  1. I wish I learned earlier that it's okay to eat. I was so obsessed with losing body fat that I was gaining very slowly. Now I'm growing muscles faster than ever. I eat all the time, never let myself go hungry, and I can still see my abs so I know I'm not overdoing it.
  2. I worked in a turkey factory where they killed and processed the birds. I was the janitor there and even though I never saw a turkey, I cleaned up their blood.. their skins.. their bodyparts.. I couldn't believe how barbaric it was. I had no hesitation becoming a vegan after that.
  3. I think he looks cute in that picture. I must admit I envy people who can dance. When I do it, people think I'm drunk or handicapped.

  5. I think raw food diets are awesome! I wanna learn more about them too. I bet if I ate more raw food I wouldn't have as many stomach issues..

  8. Yeah. I hate my sister's boyfriend though. He is an ass. He lives on a pig farm and has no conscience when it comes to slaughtering things. The other day I said to my sis (with captain numbnuts in the same room) "The guy from 'Art Attack' died!" and he said "SWEET!!" What a jerk. Really. I used to watch Art Attack as a kid. It was one of my favorite shows. I was sad. I was sad when Mr. Dressup and Charles Shultz died too. The fact that someone would say something so disrespectful about someone I grew up watching and admiring is just sick. He's a horrible human being. I really idolized those guys cuz I was (and still am) an artistic kid. I've always been more sensitive to the things around me. Hence why I went vegan. I couldn't eat animals or animal products knowing how much suffering they go through.

  10. Hemp protein can come in raw. I have some. It tastes like crap and it doesn't mix so it's like drinking sand, but my muscles love it. I mix it in with juice usually and chug a lug.
  11. I'm going through the same thing, man. I'm depressed, though I don't really show it. I quit taking anti-depressants for about 2 weeks and was fine until one day I had a mental breakdown over my food processor not working. I had to start taking it again, unfortunately. I have problems finding work since I don't have a vehicle. The idea of driving doesn't thrill me, but I wanna start driving a scooter.. That way it's not as bad for the environment as driving a gas guzzling beater car. Finding a job gets harder when you lose hope. If you have your mind set "Nobody will hire me" which I tend to do.. People notice your lack of confidence and probably won't wanna hire you. If there is simply no work in your area right now (which is a problem for me as well) try taking something you can do temporarily until something better comes up. I cleaned toilets in a turkey factory for a few months (one of the many reasons I went vegan, actually.) it was horrible but the pay was decent. Right now I'm selling T-shirts on the internet lol
  12. Lol wife swap was funny, I liked it. I like Extreme Makeover cuz I get hair and makeup tips.. And fashion tips too. I would love a mini makeover where I get hair and makeup and new clothes. The only surgery I would want is the Lasik eye surgery cuz I'm near sighted with astigmatism and wearing glasses is a pain in the butt. Everything else is good. I love how I look now. Like Veganpotter says, it must be the Vega!

  14. I don't even count how many grams of protein I get half the time. My most protein rich meal is breakfast, because after a good night's sleep, the body needs some protein. I'll eat a big bowl of cereal or oatmeal.. or have a vega shake and something. I add protein to every meal I eat. If I have salad, I'll throw some raw nuts and seeds on top. Sometimes I'll put tofu on it. I like to make hummus and dip raw veggies in it, or eat it on a whole wheat pita. I aim for about 5-6 meals a day. I'm in muscle gaining mode and eat whenever possible. So far I'm getting great gains! If you're not lifting a lot of weights, then you don't need a lot of protein. The excess protein just gets detoxified by the liver, and excreted by the kidneys. It can be hard work for your body to get rid of it if you're not using it all. Since you are your trainer's first vegan client, it is a great opportunity for you both to learn from each other.   15. Get well soon Robert. I seem to have come down with some sort of headcold too. Either that or allergies. It's hard to tell at this time of the year.
  16. I should eat less grains cuz it seems to be causing a lot of irritation in my bowels. I just love cereal though. I've eaten it every day since I learned how to eat solid food. When my mom was pregnant with my I'd move around and get excited whenever she ate cheerios and bananas. I was born to eat cereal!!! Since this topic is about raw chocolate I just wanted to say that I had some awesome vegan raw fudge at this place called Shakti's in Vancouver. It's on Commercial Dr. if anyone is in the area and wants to check it out. It tastes a lot like chocolate Vega actually.
  17. If I found meat in a veggie dish and ate it and found out later I'd probably cry. I'm super emotional these days.
  18. Idiots is probably a harsh word lol. I just can't stand these meat munchin farmer people who don't think about the food they're eating. My sister is comin around though. She found me a nice vegetarian chili recipe and she chatted with me about veganism a bit. My mom and her boyfriend have tried my vegan spaghetti sauce and actually LIKE it!
  19. Okay so today was kinda weird foodwise. Having some stomach issues. Is it just me or does Vega cause really wicked farts? Breakfast: Big ass bowl of Vector and some Bio K soy formula for my irritated bowels Went to Starbucks on the way to Vancouver and got some coffee flavored coffee with soy milk Today in Van I went to a guitar show n' shine. Bif Naked was actually there briefly. She's almost done her chemo and then she's going into the studio to finish some albums. Met "The Machine", her guitarist. (I seem to meet all of Bif's guitarists) and donated some money towards breast cancer research For lunch I went to Yogi's, which is a nice vegetarian restaurant on Commercial Drive. Had an interesting vegan dish.. No idea what it was called but it was like a giant potato pancake made with chick pea flour. Had some samosa too. This place makes the best samosa I've ever had. I ate too much and went home and had a nap. I think I'm coming down with a cold cuz I have some sinus pain and just feel like poo in general. My day would have been complete if I got to meet Robert too but Vancouver is a big city! Also checked out this place called Shakti which makes some really good raw vegan fudge. Even though I have a cold, I had an awesome day and I'm happier than a shit covered fly! Dinner: Silvio made some yummy vegan pasta for me. He also made some fresh juice with his juicer. It had apples, carrots, and rhubarb in it. It was delish! Now it's time to come home to my meat eating family. They went grocery shopping today by the looks of it and bought meat, bread, and pastries. No veggies or fruits. They tried buying me some canned soups. (I think they're for me, since nobody in this house eats soup that doesn't contain the words "beef" "chicken" or "cream") They got lentil and mushroom barley but it's generic brand and contains beef extract and cheese. I really wish they'd learn how to read ingredients lists instead of buying the cheapest thing they can find. I have to give them credit for trying but after 2 months you'd think they'd know what a vegan is by now. *sigh* Moving out next month hopefully. Making some vegan pudding right now. Waiting for it to chill. Should be good. ^^ Ate the vegan pudding. Came out like cement. The boyfriend didn't like it buy I did. I just hope it doesn't upset my stomach.
  20. Okay so I added some silken tofu in an effort to save the pudding and it came out really good. It's all gone hehehe
  21. I tried making this with chocolate vega and it was awful so I added more soy milk than I was supposed to. Now it's like a really thick milkshake. I have it chilling in my fridge right now lol. Usually when I improvise recipes they come out good but not this time.

  23. A good pair of running shoes is probably the best way. Make sure they fit properly and allow your feet to "breathe". Running shoes should be nice and light. What I do when I buy new shoes is that I'll put them on and jog around the store in them to make sure they don't rub up against my heels and stuff. I also jump around in them.
  24. i bought some Manitoba Hemp Milk at the health food market. It's really good, especially the chocolate, but it has a lot of fat per serving :/
  25. Today's foods: Busy day but I think I managed to eat enough. Breakfast: Vector and soy milk, coffee Lunch: Tofu on vermicelli with veggies Snack: Raw almonds (and chocolate.. I think I ate too much ) a banana Dinner: Salad with pan fried tofu on top and raw seeds Snack: an Orange, raw almonds, english muffin with jam and soy marg.
