Ha, this is great. Made my day at work.
-
Lookin' sharp, and very well spoken as usual.
-
Despite my oven being on the fritz - I decided to try this recipe out. I went the long route, and set the oven for 150 tossing every 20 minutes. It still ended up burning.
It's probably for the better though. I've been eating about a pound of granola a day. The strawberry hemp, and pumpkin flax at whole foods are way too good. I just grabbed some earlier, and the pumpkin flax didn't make it halfway home.

steaz is great - im pretty fond of their energy drinks. big ups pittsburgh

Holy smokes - Ive been eating a ton, and Im down to 119lbs. Crap.

You people are all crazy. Tempeh is amazing.
I second that. Maybe some of you are preparing it wrong? I suggest steaming or boiling it for 15 minutes. Then let it cool a bit - I usually just throw it in the freezer for a few minutes.
Whip up a marinade. Here's a quicky:
2 TB Water
1TB Soy Sauce
1TB Lemon Juice
Splash of Apple Cider Vinegar
Hot Sauce to taste
You can always throw in other stuff also. Black pepper, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, agave, etc.
Throw the tempeh in a zip top bag. Pour the marinade over the tempeh. Shake, and refrigerate - I'de suggest anywhere from 20 minutes to overnight.

My routines are always based primarily on compound movements. To quote Avi "I am not a bodybuilder so I concentrate on strength. I consider proper training, a workout that is going to utilize the body as a unit and not as unconnected muscles. So there is almost never the so-called isolation exercises like preacher curl."
-
hey i'd love to get all into this but before i do, how long is 'awhile'? and how long as a whole have you been training for consistently??
i did that first routine for probably 3 months. Still weigh around 120lbs, and look like a cheerleader. I started doing that second routine for 2 weeks then went back to heavy weights.
day 1
bench
weighted pushups
weighted dips
day 2
squats
deads
day 3
bent bb row
standing press
pullups - wide grip
then i usually do a day or 2 of sprints/hiit cardio, and a day or two of crossfit type training. i've also been riding my bike a lot since the weathers been pretty decent. i eat all day long - feel bloated and terrible, and im still not putting on any muscle. i have that skinny and cut looks going on. booooo

Hey, I am trying to increase my lean muscle % and obtain stronger/bigger muscles (not huge bulk) but using bodyweight exercises and anything that pretty much utilizes gravity and my body as resistance as well as isometrics and an isometric band that i got for free. Is there a way to do this, also how would the nutrition be for a goal such as mine??
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
I lift during the week, and usually do bodyweight stuff on the weekend.
pullups - narrow, and wide grip
pushups
1 leg rows
pistol squats
rx squats
burpees
jump rope
box jumps
crunches
knee raises
I use the gym jones workouts as a basis, and mix some things in - check it. You may also be interested in plyometric stuff: here

Cereal is a weakness of mine. It's so easy, and unsatisfying. I gave it up this month. I was going through 3 or 4 boxes of natures path a week. So, I decided to relax on it for a bit. 17 days clean.

I don't know if I have any. Does everyone have wisdom teeth? I know I never got them removed but my teeth so far don't hurt or anything so I have no idea if I need them removed( If I even have them to begin with )
Not everyone has wisdom teeth.
But I know( For the recovery process ) I would not take any pain killers. I'm sure there are natural ways to help. Like a good ice water flush? Maybe. Ice Cream? Well that works for getting your Tonsils removed. I'd probably go on a fast then too since it seems to me that eating anything solid would hurt.
I don't know what an ice water flush is but I don't think thats gonna cut it post surgery. I was prescribed vicodin, but I've only taken a few advil, and I'm fine. Back to work the next day.
-
When I was around 18 my wisdom teeth started to hurt a bit. But the pain went away, and hasn't come back so I still have them. But unfortunately I have a couple cracked teeth, and 1 rotten tooth that need to come out. But with no dental coverage at the moment I'll have to wait a bit before I can get it taken care of.
I hear ya. I don't have dental either. I finally got healthcare - after being employed by this place for 7 years Good thing cause I've been putting it to use.
-
They dug all 4 of mine out at one time, healed up in a week.
How long til you were back to training? I popped a few advil, and did some pushups, pullups, and other body weight stuff. I hate lying in bed, and my puny body can't afford to miss a day.
-
yooo, I survived. All 4 gone. This isn't too much fun though - kinda hurts. I'm having the hardest time trying to drink this monstrous smoothie I just made. I've been sipping on it for 45 minutes now - my lip feels like a truck tire.
oatmeal
pumpkin seeds
strawberries
chunk of banana
mangos
splash of orange juice
spinach
gemma
water
Thanks for the kind words all.

Well, here goes...

Some of the store bought one's I've seen can be a bit salty. Canned beans might do that too. But if you're watching the salt/oil content and it's low then eat up. It's good stuff.
-a
That's why I always drain and rinse the canned stuff.
-
Drain the beans. Pour into a pot, and add fresh water. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes.
Toss the garlic in a running food processor.
Add the beans - process until smooth - add tahini - process.
Add the remaining ingredients. After everythings nice and mixed up add water to achieve the consistency you're after.

When i eat hummus i eat over a pound of it and a pound of flax crackers in one meal. I have a crazy appitite, but i say away from it becasue the amount of fat and the price
1 Can of Garbanzo Beans - Cooked & Drained
2-3 Cloves of Garlic
1 TB Lemon Juice
1 TB Tahini
Splash of Lime Juice
1/4 tsp Cumin
1/4 tsp Paprika
Dash of Cayenne, and Chili Powder
Squirt of Chili Sauce or your favorite hot sauce
Simple, fairly inexpensive, and a hell of a lot better than store bought.
-
How much do you guys think I should be having each day? 2-4 tbsp too much? Ok? I'm sure I'm probably way more than that now.
2-4 Tablespoons of hummus?! Is that possible?
-
I checked out those Amy's pizza - pretty costly.
