Went on an urban foraging tour with wild man Steve Brill yesterday. It was awesome. If you live in or around NYC I would definitely recommend it. We did Central Park which was a big group of like 50 people. It was still really great. The other locations will give you a more private tour/ much smaller group if you prefer that. I think when we do it again that'll be the plan. http://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/ -Dylan

If you haven't already been tipped into this one, there's a really interesting Halloween/Artist Exhibit happening in the Village, best described in the following article: http://www.lifeinthefastlane.ca/banksy-sets-up-pet-shop-with-self-dipping-chicken-nuggets-and-swimming-fish-sticks/art Basically, the artist is combining animatronics with AR themes (from fur to cosmetic testing to the meat industry.) The exhibit's free, and the line's long (about 15 minutes...but definitely worthwhile.) Check it out...if you live in NYC, it's definitely worth the trip! (PS: the Village also just added a really decent VEGAN ICE CREAM JOINT called Lula's Apothecary: http://www.lu…

NYC Vegans, I'm going to be in Manhattan next weekend. I'd love to finally meet those from the area. I'm moving to Manhattan permanently in two weeks; it would be wonderful to already know a few vegan fitness lovers. Anyone available July 22 through 24? ** I also plan to workout while I'm there if anyone is interested ** Message me and I'll get back to you with my cell number. Looking forward to it! Dax

So, I've just discovered the joys of homemade Seitan, but have already noticed that vital wheat gluten can tend towards expensive. Anyone know where I can pick up the stuff in bulk in NYC, or order online? Thanks!!

Hey Portlanders, I'm opening a Vegan & Raw food cart in Spring! After being laid up with knee surgery, I had time to evaluate my goals and realized that they didn't really jive with what I was doing. Then I went and saw Gary Vaynerchuk at Powell's, on Robert's suggestion, and decided it's about time to start doing what I really enjoy, cooking up the best vegan food around! Portland is the best town for vegan & raw food, but there's still far too few vegan & raw restaurants, not to mention food carts. I'll be serving lasagna, chili, mac & chreese, seitan, mashed potatoes, and other soul warming dishes, as well as a variety of raw delights I've been develo…

anyone been to Poland and done the vegan thing? i'm going back home and wondering if i'll return with half my weight which i left with lol we live in a little town so vegan options will be scarce (other than fruits and veggies of course), so i'm hoping to stock up on some food hopefully in Wroclaw, which has a crazy amount of veg restaurants, which surprised me really. if worst comes to worst i'll have to bus, or train it, a couple hours to a larger city and stock up, but still, it'll be fun and a nice challenge
