  1. That guy is giant. Does anyone know his routine?
  2. One of my all time favorite songs is a song about religion by the punk rock band Screeching Weasel. The lyrics to this song summarize exactly what I think about religion: If you've ever questioned the beliefs that you hold you're not alone But you oughtta realize that every myth is a metaphor In the case or Christianity and Judaism there exists the belief that spiritual matters are enslaved to history The Buddhists believe that the functional aspects override the myth while other religions use the literal core to build foundations with See half the world sees the myth as fact while it's seen as a lie by the other half and the simple truth is that it's none of that and somehow no matter what the world keeps turning Somehow we get by without ever learning Science and religion are not mutually exclusive in fact for better understanding we take the facts of science and apply them and if both factors keep evolving then we continue getting information but closing off possibilities makes it hard to see the bigger picture Consider the case of the woman whose faith helped her make it through when she was raped and cut up left for dead in a trunk her beliefs held true It doesn't matter if it's real or not cause some things are better left without a doubt if it works then it gets the job done
  3. Tues Sep 27 Did a hundred or so body weight squats and calf raises this afternoon - then went running for over an hour tonight. And by running I mean I was really running, not just a casual jog Tomorrow is pushups day, and I'm aiming for more than 601 total reps
  4. I don't think it's rude to say you only want certain things because of your beliefs. If a Jewish person said they don't want Christmas tree ornaments, then I wouldn't think they are being rude. Same thing with someone who is into human rights or environmentalism, if you don't want sweatshop produced junk then I don't see anything wrong with telling people that.
  5. Saturday - found a neighborhood playground and did pullups on the swingset bars, also went swimming for a couple of hours Sunday - did a bunch of crunches Monday Sep 26 (today) - did hand grips and wrist rolls this morning, plan to do pullups tonight ----------------------------- I have a new routine that I plan to follow: Day 1 AM - hand grippers and wrist rolls PM - pullups Day 2 AM - one leg squats and standing calf raises PM - running Day 3 AM - pushups PM - pushups Day 4 AM - crunches PM - situps Then back to Day 1 some goals: 20 rep set of pullups, 100 pullups in a day, 1000 pushups in a day, 100 rep set of pushups, 50 rep set of one leg squats
  6. Fri Sep 23 I got some hand grippers today (these ones - http://store.everlastboxing.com/everlast-wood-hand-grips.html ) and did several hundred reps with them. I didn't bother counting the exact number of reps, but I got a pretty good burn out of it. Also, I spent about 15-20 minutes using my wrist roller with the Altus door gym, and this was really effective. So now it's good for two exercises - curls and wrist rolls. Later today I plan to do some ab work. Me and my wife and son are about to leave town to go to Orlando to stay with my father-in-law for the weekend. His neighborhood has a fitness center, which I think has a lat machine, and I'm hoping they also have a bar because I want to do hanging situps (w/ legs over bar) tonight, and pullups tomorrow. Oh yeah, and my eating log for today: lots of beans, oatmeal, and water. I'll update when I get back home, probably on Monday. Have a good weekend everyone. VEGAN POWER.

  8. what is mean't by 'non-stop'? I mean, if it's literally non-stop... that's intense. Also the one-armed push-ups. Can they switch arms? Say do 50 on the right arm, then do 50 on the left etc? Thanks for the numbers man, they kick my ass I'm not sure exactly what the non-stop pushup rules are, but for the one arm record you can't switch - you have to do them all with the same arm
  9. I did 600 pushups today. This beats my old personal best by 100 reps, but puts me 400 reps short of Daywalkers showing, and 45,401 short of the 24 hour world record
  10. Thurs Sep 22 600 pushups - new personal record!
  11. Tues Sep 20 leg presses 16 X 400 calf presses 3 x 15 x 400 incline situp and twisting incline situps with 20 lb weight behind head - around 100 total

  13. True man that's awesome that you were able to get your coach to switch over to non-leather equipment. YOu've got persuasion power!
  14. Good to hear. If the city managers in Narleans were a more on the ball, and planned ahead like that, I think they could have done a much better job of getting people and animals out. They have plenty of warning before the storm hit
  15. I'm sure it will! Even though i don't post here (in the log-section) often, i still read your post. I think i'll also inculde what i ate in my log. Have a great time, love and peace, Daywalker I always chekc your training journal when you update too. It'll be good to see your food log on it!
  16. Haha! Veganmadre it's hard to read your comment without laughing because of your avatar. I hope you picked a good one
  17. Since I'm losing my scholarship to law school, I've been applying for government jobs all over the country. My wife and I worked out a list of the places we want to live in the most, and Portland is #1 on the list. We even picked out a place up there - http://www.buckmanapartments.com/bt/environmental.html if I get some kind of offer up there. I'm excited. I hope going up there works out
  18. I wish the hurricane was coming to where I live. I like it when it's windy and rainy, and the waves get a lot bigger right before it hits
  19. I don't dismiss the sport just because they use leather balls. I mean I don't like leather balls, and I wish they would use something else. But imagine if we got a vegan player in the NFL. I would hope he would spend his time promoting plant-based eating and just skip the leather balls issue since about a million times as many cows are killed for McDonald's hamburgers than for footballs
  20. Heavy instrumentals --- makes me want to sing...
