How much does your weight fluctuate on a daily basis? I weigh myself everynight when I first get to the gym, and for a while now I've averaged out around 190 - but it can actually fluctuate a lot from day to day. For example, this past Sunday I weighed 194, then Monday I weighed 187.5 (a difference of 6.5 pounds in one day!). --- Then tonight (Thursday) I was back up to 193.5.

Tonight I was doing leg presses and pushing myself really hard, and during my last set I started seeing stars then blacked out for a second. I didn't suffer any injuries though because the lock was in place. It was a little scary, and I've never had this happen before. Has anyone else experienced this?

Well I was doing 15 Reps of Seated Calf Raise. I had on 265 lbs. So it was 5 plates + 35 + 5. Heres the exact machine: http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/3438/seated0zk.jpg Now I have done over 6 Plates before up to 15 times, but today was different. At the last 15 rep, I went down super quick and I tried to get the lock there in at the same time but I couldn't and the weight went all the way down, taking my ankle with it. It went super quick. Picture this: http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/1161/seatedcalfstart5kk.jpg But the rest of the foot all the way down, as far as the weights can go when not on the stopper. I heard a bunch of cracks (and I had my hea…

Hi all, I was wondering if I could use my time more efficently and maybe train in the morning. When do you boys and girls are training? Anyone in the morning? And how intensive? Are you not missing some energy, because you havn't eaten for some hours? What about injuries? Isn't your body stiff and would training in the evening be better, because your body has been "warmed-up" during the day? Norbert

ok, i have a question. Do you have to compete if you do bodybuilding? I know you don't have to, but is it the only thing you can really do if you are a body builder?

Let's have an online pull-up contest. I used to have pull-up contests with roomates that I had in the past. We would count them up each day and add them to see who had done the most by the end of the night. It was an awesome strength builder that summer back in 99. I think the most I did at one time was 40, and probably somewhere around 200 for the day. How many consecutive pull-ups can you do? Over that years I went from 8 to 12 to 29 to 36 and now peak at 40 in a row on my best days.

What the best cardio to lose weight? I'm 5'11 and weigh 195. My doc says I should lose about 20 pounds. I have been doing cardio at the gym but am not sure what's the best cardio to shead the pounds. I like the eliptical treadmills but I don't seem to get as good of a workout as I do on the regular treadmill (although I'm sure it's better on my joints). I also do cardio on the stationary bikes but nothing seems to work me as hard and running on the regular treadmilll. What's best and how much/how long should I do cardio each week? i've been lifting five days a week for about the past 6 months. i feel and look a lot better then i ever have. but i'm going in for surgery on my elbow soon (snapping ulnar nerve) and it's nothing too big, but i won't be able to lift for about 3 to 4 weeks. maybe more or less depending on everything. i'm not sure how long it takes for muscle atrophy to kick in, but i feel weaker/less cut after only a few days, much less a few weeks! my question is, when i am able to lift again, does anyone have any advice for a "quick fix" to getting re-ripped? haha, i know that sounds like the wrong thing to say, but i just can't seem to word it right. i understand there is no magi…

I train 3 times a week, for about 15 minutes. I just do breast and triceps on one day and biceps, shoulders and back on anonther day. The third training day I just do every excercise with very little weight, and I do my back if I forgot that the other day. Each muscle group I just do 1 set warming up and 1 set with the weight with wich I can do about 8 reps. After a few months I do another excercise for all the muscles to stop the muscles from getting lazy, except for breasts I only use bench press. Abdominals I just train during my martial arts training, and legs also. I have been training for 1,5 years now, and can see some results. I am just wandering if anyone else …

I'm new to all of this as you all know and i've been posting at a few boards and asking everyone I know for tips and advice on how to get lean and toned. One of the tips I hear over and over again is eat your body weight in protein everyday. Well. that would be 135 pounds of protein for me and that's a lot !! On a good day I get around 50 and that includes a protein shake. How much protein do you guys/girls get a day? What's a good amount? How do you get it? Thanks.

Has anyone else heard of this? I think its from men's fitness or some magazine like it. I read an article that said the diet is mostly vegetarian which is suprising coming from one of these men's mags. Has anyone tried this plan? I know we have the diet part down. http://aolsvc.aol.com/dietfitness/az/abs_checklist.adp

About 6 months ago, at age 41, I was feeling very old and overweight. Aches and pains... stiff joints... difficulty getting out of bed... the works. Started thinking that maybe it was time to wind down my life. Then I came across this: Jack Lalanne --- Feats and accomplishments: At 42, he did 1,023 push-ups in 23 minutes on the TV show, “You Asked For It.” Was named Professional Mr. America in 1954. At 60, he swam handcuffed from Alcatraz to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco Bay while towing a 1,000-pound boat. At 70, he pulled 70 boats holding 70 people 1½ miles through the harbor in Long Beach, Calif., while handcuffed and shackled... Now he is in his 90s and still…

Hey, about halfway through my workout this evening I got a bad stomachache and had to quit. I don't think my stomach liked the combination of the Genisoy bar and pre-workout supplement. Anyway, tomorrow should I pick up where I left off, start over from the beginning, or should I just give it up as a loss for the week? It was arms and shoulders night, an area I still feel quite deficient in, so I'd kind of prefer to overwork them this one time, rather than underwork them. Thanks.

Most of you have seen my friend Ben featured on the front page of the main website. For those who haven't, here is a photo of Big Ben. He is 36 and has never eaten meat in his life. He is one of the biggest guys at a bodybuilder's gym where I train. http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/images/bigben/Ben3.jpg Check out Ben's articles on www.veganbodybuilding.com main page or go directly to them here: http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/article/515 and http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/article/658 Ben is an awesome guy, extremely nice and has been bodybuilding for 16 years so he knows a thing or two about building muscle.

Hey everyone. Most of you know me as a "Vegan Bodybuilder" with nothing else attached to it, like amateur or professional. I recent newspaper article inaccurately referred to me as a Professional Vegan Bodybuilder, which a few people have taken note of recently. I was describing my film that features Professional Vegan Athletes (Brendan Brazier, and Tonya Kay) and I am the 3rd may actor in the film. I told the reporter my sport was bodybuilding but I guess I didn't clarify my "status". I know it's not that big of a deal, I just thought I'd post it in case there was some confusion. I have not reached the Professional Level of Natural Bodybuilding so I compete as an…

I've recently started working out and really want to bulk up and gaining weight. I've been an athlete my whole life and have been pretty lean my whole life. I'm 6'4" and weigh only 155 pounds. It's not just since I've become vegan, but I've been this way my whole life (tall and skinny). I hate it, and really want to bulk up. What are the best ways to do this? And I was also wondering what a good workout schedule would be, and how often I should rest. I also am wondering if all the cardio workout from sports has been keeping me from gaining weight.
