  1. Cubby; For someone how you put it "obsessed with whole foods" you sure have turned me onto some good ideas and protein powders over the years. How do you find this stuf???? I think this might be at least worth a shot as an alternative to protein powder; from looking at the ingredients. I might give it a shot. Thanks again. At one time, I heard a company was trying to make a quinoa protein. I wonder what ever happened to that.
  2. its their website Joe, but thank you!! It's a great honor and a big stepping stone! Very excited.
  3. very late wishing you a huge congrats!!!! Thank you for representing the Vegan Community so well!!!!! Awesome job!
  4. The editor of Oxygen Magazine contacted me and they're doing an interview, picture and Sample Vegan diet on their website of me. It should be live on their website mid-April. Just the website for now, but what a great opportunity to represent Vegans!!!! I am humbled and honored!
  5. Hey... I was just thinking... For those of us who don't believe Soy is food made by the devil and going to turn us all into mutants... Isn't it COOL how cheap you can get Soy Protein for now these days???
  6. I go to craigslist for EVERYTHING! Recumbant bike - $30 3 sets dumbbells $20 Looking on craigslist regularly is how I afford EVERYTHING. It's a godsend.
  7. I just browsed the last couple pages to see whatcha been up to and I'm so sorry to hear about your foot!! How's that comin along? I'll read more when I have time but from what I've seen I've been impressed with your ability to push through this obstacle and still get your workouts in!!! You should be so proud of yourself for that!!!! Have a great day
  8. nice workouts! I'm going to catch up on your journal when I have more time but lookin good and strong and consistent!!!!!! I'll peek in again soon!
  9. Yes Robert, we need to get together soon. And I'm ready to help you out at an Expo again.. just say when. I feel amazing today. This year I went through some really really dark days. I struggle a lot with food and wine as an escape and when I'm feeling out of control in these areas, I withdrawal. I think it will be a lifelong struggle but my craving to make a difference in this world will always keep me coming out the other side. Right now I have some AMAZING opportunities in front of me and I feel on top of the world. I'm not where I want to be but I WILL be very soon. It's odd how I forget how amazing I feel when I'm getting in long workouts, in control of my food and limiting my wine intake to a couple glasses on weekends only. I feel if I were to give that up completely, I'd rebel... so as much as I'd like to take the wine out completely, I'm very proud of myself for limiting it to a couple glasses on weekends. Yesterday 1 hour incline walk 1 hour recumbant bike Had shoulder workout planned but the day was too busy so I'll have to do it after my morning client, then legs in the evening. That's going to be a heavy heavy workout day. I'll have to add 1 extra carb serving today. Meeting for my Green Studio got pushed to next week. I'm officially booked for the fitness model gig at the end of the month, I'm dating an amazing guy right now, I picked up 4 extra clients in the past few weeks and life couldn't be better. Next week might be a different story but today feels amazing and so have the past few days. I want to hold onto this moment. Kisses to everyone!!!! haha
  10. Sex? Not yet, but I'm learning to just ride it out when I feel like induldging in my addictions. The only thing that ever works is setting big goals, as I self-sabotage less when I have something on my plate in the near future to shoot for... Contest; photo shoot, etc.
  11. 30 min beach jog 1 hr 30 min Ellyptical Legs Step Ups on Super high step 1 Leg Leg Press Leg Xtensions Calf Raises Presentation to discuss Green Studio tomorrow. I feel good!!!
  12. Yeah... everytime I try to steer someone in the right direction of a healthy diet, protein requirements... eating "clean" and unprocessed foods.... my advice is always followed by lots of people saying... "Forget that, eat whatever you want". It actually saddens me because I do care about my health and the health of Vegans (the more healthy Vegans, the more serious we're taken in soceity)... but I get tired of arguing my point all the time over there... so I'm rarely rarely rarely there. Saturated fat isn't healthy. There's other oils to choose from that are better so why even have it? My favorite oil lately has been Safflower or Sunflower. So inexpensive too.
  13. Thank you VeganJoe Lobsterrific and blabbate for poppin in to say hi and the encouragement! Thanksgiving was very very yummy! My little brothers described it as "exquisite"... this coming from 2 die-hard meat eaters. Everyone asked for 3rds. I ate Tofurky roast, Green Beans and Roasted Veggies only. Very very tasty though. Yesterday Back One Arm Rows Lat Pulldowns Bent Over Rows Upright Rows V-Ups (4 sets 90 seconds) 1 hour ellyptical 1 hr recumbant bike Today 1 hour slow jog 20 min jog with clients 40 min recumbant bike Tomorrow is legs, 2 more hours of cardio, then a rest day. Still a challenge to get the Gallon of water in. So I accepted the Fitness Model job. Bring on the pain and relentless hours of cardio!!!!!!! Monday I have the meeting to talk about the EcoGym. Tonight I have a quick late night date. Already planned accordingly to find a restaurant that does a Veggie Burger wrapped in lettuce. It's our 3rd date... so far so good He's coming in from Lake Havasu (from Tgiving with relatives) and I told him if he was too tired we'd do it another time, so we'll see. Too stressed about meeting Monday to see him tomorrow so we're trying to make it work tonight. Be back soon!
  14. Cooking a Thanksgiving feast for my lil brothers and my daughter. Tofurky Roaast, mashed potatoes, green beans, chickpea brocolli casserole, roasted veggies and some sort of yummy vegan dessert I haven't thought of yet. Can't wait!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
  15. ugh. Has it really been THAT long since I posted???? Well, just popped in to get this journal alive and kickin again. I have some huge opportunities coming up this week. On Monday I have a meeting to discuss my plans to open an Eco-Friendly Personal Training Studio in the only Environmentally Friendly mall in Orange County (maybe even in California? I don't know). They have 2 Vegan restaurants and all Eco-Friendly, Raw Or Vegan stores and services. It's VERY exciting and they love my idea so please wish me luck for Monday. If I'm able to get this, it would be one of the most exciting opportunities of my life! Also, just this past weekend, I got a call to be a fitness model in a DVD series. He wants to film at the end of December and that makes me VERY nervous. I wish I had 6 weeks to prepare because I'm so not in fitness model shape at the moment. Do I say yes and then "go for it" knowing I might not make it? Or do I say "no" and trust that our timing wasn't right for this project. Oh well... I could have worse problems than alot of opportunities falling into my lap at once. I am greatful. Okay, off to get my bodyfat tested and shop for a yummy Vegan Thanksgiving that I'm making for my family! Vegan Tofurky, Roasted Vegetables, Green Beans, ChickPea/Broccolli Casserole, Mashed Potatoes and maybe a Chocolate Silk Pie if I'm really ambitious!!! ha ha I'm only eating the tofurky and veggies of course!
  16. couture547... and your basing your opinion of a recommended macronutrient breakdown on what? Your advice sounds like a GREAT macronutrient ratio for an ENDURANCE athlete. just sayin.
  17. I don't know Troy's height, but check out this journal for some great tips. If you read the whole thing, you'll also see his trials and tribulations figuring out what works for him as far as food. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=8649 When you said... "I don't care what the foods are as long as they're Vegan and wholesome"... I don't really know what you mean by that, cuz I think the types of foods plays a major role in your success. Good luck
  18. I am constantly humbled and flattered by the shock that I see in people's faces when I tell them my age. You can just brush off a few of these comments as people who are trying to flatter you... but when it happens constantly.. you figure it must be true. This is twice as flattering living in an area (Orange County) where every other women at my age has had their face injected with something or used some sort of help to prevent aging. So I can only contribute it to the Vegan diet and being really fit. Nothing else explains it. There are also several examples on this board of women in my age range that look at least a decade younger than their actual age. What's more, being a FAIRLY new Vegan... (I think it's about 3 years or so for me now), the age that people guess seems to be going DOWN with each birthday. So it seems the longer I'm a Vegan the more anti-aging effect it is having on my skin. Has anyone else experienced this? People in society telling you that you look a lot younger than you are? I think the caveat would be it has this effect on people that are doing a Vegan diet very HEALTHFULLY (getting a very wide variety of macronutrients, vitamins mineral, etc), not smoking, drinking heavily, doing drugs, not sunbathing regularly, etc. etc. I am truly beginning to think that a Vegan diet might be one of the best anti-aging remedies out there... like an instant face lift
  19. Because you've been numbing yourself for SOOOOO long, you're FEELING all the things that you would've felt all along but always escaped into substances. Sometimes life SUCKS and sometimes days are REALLY HARD and no fun and you just put one foot in front of the other knowing that it won't last. Always remember that you've been in a habit of numbing the good and the bad, so when you have those crappy times, remember that everything comes to pass, and eventually you'll have a happy moment that'll feel so much better than when you were numbing it out and not feeling it. All we have in life is a series of beautiful, wonderful happy moments in between a bunch of crap and BS that we have to sift through to get to those moments but it is worth it.
  20. I will post more later to people who commented... and thanks to all who popped in to say hi and offer words of encouragement. I really appreciate it. Keep 'em coming... But for now, I just want to get this logged in for accountability. Wed - REST DAY will only take one when I absolutely need it. Thurs Overhead Tri Xtension Front Raises Military Press Bent Arm Lat Raise Rope Pulldown Rear Delt Raises 20 min Ellyptical 40 min Recumbant Today 1 hour Stepmill SOOOOOO trying to get up the motivation to do the other hour. I said I'd babysit my neighbors kids so I have to do it while trying to watch her kids and mine. Girls are fine, but I never quite know what to do with boys... in real life or in children... LMAO Okay, 'nuff procrastinatin.. time to get my ass on the bike. Oh... I've been trying to wear these Scuba type shorts which are called anti-cellulite shorts. It is all about reducing the rear end, so I do about 40% in these shorts that make you sweat your ass off literally. Again, its supposed to reduce cellulite but I'm thinking it just sheds alot of water weight... Hey it's inches and it keeps me MENTALLY positive to see myself shriking so if it's just anti-bloat, I"ll take it where I can get it. Shriking is shrinking and I'm maintaining muscle so it's all good. Kay, getting on the bike now... don't try and stop me
  21. Cool! I used to love your ramblings! no joke, I did! Looking forward to them again I hear ya 100% about not accepting excuses from clients. I've heard them all, SAID THEM ALL and tried them all. Ultimately we all decide how bad you want a goal and excuses don't move anyone any closer toward a goal, do they? I have a lot of respect for you knowing the kind of discipline it takes to get as sculpted as you have on a Vegan diet. It is hard stuff sista, and you are one disciplined chicky-poo! xoxo
  22. Thanks so much for this link. It's definitely inspired me to experiment. I once tried making a veggie dip out of Gemma and it was so ing I wanted to puke. I'm not a fan of the taste of Pea Protein either, but I drink it. Brown Rice is my current fave though
  23. This is probably contributing to the plateau. Eating smaller meals less often is more condusive to fat loss. When you go long stretches of time without food, the body slows down the rate at which you burn fat. The exact opposite of what you want to acheive. And if your fairly new to working out and continuing to eat 2 to 3 meals, it will slow down the process further because you are demanding more activity out of it, but not refueling properly. First step would be breaking up those 2 to 3 meals into 5 to 6 smaller meals.
  24. http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3079/gibbonmonkeydogtail.gif one of my absolute faves too. I need to put it on my myspace page.
