I have checked out the Boca Chick'n Patties at several different stores. They have new packaging, but they still have eggs.
  22. Well done Felix!!! I wish I could have seen you arm wrestling those goons!
