I've had problems with pea protein for a long time. The taste is unpleasant and it's hard to mask it with anything. Thus far only decent shake i've made was to blend lot of berries along the protein, which mask the taste to some degree. Worst thing I tried was adding cocoa powder. It tasted absolutely foul and I had to spit it out, and pour the rest away I use about 1 dl of the stuff at once to get good amount of protein. On the other hand the more it is used, stronger the taste will be.. What recipes have you invented to make this stuff drinkable?

I have a massive thing for peanut butter. And now that I appear to be adding it to my overnight oats for a bit of extra protein in the mornings I was wondering if anyone had any vegan (or non vegan, but still veggie) suggestions of ones I should check out. Right now I've got Sun Pat smooth. I'm not adverse to crunchy at all (smooth was all the shop over the road had in stock). Skippy's is beautiful, but I doubt the standard supermarket varieties are as healthy as some other ones you guys may be aware of. I'd appreciate any and all suggestions you may have. GO NUTS!

I am always, always on the go. As a personal trainer I am in charge of keeping people healthy....I have my own small window of time to eat and exercise than most. This is one of my go to's - Just spread 2 tbls of peanut butter or whatever nut butter you prefer on a piece of bread. Top with fresh nopalitos. (not canned!) I sometimes add some alfalfa sprouts if I have them on hand. Place other slice on top. Pair with piece of fruit and there ya go! Easy. I love Nopalitos. It gives my sandwiches the crunch I need and want.

Alright. I'm not good at naming recipes. I admit. . This one's probably as simple as you can get. IF your really lazy and just want something quick to eat. Take a chunk of Tofu and wash it in a drainer( Whole, not chopped ). Add salt. Eat raw. Mmm.

I've been scouring the internet for yummy green smoothie recipes. Would love some tasty ideas for Kale. Here is one I made today that turned out really really good! 2 - 3 cups spinach Appx 10 slices cucumber slices 2 miniature organic apples Large handful green grapes 1/2 small banana 2 tsp flax seed oil 2 - 3 Tbsp Soy Creamer Ice Of course you can omit the soy creamer and it will still taste really good. This was superb! So light and refreshing. I find that I don't like avocado and bananas mixed together because it makes my smoothies too thick. What about you? Post some of your favorites.

I've been known to eat some weird things. Let me rephrase that, I've been known to combine different things that I like and to most people it seems weird. Just for example: I love hot sauce and cinnamon on everything!!!! esp: plain raw tofu and oatmeal I just had some raw broccoli and I put yellow mustard and nutri-yeast on it. Pretty darn good. Protein pudding with raw veggies: I make a pudding out of protein powder as discussed in the gemma post and then dip raw veggies in it (broccoli, celery, carrots). My friend last night shot a new one at me that I need to try: olives + chocolate + cayenne pepper The theory goes that if ingredient A is good. And ingredien…

I've got some potatoes. I've got some kale. I decided to invent a potato-kale soup (with some garbanzo beans in, ' cuz I like them). I've got the basic idea figured out, but need some suggestions for seasonings. (And, yes, I could look in a recipe book, but this is so much more fun!)

Not sure whether this actually classifies as a salad. Combined what was left in the stores last night and came out with this ridiculously simple recipe. 2 potatoes, 1 really small 1/2 Avocado 1 can kidney beans Chives and/or spring onion Chop potatoes, boil. Fry beans. Chop avocado. Toss together with 'erbs = salad. I've started putting avocado in pretty much everything these days. Wonder fruit!

I just cooked myself a whole block of frozen spinach the other day and, man, was that good. I'm about to go make another. I'm having difficulty thawing out that block efficiently and cleanly though. I keep taking the block and sitting it in warm water, draining it, and returning hot water to the bowl its in until it thaws. I suppose I could try microwaving it or boiling it, but boiling water takes a while. What is the best/fastest way to take a frozen block of spinach and make it edible?

1) I pressure cook my lentils. It saves time. Quite often, lentils get slightly overcooked that they become mushy sort of. Do the proteins get altered in quality /quantity , when cooked in this way ? 2) Also, if i cook 100 gram lentils (raw weight) in a pressure cooker & consume the entire amount in one sitting, do i get in 22-25 grams proteins. (Data everywhere says that 22-25 grams proteins are present in 100 grams raw weight of lentils). Kindly clear these doubts . Thanks in advance !!
