  1. After a workout? Im not too sure about that one. Maybe before?
  2. too early to eat? like i mentioned i have oatmeal just about every morning. i think its the only thing that can get me outta bed at 7am. i love em. anyway, im wondering if that's too early to be eating. i get up at 7 and have to be at work at 8. which means im usually plowin through a hearty bowl of oats around 7:30. is that too soon? i used to feel completely sick in the morning - no matter what. the thought of eating before noon was repulsive. now, im the total opposite. im into it.
  3. I was at the doctor the other day to figure this out. He seems to think it's acid reflux. I had reflux years, and years ago. When I was youngster. Which I acredit all the junk food, and loads of pop I was devouring at the time. What I've been experiencing lately is completely different. I don't get the burning or upset stomach feeling. Which apparently you can still be refluxing without those symptoms. I go back in a few weeks for a barium swallow, and some other tests. In the meantime he put me on nexium once a day for a month. It seems to be working already. But, it's really tearing my stomach up. Which he said it might. The nexium is supposed to control the acid, and give my esophagus some time to heal. I've also been chewing on candied ginger after a meal. That also seems to be helping.
  4. Hotels seem a bit pricey, and Im not sure I could handle a hostel. The price seems right though.
  5. I'm going to be visiting there for a few days in May. Can someone recommend me a decent area/hotel I could look into?
  6. Day 4 - The battle rages on.
  7. Bahaha, actually choked. That was pretty funny.
  8. It really is...quite scary. I just made some soup, and toast. I guess that's the best Im gonna do until this passes.
  9. Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I'm really suprised it hasn't been worse. The past few months I've been around so many co-workers, and customers who has been super sick with the flu. The people I work with have had it multiple times. They get it full blown. Diarrhea, vomiting, sneezing, coughing, etc. Nasty stuff. So, Im not complaining. I just wanna eeeaattt. I haven't let it get me down though. I still managed to get my workouts in. And, on the weekend I usually only do cardio, and some body weight stuff. So, I'm not too upset. But, I got up today thinking it had passed. Thought I would jump some rope for awhile. Not even 15 minutes in - the gurgles returned, and had me haulin' it to the commode. I always thought "explosive diarrhea" was a dramatization.
  10. I've had the skids for 2 days now. I've never experienced a stomach virus like this (assuming that's what it is). Other than cramps, and gurgles I feel alright...just destroying the toilet every 20 minutes. I haven't really eaten anything either. A few bananas, applesauce, and loads of water. That's about it. From what I've read thats all one can really do - no? I hope this passes soon - I'm pretty hungry.
  11. 12. I've never done splits, or isolation exercises. My workout looks something like this: Day 1 Bench Incline Dips Pushup bars Day 2 Squat Deads Seated DB Press Pullups (narrow) Day 3 DB Press (slow) Pushup bars (slow) Cleans Bent Over Rows Pullups (wide) The days in between I usually jump rope, and do ab, calf, or various body weight exercises. I feel as though I'm getting stronger, but I'm not showing it at all...I still look scrawny.
  13. Cricopharyngeal spasm Information for patients with a lump in the throat sensation This syndrome results from a spasm in the cricopharyngeus muscle. It is a self limiting disorder that will resolve on its own. Symptoms * Lump in the throat sensation * feels like a golf ball, tennis ball, fur ball... is stuck in my throat * feels like my tie is too tight * feel like I am being strangled * my throat feels swollen * The symptoms can be mimicked by pushing on the cartilage in the neck just below the Adams apple. * The lump comes and goes depending on the day. * Symptoms are usually best in the AM and worse later in the day * Stress aggravates the symptoms. * Saliva is difficult to swallow yet food is easy to swallow. * Eating, in fact, often makes the tightness go away for a time. * The symptoms are similar to getting choked up at a wedding or a funeral.
  14. It feels like its just below my adams apple. When I try to clear my throat I get no relief. I just found this. Sounds like what im talking about.
  15. Anyone ever get this? I thought I was catching something. I've had this tightness in my throat for 2 weeks now - almost suffocating. It feels like a giant lump in my airway. It gets really bad at times, and I feel like I can't catch my breath. It finally went away a couple days ago, and just then returned tonight after a chest workout. Im wondering if it has someting to do with my breathing when im benching.
  16. That's almost the basis for all my shakes. I just found a new favorite i think though. Couple pieces of banana, couple frozen strawberries, some frozen cherries, 1 cup of water, and vanilla gemma. Chuggin one down now.
  17. From my personal experience i know that the blood sugar levels change very fast..The only way to find out is by measuring it by yourself.. Also i suspect that you may have intolerance in many foods..It would be a good idea to have a food intolerance test.. I'm not familiar with food intolerances. So, Im off to research those. That was a concern. Tested negative for thyroid disorders.
  18. I'm debating the same thing. I had a gym membership a couple years ago. Really nice place, great equipment, and was rarely busy. It was about 15 minutes out of the way from my commute home, but it was worth it. The cost caught up to me though. I've been training at home since then. But, it's hectic having other people in the house that also train at home. And, also want to get a workout in right after work. So, Im trying to find a gym again - the options are pretty limited. But, lifting at 7pm after working all day is ruining me. Sounds like you already have some equipment. If so why not just workout at home? If I had a power rack, a couple more dumb bells, and lived alone I know for sure that's what I'd do.
  19. I am not that familiar with blood sugar tests but don't they vary based on what you last ate and how long ago you last ate? I think an A1C test would prove more beneficial than just a glucose test. A1C will show what you're average glucose level has been over the last few months.
  20. I do have a tendency to eat fast. So, I really try to focus on lots of chewing. I've been concerned that one of my problems may be hypoglycemia. The last two times I saw my physician my glucoses's were drastically different. The first time I went I had a big hearty bowl of oatmeal and my glucose was 58 the second time was a 12 hour fasting blood sugar, and it came back normal at 85.
  21. He's refunding the money...I think. There's a couple stumpjumpers Im eyeing up on ebay now.
  22. Im not sure what CleanUp is. But the one i suggested is called CCleaner(Crap Cleaner)
  23. crap cleaner: http://filehippo.com/download/9e7bd73cd3f2bc103c4811454ff9c693/download/ ad-aware: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5&cdlpid=10045910 That should be a good start. You may want to invest in a good anti virus program like Kaspersky, Pc-Cillin, or Zone Alarm. Report back, or mail me if you have any questions.
  24. I do that. In between breakfast, and lunch i have fruit, and maybe some granola or a bar. Then the same between lunch, and dinner. But those mini meals turn into giant meals. What are you suggesting for a fiber rich snack? I know oatmeal is supposed to be so fulfilling, and satisfying. But, it just makes me crave, and junk afterwards.
  25. I only drink water. I take a 2 liter to work, and usually drink half of it. Then the rest throughout the day.
