Hi! Until thre months ago I hadn't attended any real physical activities for quite a long time, but then I began to do Muay Thai-classes. They are quite physicly demanding, but I got really hooked quite fast and I really do love the sport. Right now I do Muay Thai three times a week (5 hours totally). I like it so much it has really inspired me to begin living a healthier life overall and adopt a healthier diet et.c, I'm gonna go out running one day a week as well now when the weather is a little nicer. I want to get bigger and build some muscle, but what kind of diet should I been following if I want to build some muscle (and hopefully get rid of that little belly I mana…

I just caught this show on the internet through ovguide.com . Dissapointing fight , wrestler ground and pounds inexperienced bjj guy . I do not think anyone would like the fact that he went to shake hands second round , and then shot for a double-leg .The tall bjj guy needed to throw some elbows from guard . I think he might have had a better chance at a reversal from a body-triangle , being he was so tall and big . No sprawl , take-down defense , ground defense for the loss .I think Wes Sims "The project" replaces the guy who gets beat . I want to see Wes Sims vs Kimbo Slice .

It's all over. I think I'm more excited about UFC 67 than I ever was about 66. It wasn't bad tho. The streaming UFC On Demand thing works really well, once I'd gotten the update for a browser I never use - IE7. I missed the Bisping fight due to said update. I really enjoyed seeing Jason MacDonald submit Chris Leben, not just because MacD is a fellow Canuck, but because I just can't stand Leben. The Griffin-Jardine fight was surprising and great, until Forrest proved that he's a good winner, but a sore loser. I think him running off right after the bout was a career blunder. I hope it doesn't hurt his chances of getting good fights, I like him as a fighter. I…

Haru's picks: Hughes Silva Riggs Lister Sanchez Davis(Mir's boy still?) Gonzanga Fisher Horn we should have friendly competitions and whoever predicts the most wins per event, wins that one and gets a point. Then we can keep track of points as the events go on. What do you guys think?

from http://www.mmaweekly.com how fabulous is that Quote: "The Ultimate Fighting Championship today officially confirmed what has been rumored for quite some time now, their official return to the United Kingdom on April 21, 2007. Their first show in Great Britain in nearly five years is set to take place in Manchester, England at the MEN Arena, with tickets going on sale on Monday, Feb. 19." Quote:"early rumors suggest the inclusion of Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffin, and Andrei Arlovski as likely participants on the April 21st fight card."

Personally I'm a big fan of ufc (and pride and anything else I rent off amazon) but the claim (sometimes made) that it represents a true competition of the various martial arts to me seems innaccurate. Im not saying the rules should be changed but with the set up as it is it seems to be a combination of wrestling, ju-jitsu and kickboxing. Most the other martial arts are nerfed by some part of the rules. I dont espouse real violence. I do think though that the hugging in pride and ufc would not occur in a 'real' fight. Thats to say take downs and mounts would occur but the stuck situation wouldn't. (Of course my 'real' fight experience is just a few tussles as a kid) …

I just wanted to start this thread because ive been watching it and i was wondering if anyone else here has too. To start off 2 good teams. But i want Titos team to win. Mainly because i dont really like Ken Shamrock. So far team Tito 2 wins 1 loss and vice versa for Team Shamrock.

I dont know if there is already a topic for this, I do not see one . in the previews I am glad to see, randy as a coach. surprised to see GSP. Only because I never really see him anywhere, so this will be great. Do these fighters even need coaching? or just a chance? I am confused as to what is the cut off point for contestants, as far as qualifying for the show. It seems that some of them have been successful there last outing , so that means the ability to work up the ladder on there own. Oh well, as with everyother TUF show I will be glued to the TV. I wonder if the format will be like the first two or like the third.

I know we have a bunch of Ultimate Fighting fans on here so I started this thread to chat about it. I'm not really into it but some of my friends compete and train at my gym. There are some general threads about martial arts or boxing, but this one can be specific to Ultimate Fighting. Have Fun!

So my computer crashed and burned a few weeks ago and I was unable to post my pics of Mike and I running the great pumpkin run 5k. My time was terrible but I wasn't really trying because I had had a miscarriage 5 days before the race so I have put the time thing out of my head (lol and yes my doc said I could run) but I still wanted to share my pics. Mike is my cave husband. He dressed up, I wasn't totally in the spirit. Sorry you can totally see his man boob. I am running the "perky turkey" 5k this sunday. I am looking forward to it.

Hey folks, while I'm trying to learn dancing tango argentino (but: my question wont be about dancing, this is just for background) i came to some (as it seems to me) physical limits in flexibility of my upper body. In tango, one must be able to rotate the upper body horizontally. I've got some problems with this exercise, predominently while doing it quick and short or accurately. Now comes to my question: What muscles, what antagonists and what other factors determine upper body rotation? Is there something else then lateral abdominal muscles? Some minor muscles? anything? And: How can i train a) a more smoothy and accurate and b) a more quick and strong (but still a…
