  5. Lotus & I have started collecting things to bring. We'll have stuff for our salsa, 2 or 3 watermelons plus a variety of odds & ends including falafel, cous cous, noodles, teas & more. What are other folks planning on bringing? We should be able to get basic stuff in Lincoln City but the prices & selection of vegan options, organics, etc is probably pretty limited. Then again, Newport is a neat town half an hour south and it has a natural foods coop & a Fred Meyers which is a large chain store w/ decent natural foods section.
  6. The West Coast Convergence for Climate Action Wednesday, August 8th - Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 6 days of low-impact living and high-impact action near the mouth of the Columbia River in Skamokawa, Washington. With extreme weather, massive species extinctions, and melting ice caps becoming a more dire reality each day, it is high time for us to come together to take firm actions against the root causes of climate change. Today, with large fossil fuel development projects planned at the mouth of the Columbia River, this iconic waterway is ground zero in the global struggle against the violence of the energy industry and for a livable climate future. The West Coast Convergence for Climate Action will be situated near a community that is fighting a proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal on the Columbia River. Currently, LNG development is being met with local, community-based resistance due to the immense safety risks, environmental destruction, local economic impact, and social injustice related to this foreign fossil fuel. We are working with and supporting many of the local residents in their campaign against LNG, as well as with activists resisting dams, highway expansions, nuclear and other forms of dirty and unjust energy. The convergence will be a space for celebration, for kids and families, a place to socialize with friends old and new. We intend to show that less energy intensive, less "stuff-centered" living is not just more environmentally friendly, but that less can be so much more FUN!
  7. Howdy folks, I'm curious how folks have been spreading the word on this years gathering? Right now, I know that info has been posted on the NW-Veg & Happy Cow ( http://www.vegetarianchatboard.com ) forums but where else. Personally, I've mostly just mentioned VV'07 to a few folks that I know but now that the Vegan Vacation website: http://www.veganvacations.net has been updated for this years event, I really want to start getting the word out more widely.

  18. Hello & Welcome Francesco! Where in Italy do you live? Italia is high on my list of places that I'd like to visit.
  19. Have fun & share photo's with us please!
  20. As best as i know, the plan is to divide the visitors from far-away up to be housed by locals such as Robert, Darth Lotus & I + anyone else who wants to volunteer. Besides that, it's up to you who ya want to stay with & what part of town ya want to stay in, etc. If the hosts get to pick, you & Flanders are my top choices. Ya can probably even couch-surf around to a different place each night if ya want!
  21. Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far! Donations are still very much needed & always appreciated.
  22. Yo Offense, where ya planning on staying while yr in Portland? You are of course welcome to stay with me & my family. No obligation to do so of course but I wanted to make sure that I offered.
  23. We have a Champion Juicer that we'll bring. Someone please remind me so that I dont forget it in the rush to the beach!
  24. So do ya look like Pam Anderson now?
