Similar to Coldstone consistency but vegan of course. I am thinking of using coconut milk in place of cream and vanilla soymilk in place of regular milk. My problem is that I am having to add too much ice, which de-creams the shake. Any ideas?

So last night a friend brought over a couple pints of Purely Decadent. When I got up I felt like making waffles for breakfast and then I remembered that there was still nearly a pint of vegan ice cream left in the freezer. Obviously I wasn't going to let the opportunity for a waffles and ice cream breakfast pass me by. Simple Waffle Recipe 1 cup flour 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup soy milk 1 tablespoon oil blueberries (optional) Mix dry ingredients first. Then make a whole in the middle dry ingredients to add the soy milk and oil. Add blueberries if you like and stir every thing together. Cook waffle batter in a waffle iron until golden-brown. Ser…

I made a pretty tasty vegan potato salad last night from 4 ingredients. Yukon Gold potatoes (boiled until soft) Follow Your Heart Veganaise Minced collard greens Dill pickle juice I mixed them all up in a bowl and it was pretty awesome. I just added more of this or that until I was pleased with the outcome. I didn't measure anything, just mixed ingredients and ate it.

List you're most ing, Vile, Horrific, Nasty Concoctions of Satan here. I'll go first. I have quite a few of my own . #1: Pizza Bomb Basically it was designed to be A Super Protein Pizza. This was made in my Pre-Vegan days when I was just Vegetarian. The Size was in the middle of Small and Medium. Crust made out of regular flower. Sauce made out of Tomatoes, Spinach, cilantro and salt. And to top it all off I covered it in Soy nuts and then covered it in Mazzarella cheese. Outcome: Yuck. So vile and crunchy it made me go >.< # 2: Spinach Cookies. One day I decided to make Vegan Cookies( This was back when I was new to health so I didn't know about proccessed…

Let's start a mung recipe thread. Here's the thick soup I'm loving lately. Rinse the beans and look for stones, etc. I prefer the whole green mung beans, but the skinned and split mung dahl, which is yellow, is great as well. Bring a quart of water to boil and add a cup of mung, cover to simmer on a back burner. Keep more than enough water in so they don't burn. In a heavy bottomed pan heat oil and add a pinch of coriander seed, a pinch of cumin seeds, a pinch of black mustard seeds and a pinch of crushed red pepper. Don't burn the seeds, fry them a long moment, until it smells good, add a half teaspoon of turmeric powder, fry a moment then add minced onion/garlic/f…

So I made a soup the other day...a purée of sweet potatoes, onions, carrots and garlic. It was ok so I spiced it up with some curry seasoning and man it was almost like curry without the chunks of potatoes, carrots and onions. I thought with a little tinkering this could be a perfect curry base without having to add flour to thicken. In the pot goes: 1 sweet potato sans skin cut into 1" slices 2 large carrots chopped into small pieces 1 apple chopped 1 med onion chopped 1 cup dry lentils Enough water to cover and bring to boil. While waiting to boil add: 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp earth balance 1 tbsp minced ginger 4-5 cloves garlic 1 bay leaf 1.5 tsp salt 2 -3 tsp gara…

I know I can make decent chilli and freeze it to eat it later but I don't really want to live on chilli alone so does anyone know some good, cheap things that I can make and then freeze for the week? Healthy goes without saying here I think

My vegan pizza dough recipe... 2 tsp dry active yeast 1 1/2 cups warm water 1 tsp dry sweetener 3 cups flour 1 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash Garlic/Herb seasoning (optional) In a large bowl, stir together the yeast, water and sweetener. Let sit for 10 minutes. With a wooden spoon, stir in 2 cups of the flour until well mixed. Stir in the remaining flour, salt and salt-free seasoning. Kneed dough on a lightly floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a cloth. Set in a warm, non-drafty area until dough has doubled in size ( 1 - 1/2 hours). Punch down dough and roll out to desired thickness and …
