  1. Yep, she'd be nothing without him these days, hence why she is still around after the whole Rebecca Loos thing and one or two others (allegedly). When they first started dating tho, she was the more famous and successful of the two. I think it must be tough for her now to realise that to all intents and purposes she is a nobody without David basically. She does have rather an inflated view of herself. I don't - most guys I know too - find her attractive at all. Dunno why she regards herself as some kind of style icon either......
  2. Quite. I did a 20mile run in atrocious weather nearly five years ago. Never really ran that far before - had only done a few 13-16 mile runs before in my life. Anyhow, thought I'd be OK. I went off too fast, at say my 10k, 10 mile or half-marathon speed, and got gradually weaker and fainter until I collapsed at around 17 miles. Still got the scars on my hand.
  3. I think it's for David's benefit as much as for Victoria's. No top European clubs really wanted him, he didn't really want to play for a lesser Premiership club or maybe any other Prem club apart from Man U. It's an oppurtunity for him to make even more astronomical amounts of money, but I believe he is sincere in trying to help launch soccer in the US ( although why he should succeed when the likes of Pele and George Best failed is lost on me, when he is not even half the player they were). Sad that so many - not you Tigress - have confused celebrity with ability, but hey if a good looking chap is what it takes to kick-start soccer in the US so be it..... He has also one eye on his post football career - Hollywood/LA and Posh n Becks are well suited ( welcome to each other in my opinion ). Obviously he will continue to have a successful celebrity career for many years be that in modelling, acting or just being seen at the right parties with the right people. That his US soccer school is so close to LA Galaxy is also a factor here. I agree though that the talentless Victoria only clings to fame by association with David these days. I'm not a fan of her either - did you ever see those 'Bored of the Beckham's' tees a few years ago?
  4. I'll be doing my local half-marathon in March - I usually average 20th out of 1,000 odd runners. I might also be racing at Bramley with Runner in February. Need to start racing more, coz my training never slips.
  5. It served him right for not taking it at all seriously. He barely trained for it, I think only got the odd 10 or 15 mile run in beforehand. You have to treat a marathon with respect so he got what he deserved basically. He was quite arrogant and dismissive about others running fast marathon times ( his ex-wife included ) beforehand and about his own predicted time and also that he didn't need to do much preparation. At least he'll be more humble if he ever attempts another marathon. I read a couple of good articles on this - can't find them anymore.......

  7. Asshole. A lot of Staffs get stolen in the UK - not only as training fodder for fighting dogs, but from druggies who can earn a quick few quid for them. A lot of dogs get stolen in the UK now by the travelling community type - couldn't give a monkeys if it's politically correct to say that or not as it is most certainly true - purely to get a ransom for them.
  8. Yeah, I've long knew that bread contained L-Cysteine. I posted these links over on VF nearly a year ago: http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=2310 http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/weblog/comments/1046/ Still eat bread tho.
  9. I was probably a stubborn mule. There is a really sexist reply to that, but I refuse to go there lol Go on, I wanna read the reply now. I won't be offended, dunno about the other blokes on here though. I'm sure they'll forgive you, or reply in kind.
  10. I was probably a stubborn mule.
  11. It's a cool pic Tigress. I'm especially impressed by your tortoise like ability to retract your neck.
  12. I watched a documentary on Saddam's Iraq about a decade ago and it showed some of Saddam's elite troops/commando's/bodyguard units - can't remember which exactly - in training. Part of that training involved eating a dog alive. It showed footage of several men literally taking chunks out of the still live dog with their own teeth. Never forget the look of pure terror on that dogs face.
  13. Oh man i woulda slathered that nazi with a vegan tongue bath. Conservative = Nazi?
  14. Well he pretty much implicated himself in this interview: http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/news/news/tm_headline=ripper-hunt%2D-the-suspect%26method=full%26objectid=18275623%26siteid=62484-name_page.html Already interviewed four times previously, so was a person 'of interest' to the police. He also lives very, very close to where a murdered student was found a few years back.....
  15. Well the problem isn't that you said it, it's that you thought it. That you said it is good because now we can at least try help you quit thinking such unemphathetic thoughts. There is no problem in that I thought it was not really the right moment to make jest of spree killings. Thanks all the same, but I certainly do not seek or need your help in changing my thoughts.
  16. Sorry, I should of clarified - yes, I realise your point about ultimately being responsible's for oneself's safety was serious - and a valid and well made point too. There was a feature on the evening news here how attendance at self-defence classes in Ipswich has soared, unsurprisingly given recent occurances. So you are right - the women can take measures to increase their own safety. However, I doubt if few - or any - prostitutes were at these classes. Of course it can only be a good thing though that the general female populace in the area are taking precautions, as one of the police's fears is that the killer will start acting more indiscriminately and target non-prostitues. That those females have greater knowledge and awareness of personal protection generally - if the killer is hopefully brought to justice - is no bad thing either. I'm always interested to read your posts about self-defense, personal safety and firerams training. In what seems to me to be an ever more violent world - at least my perception of whats been happening on the streets of the UK in recent years - I value your perspective on personal protection.
  17. First off Tarz, it is nice to see you back. Secondly, I am sorry that you took any sort of offense to what was said, I really didn't mean anything. Richard does seem shaken up, and does often joke about his "ninja skills", and so I just thought he'd like a little laugh. I'm sorry if I offended you, 100% not my intention. Hey - I didn't mean anything personal towards you, Richard or Loveliberate. Maybe my initial post was a little bit blunt as well.... Yeah, I know Richard's alter-ego 'The Ninja' is a forum in-joke, and none of you were being serious, I just felt the events are too fresh - too raw - at the moment to treat in this manner. I understand your frustration Richard, we just have to faith in the skills of the police and other experts and hope the killer(s) are apprehended as soon as possible. In terms of things you can do, maybe a small Xmas donation to a charity or support group that helps street workers break free from the vicious circle of hard drugs and prostitution would be a nice gesture?
  18. Well, I tell it how you like people to tell it according to your signature, 'what I really think'. I did really think that it was ing and sad - offensive too - so I said as much. As for 'going about things the right way' with regard to forum etiquette and exchanges, well you of all people shouldn't be telling anybody how to conduct themselves on forums going by your past history.
  19. Your lack of empathy is sad. Silly comment. I lack no empathy for the victims of these despicable crimes nor for Richard in living in relatively close proximity to where these murders are being committed. Yes, there is such a thing as black humour, and I can understand why there is a need for it, especially amongst those whose work brings them into direct contact with grim and tragic events such as this. However, there is a time and a place for such things, and therefore I think it is totally inapproriate to make light and joke of extremely recent - and still very much ongoing - events by stupid posts about dressing up as a ninja to catch the perpetrator and taking photo's and other such nonsense.
  20. Disgusting and very sad that people make jokes about such heinous crimes.
  21. I thought that was really irrelevant too. If they wanted to do a documentary on steroids, would of been more interesting to see a program where it concentrated on steroids and bodybuilders where at least it makes the muscles big, hard and ripped - not like an inflated balloon. Valentino is regarded as a joke. Notice how he never took his top off either - because the rest of his physique would of been even worse and not in proportion, because presumably he didn't inject the same amount of synthol in the rest of his body.
  22. I saw it too. Quite humorous. It's repeated tomorrow ( Thursday ) at 11pm if you've get the desire to see the complete episode Tigress, or anyone in the UK ( Jonathan, Buzz? ) who missed it first time round. Valentino is just a circus act. Is it synthol he pumps in his arms. I read an article about him once, I think it said the synthol just disolves and circulates around the body? He used to be a natural bodybuilder and had a good physique, before going doing the freak show road. I thought it should of showed the boy's physique as it was ( pre-steroids ) if he wanted to one day be the biggest. It annoyed me when it constantly showed the clip of the needle and tablets, quite pointless. Strange program - wasn't really about Valentino, bit about this kid, bit about Michalik. Bit of a mess really. Did anyone see the one about the female bodybuilder about a year ago? That was much more interesting.
  23. Will & Aaron - Compassionategirl has left. A real shame considering she was one of the most active people on here and she was instrumental in supporting the forum in the early days. This forum will not be the same without her.
