I'm not German though, not even German-American. And I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on America having its own culture. Don't misunderstand me to think that I'm ashamed of being white. I'm not ashamed of, or feel guilty for, being white, American, male, or any other thing that I didn't have any control over. I just don't find it very interesting.

Wasn't in the Army, but I am a 20 year military retiree. It'd be difficult to be vegan, if not impossible, especially the first few months when you'd be in basic training and then your MOS training. Going on field exercises would also make it very difficult. There are vegetarian K-rations, but I doubt that there'd be enough that are vegan for you to get through.

I can relate to that, I recently had an online conversation with a moron that thought that only vegetarians ate Marmite because it's labelled "suitable for vegetarians". It took a couple of posts to get it through to him that that was no different that the allergy warning labels on U. S. food products. I've tried Marmite, and won't be buying a second jar any time soon. This is great news, it took me a while to discover that Genisoy bars aren't vegan (the bastards), and hadn't found a replacement for them yet. I rarely can be bothered to make protein shakes.
