Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!! I was wondering what is on everyone's playlist when working out...I need some new music to keep me pumped up during my workout. My playlist is old...any tips?

(I know this has probably been talked about before...but, I figure...music always changing)

SNFU (saw them live the other night. AMAZING!) They are a Canadian punk band

Bif Naked - strict raw food vegan with catchy rock/metal/punk/pop songs and killer live performances

Propagandhi - another Canadian punk band consisting of all vegan members

A couple songs from a band I'm currently working with.. which has no name.. or recorded vocals.. Lol!

D.O.A - more Canadian punk

I've also got some Black Label Society, Metallica, Lacuna Coil, and various independent artists from Vancouver in my music collection.

Crypto,

That is awesome!!

Do you have any favorite songs that really get you into it?

Anyone please feel free to post their fave songs to pump iron with...

oh hell yeah, the new agoraphobic nosebleed album is amazing! lately when i lift, ive also been listening to:

gorgasm (stabwound intercourse)

skinless (forshadowing our demise)

morbid angel (gateways to annihilation)

cephalic carnage (exploiting dysfunction, conforming to abnormality)

nile (anything by them, theyre amazing)

cryptopsy (none so vile)

brutal truth (revolution through evolution, sounds of the animal kingdom)

those are all super intense and have great breakdowns for kickstarting sets.

How bout some black metal? Good, fast, driving stuff you can really get into. Don't really listen to music at the gym but these get me pumped anywhere:

Absu

Cobalt

Krallice

Ulver (nattens madrigal)

Weakling

Burzum/Drudkh/Wolves in the Throne Room

-these are kind of slower but got some killer lose yourself riffs

enjoy!

Despised Icon

another band from my area

(Crypto mentioned Cryptopsy, from Montreal too)

APM (A Perfect Murder) is pretty good too, and here's a listof other Mtl/quebec metal bands, rated by popularity.

other good artists/bands : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_musicians_from_Quebec

im not a fan of black metal at all, but i think wolves in the throne room are excellent.
I listened to some of your suggestions: awesome !

But I listened also to some punk music from Marcina's choices... don't like it while training because its not as hardcore as metal gets, but its good for while riding on my bike, chilling or relaxing

METALCORE!

All Shall Perish

The Faceless

Suicide Silence

The Tony Danze Tapdance Extravaganza

Despised Icon

I'd highly recommend putting these on before you squat

What is "METALCORE"? Is that what you call RoboCop's brother or something?

I actually find I get a better workout when I listen to no music. Helps me concentrate more. Although old school Soundgarden, King Crimson (I don't know why) and Soilent Green used to be the soundtrack to my workouts.

Hi Cubby,

I noticed you said Psyclon Nine. I drum for them and just did a tour with them a few months back. It has been a while since I've been on here because I've been on the road a lot with them and other bands. Anyway, I thought that it was cool that you mentioned the band.

Cheers,

Jon

No one's mentioned Earth Crisis!!The most hardcore vegan militant band on the planet.Linkin park, Adema, disturbed and slipknot never failed to bring the intensity up to the level of a silverback on speed.

All Earth Crisis' albums are on torrentz.com but buy them if you can.

I also need to update my playlist.

Normally I'd listen to a lot of hardcore and fastcore to keep me pumped:

Vitamin X

DS-13

Charles Bronson

Threatener

Discarga

Heresy

and Descendents-Milo Goes to College when I'm in the mood.

Hope someone has a similar playlist.
