  1. I've seen Alc Anon really help someone I know that used to have a drug problem
  2. I threw that one together pretty quickly. If you plan on using it, let me know, because I can do some editing with the music software I have to get it to fit with the scene
  3. Try these: http://helios.acomp.usf.edu/~wpeavy/WillPeavy-GorillaBanana.mp3 http://helios.acomp.usf.edu/~wpeavy/WillPeavy-TheSheaWalk.mp3
  4. I created a log on here, but when I try to update it takes me back to the main page of the site when I click "Submit" rather than posting. Any ideas?
  5. I'm going to start keeping a log of the exercises I do each night.
  6. What if you try cutting soy out for a couple of weeks to see if there are any changes? Also, when I'm sick or have an upset stomach I usually eat lentil soup and drink saw palmetto tea, and it helps me feel better. It might work for you too
  7. For me: north European ancestry Culture: I was born in Texas, but grew up in Florida. Both are American states, but the culture in Florida is a lot different than Texas.
  8. What kind of music are you looking for? I have a bunch of songs I wrote/recorded from all sorts of genres - rock, jazz, hip-hop, etc. Let me know if you want to hear any of my MP3s
  9. I ended up doing only 400 pushups / 300 situps. I had energy to do more, but I ran out of time. So just like you were saying above Rob, it's all about doing them consistently throughout the day. I'll try again for 500/500 next Saturday
  10. So if it's in St. Thomas how is everyone getting there? Boat? Plane? Or is anyone going to be really hardcore and just swim across the ocean?
  11. SGs are awesome. I used to play in a band where I played a Les Paul Studio and the other guitarist played an SG. It sounded really good together because I got the deeper, richer tones, and he got the higher tones
  12. True, I like to talking to old people too, as long as they aren't grumpy and like to joke around. If the question was about approaching women to ask them out on dates, then no, I don't do that because I'm married.
  13. I'm working on 500/500 today, as of 5:14pm. As of I'm about halfway there. If I finish the 500/500 today, then I'm going to try for the triple 500 next Saturday
  14. 30/30 is nothing to be ashamed of - as you long as you keep working at it you'll get there
  15. My tradition was made in the old Epiphone factory, so it's exactly the same except the label and the pick guard
  16. It depends. I usually don't go around doing stop n chats with strangers; but if I had somethign I wanted to talk about or ask to a stranger, then I have no problems going up to them.
  17. I have almost the same guitar (black w/ white pick guard). Except mine is a Les Paul Studio copy made by Tradition
  18. Good point gym hater. Lab meat would be more environmentally sustainable because it uses resources more efficiently than current meat production methods; and waste (such as blood and excrement) is minimized.
  19. There are federal, state, and private grants and scholarships in the U.S. Also, there is a huge difference in tuition rates between public and private institutions. Where I live, in Florida, you can go to a public university for free if you made good grades in high school, or if you excelled in a sport. Or, if you goofed off in high school and want a second chance, you can go to a public community college for a year (around $1000 for books and tuition for the first year), and if you do well there, then you can get grants and scholarships for a bachelors degree at a university. If you want to go to graduate school, there are lots of fellowships, grants, and scholarships available if you did well in undergrad; and especially if you're published. The system isn't perfect, but basically anyone, no matter how poor, can afford to go to a public college in this state - the only problem is that a lot of people aren't aware of all of the financial aid options.
  20. You are very kind with your compliments. However, after studying law for a semester, I've come to the realization that I may not have been meant to be a lawyer after all; I think my talents might be better in used in, for example, a graduate program in nutrition. I qualify for the Outstanding Scholars program for Federal Jobs and I have good work experience/references; so no worries, everything will work out fine. The only reason I brought it up here is that I'm not sure where I'll be living or if I'll have vacation time next summer, so I can't say for sure about going on the trip next year.
  21. True a lot probably is water. I'm only at the gym at night, so I don't have access to a scale in the morning. Just out of curiosity, how much does your weight fluctuate from day to day
  22. The date: January 31 And the year: 1977 (even if you didn't wnat to know)
  23. How much does your weight fluctuate on a daily basis? I weigh myself everynight when I first get to the gym, and for a while now I've averaged out around 190 - but it can actually fluctuate a lot from day to day. For example, this past Sunday I weighed 194, then Monday I weighed 187.5 (a difference of 6.5 pounds in one day!). --- Then tonight (Thursday) I was back up to 193.5.
  24. I just did the breathing exercise on shrugs. I had to do them a lot slower than I was doing them before, but I was able to do higher reps at the same weight I've been stuck on for a while now
