Good morning All, I'm not new to the board, but I have moved from the fur campaign to the VEGAN campaign. I will be heading up a lot of the health and fitness aspects that come with being VEGAN here at PETA. From time to time I will be turning to you all and asking for personal stories, achievements, and your thoughts on certain things. Veganbodybuilding.com has a wonderful group of members, and you all are a wonderful well of information. If you ever have an idea, a though, or just have a question- do not hesitate to ask, PM, or email me. Thanks again for your continued support. Mike

Hey everybody... My name is Chris, I am from the Chicago/Indiana area. I have been vegan for almost 4 years (I was vegetarian for 3 before that). I go on spurts of working out and then not doing it for a month or so. Right now I am 6 foot and 215lbs. I dropped about 10lbs a month or so ago from doing a 4 day fast and doing some jogging & running. Luckily I have been able to keep it off and not gain it back. Ideally I would like to get under 200 and eventually start building up some muscle and bulk up a bit. I am starting to get back on track and hopefully keep it up. If anyone has any motivation tips to help me keep up with the workout pass them along.

Hello everyone! I'm a 17 year-old vegan from Hessen in Germany. I am vegan for about a year and a half and before I was a vegetarian for about two years. A friend of mine recommended me this forum to realise my intention to get a fitter body and lose some weight. Since I go to school I have problems with my weight. However, I managed in the last years to get a better fitness but it's not yet as good as I want it to be. I tried many ways of sport: swimming, thai-boxing, riding, going to the gym and finally also home training. Parallel to sports I pay attention to what I eat. Another problem is that my digestion is very sensitive. A problem is my motivation to do…

Hi everyone, My name is Jordan and I new to the board. I've been training since I was 17 (am now 26). It wasn't until last year, however that I got very serious. I decided one day, one moment, to take each visit to the gym, each set, hell even each rep more seriously and I'll tell you, it made all the difference. I've made more gains in the last year than I did in the first 8 combined. I strive mainly for "cut glass" definition with overall, annual gains in muscle weight and mass. Cardio and diet are two things I've become MUCH more strict about and in addition to a better physcial appearance, I am internally stronger and mentally more fit today than ever. I am h…

Hi everyone! I just found this site today and I'm really excited to know there are natural bodybuilders. I have been looking into a vegan lifestyle for a few months now and am slowly converting. I started hitting the gym this month and would love to gain five or ten lbs of muscle so I can enter some competitions. I need to find out what suppliments I will need to add to a vegan diet to achieve this without looking too masculine. I have switched over to Silk Soy milk and need more protein choices (ie good tasting protein powders). You all seem very nice and cool! Thanks for welcoming me!

I am only a vegetarian. But I am dead, so attempts to convert me will be in vain. I felt compelled to clarify something I believe may be misinterpreted among this community. When I say: " Remember to let (her) under your skin, Then you’ll begin to make it Better better better better better better" I am not referring to steroids and reaching full muscle potential. This has long been misunderstood and I do appreciate having had the opportunity to set the record straight.

Greetings to everyone on the Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness forum. I'm very pleased to have found this forum--especially since I can speak freely about veganism w/o raising the ire of forum members (like I've witnessed on bicycling.com for instance). I really like the fact that forum members here hail from several different nations. I'm originally from Melbourne, Australia and have resided in CA, AK, WA, OR, VA and now TX since 1996. I've been vegan since July, 1999. I'm a 46 year old male, 6' 2", 197 lbs., married to a Puerto Rican lady and have one son who will be turning five next week. I'm trying to make him aware of the abhorrent practices found in animal agr…

Hello veggie sports(wo)men, let me introduce myself. I am Norbert from The Netherlands, 33 yrs old and at the very beginning of serious weight training. My goal - simply gain some muscles, losing fat, and create definition. My problem - I hate sports! So, every tip and support is welcome. I am vegetarian since 1992 and vegan for 2 1/2 years. I even was on raw food for some time, but unfortunately I am not strong enough to stick to it. Last month I have started to train with a split program 4 - 6 times a week. For fatburning I try to run at least 3 times a week approx. 45 -60 minutes. Not without results if I may say so. You can find a before and after pic at http:/…

Hi all! Felt I had to register when I saw so many friends from veganfitness hanging around here ! Guess a short introduction for those of you who dont know me would be in place as well. Im 28 years old and vegan since 5 years or so. As for training I at the moment aim to do equal amounts of running, floorball and heavy (well almost ) lifting. I aim to do each of those two times a week, we'll see if I manage that .

Hello there! I have been checking out your site randomly for the past several months (thanks to Topher's recomendation), but I am finally becoming a member. It's good to find so many healthy, fit vegans in one place! I have been vegan for about 9 years now. I am 25 and I live in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. I am currently spending most of my "work out" time doing Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga as I am training to become a Power Yoga teacher! It is challenging stuff and I still can't believe the changes that it's made in my body, including my strength. I would have never thought I could do some of the things I can do now. I will have to post some of my pictures sometime.…

I'm not new to trying to lose fat and gain muscle but I've started more seriously reading about it in the past month. And I've finally given up on trying to do both at the same time. I've finally decided that If I lose ten lbs of fat I'm going to do a real bulking cycle. (still low fat and as low gi as I can make it).

Helloo. My names Josh, I've been body building on and off for 3 years, only started getting commited about it this December. I've been vegan for a whole 3 months now, all it took was a day of watching holocaust videos on history channel, and then a night of Peta ones. Totally turned me off animal products, and let me tell you, I've never felt better. Not only do I feel better about myself morally, but I have way more energy and feel a lot more healthy. I feel like a car thats just gone from burning gasoline to running on electricity, it's great. The shirt I ordered just arived today. Talk about fast shipping, it only took them 8 days to get it all the way to Victoria BC. …

Hello All! I am new new new to this site, to bodybuilding, but not to veganism! But it is wonderful to know that there are athletes who support veganism. Many of my athletic friends and ballet teachers automatically assume being vegan will make it impossible for me to build muscle and gain endurance. But it's nice to know that ya'll are out there. Take care!

Hi! I'm a vegan mom of two who stumbled upon this site with the help of my wonderful vegan body building boyfriend. I've also recently become interested in bulking up. For the longest time, I was soley concerned with being "thin". Now, 50 lbs later,I see thin women as in health as poor as mine used to me. So, I'm enlisting the help of this site to get me in gear.

Hey y'all! Now it's my turn! I'm from Germany and have allready been vegan for 4 years now! I love it I basically just started with weight lifting. After my first atempt last year I had some problems with my back and could not train any more for so long that I now consider it a new start. The tiny bit I might have achieved during the short time of training last year was definitively totally gone! My new start is about 7 months ago and I love it. I am very lazy though and sometimes I have a hard time getting my ass up, but I want to see some more improvement and I therefore am very motivated right now. It's not bad so far. I always wanted to go to the gym, had s…

I hope that I'm welcome after admitting this. I am not a vegan, but I am in the process of whittling out meat from my diet. I've already completely stopped eating red meat and I am now aiming at removing chicken and eggs. I am training for a figure comp next year. I'm ridding my diet of meat for my health and for the enviornment, I've read about the horror that is the meat industry and don't want to contribute to what they're doing. I hope I can participate in your discussions, even though I am not completely vegan. Thanks!
