  1. Seriously, if I can get to where Joel is, I'd be happy, haha. I've been taking Nitrofusion for a few days and it's awesome. I can see why you like it so much, haha.
  2. Careful with BCAA's though. Many use duck feathers as the source raw material.
  3. There's a positive and negative to everything. Stop focusing on the negative. Dwelling on problems just creates more stress and unwanted negativity. And I only hit the gym twice a week, so don't get down on yourself for going three times.
  4. I have nothing against fasting, and I won't deny it's history in the practices of many cultures. However, when it comes to bodybuilding, fasting just doesn't fit it. At least for me anyway.
  5. Happy Birthday buddy! If it wasn't for you we wouldn't all be here talking right now, and I know I wouldn't be lifting if it wasn't for this site. So I'm taking this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for Vegan Bodybuilding. In the end though, Ronnie has a way of making all of this said in such a simple and effective way... YEAH BUDDY!!!!
  6. Mocha Nitrofusion for 24.99 today (until 11:00 PST tomorrow). Not a super deal, but still a good price. Grab it before it's gone!
  7. does this work out with sweetener instead of the nectar and without the rolled spelt, what do you think? What do you mean sweetener instead of nectar? Like sugar or another dry sweetener? And I'm sure they'd be fine without the rolled spelt. Just add more protein powder if it gets too gooey.
  8. I don't need any, but I'm curious if anyone used/uses any fat burning supplements. It'd be good to know which are vegan so that those interested don't have to go e-mail spamming companies for info on particular ingredients. Even if you don't use any, list any Vegan ones you know of.
  9. You don't need to load creatine one week out of the month every month. Who told you to do that? Haha. Generally you'll hear about a loading phase, where you take anywhere from 10-20 grams a day for a week or so, then you move onto a maintenance phase, where you consume 5-7 grams. The best time to take it for maintenance is after a workout with fruit juice, like orange juice. For loading take it in smaller doses throughout the day (totaling 10-20 grams). Read this for more info on creatine and vegan lifting in general. It's a great article.
  10. Dartmouth is in Nova Scotia, Canada. It's okay, but most people still don't know what vegans are here, haha. The app I have is GymBuddy. Works pretty well. Tons better than iFitness.
  11. Everything is in pounds unless otherwise stated. I wish some of the numbers were kg, haha.
  12. Really short and sweet today. Workout partner couldn't make it again. Sick. It's funny that he's always ill or sore, and I never am. I keep myself from coughing "go vegan" under my breath when he calls because he's sore or sick. He doesn't throw steaks at me though so I keep things civil. Workout felt good. I know I could have done more, but I'm happy that my squat numbers are going up. I'll probably still stick with full body twice a week though, since I don't like sticking to one or two body parts. I like killing every part of my body every time, haha. Lat Pulldowns 90 x 12 90 x 12 90 x 12 Leg Extension 80 x 12 80 x 12 80 x 12 Calf Raise 170 x 12 170 x 12 170 x 12 Crunches 105 x 25 105 x 25 105 x 25 Squat 115 x 10 135 x 5 155 x 10 Leg Curl 80 x 12 80 x 12 80 x 12 Crunches 105 x 25 105 x 25 105 x 25 Dumbbell Row 30 x 12 30 x 12 30 x 12 Crunches 105 x 25 105 x 25 105 x 25 I'm going to try to pull all the other numbers up (like the row and lat pulldowns). I can't wait to see my progress a year from now.
  13. I am experimenting with these, and my last batch turned out great! 1 cup protein powder (soy, rice, pea, hemp mix) 1 cup natural peanut butter 1 cup organic rolled spelt 7 tbsp agave nectar vanilla almond milk as needed Mix protein powder and spelt in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl put peanut butter and heat in microwave (if it's cold. If not just use as is) for about 1-1 1/2 minutes. Mix agave nectar with peanut butter and pour into larger bowl. Mix throughly. Add a splash or two of almond milk and mix again. Keep doing this until desired (or creamy) texture is reached. This has served me well so far. I laughed when I realized I pretty much replaced everything in the original recipe with something else, haha.
  14. Nutritional yeast is great. I put it on brown rice spaghetti and sometimes just eat it straight. Delicious stuff. Most creatine is vegan. I still haven't heard of a brand that isn't. My supplementation is pretty simple. 5g of both creatine and glutamine mixed with orange juice as a post workout drink. I drink a shake of sprouted brown rice protein 30-60 minutes after taking the post workout drink. I have one shake during lunch or around that time and one before going to bed. On days I don't work out I have two shakes throughout the day and one before bed. I don't see a need for anything else. All pre-workout supplements are pure hype. If you really want a boost for a workout either take a protein shake with brewed Mate instead of water an hour before or take 5g of creatine with water or orange juice 30 minutes before. Hope that helps a bit.
  15. Rather than do full body again I did Arms and Chest. Tomorrow I'm doing Legs and Back. Hopefully this summer I can start a split routine, but right now during school I don't have the time. 16. EDIT: Bottom of page one on will be all HIT (High Intensity Training). I'll be doing some full negative workouts as well from time to time. I just got an app on my ipod for tracking my workouts, so from now on I'll be posting my workouts in here. Food log to come soon! Shorter than usual, and my workout buddy had a sore back so he couldn't go, so I didn't get a chance to try some higher weights. The weighted crunches sure are brutal though, haha.
  17. Awesome site. Today they are selling 5lbs. of NitroFusion (Tropical only sadly) for 19.99. The whole idea of the site is they sell one item a day and only let you buy up to five of it. It's owned by Bodybuilding.com, so it's pretty much just stock from the BB Store at a sweet price.
  18. I eat a lot of brown rice. I eat four or five cooked cups at a time. There really isn't any simple bulking foods in my mind. I just eat a lot of what I like.
  19. I've never been a bar guy to begin with, but I was a huge party guy in the past, so I know where you're coming from. If they are your friends they'll accept the fact that you're not going to drink or eat shitty food around them, and more often than not they'll congratulate you on it. If they shun you because you're not participating like you used to, then maybe it's time you found some new friends. If I'm going to a friend's place and I know I'll be there a while I usually pick up food and bring it over. Sometimes I make food for myself and them when I'm there. It gives me something to eat, and it shows non-vegans how good vegan food is! I don't hang out with vegans actually, which is funny. No one I hang out with vegan, but I never have a problem with it. Just think ahead. If you're going out for a while, bring some food, and if you're going to party where there is booze and you don't want to be the outcast, by root beer in glass bottles. Seriously. It takes time but after a while it'll be no thang.
  20. Haha, I know. I just had a good laugh seeing two of my topics there.
