  1. When I read that I imagined people choking babies while riding an entry level Felt. But for reals, just like poorly assembled? That Felt seems to have the best components though, even better than the allez elite and for only 100 more. well I guess the main difference is that its a 10-speed not a 9-speed and the r. derailer is ultegra. http://www.feltracing.com/08/product.asp?catid=1504,1515&pid=8667 But I trust Potters opinion and don't want any choking babies.
  2. that via nirone 08 is acutally only a tiagra http://www.bianchiusa.com/08_c2c_nirone_tiagra.html So I'm leaning toward the allez elite for 1000, checked around craigslist/ebay but nothing really came up yet. So well see though
  3. you only need sleeves to do bike races, not tri's right? I did my tri in a running singlet and others didn't have shirts on at all. I have sleeved cycling jerseys so no worries there, this would be used primarily for future tri's
  4. I wanted in on the sweet OA tri gear but am worried about it being too big. I'm 5'4 1/2, 115 pounds, 28 waist, 29ish inseam. according to their sizing chart http://vergesport.com/show.php?parent=custom&ident=sizing it looks like I would be an XS, but OA doesn't have those. Pamela I'm assuming that you ordered the SM, and was wondering if you think it would be too big for me or not?

  6. So i've been riding a mountain bike for a while but want to get more serious about racing and whatnot, and also use it for any future tri's I do. I'm looking in around the 1000 dollar range and this is what I found around town. *** Felt F85 '08 - 1,099 Scott Speedster S40 '08 - 1000, S50 '08- 875 (they would order them from scott and would take 5 days to get it, really emphasized that they would do an good hour long job of fitting) Scott Speedster S40 '07- 800 (frame was a little big I think though..needed a XS?) Specalized Allez Elite '08- 1200 Specalized Allez '07 - 739 Specalized Sequoia Elite '07 950 ) Bianchi Via Nirone '08 - 1099 Trek 1500 '06 (said it was between 1.5 and 2.1) - 1050 Specalized Allez elite '07/'06? - 1000 (this was all 105's if I remember..the guy at the store was keen on this one) (they also deal in Lemond and the guy there was pointing out something that was similar to the allez elite In price and parts i think) ** anyway just wondering if you guys had any suggestions from those listed. thanks!

  12. if i remeber from "supersize me" isan't morgan spurlocks girlfriend a vegan chef?
  13. haha i enjoyed making/asking people to taste it more than acutally eating it. I never liked mayo that much in the first place so I never get vegenaise...but it pretty much tastes like a slightly sweeter, bananna tinged mayo. Had some people put it on their sandwhiches in the deli line and i think thats probably the best place for it.
  14. nothing is more important than mixing bannanas and vegenaise....nothing
  15. haha I win my own contest I whipped this up and then went around campus (wearing my VBBF shirt mind you) and filmed this my on-campus television show and asked to people taste it and get their reaction and tell me what was in it. hehe its rather infamous around campus now
  16. brendans recovery pudding is super awesome but i have also made pudding by slowly adding milk to choclate vega. (or natural vega with carob powder) until desired consistency and then eating it with a spoon or using it as a dip for fruit.
  17. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=local&id=5653210 this video is longer and better but still sorta the same thing
  18. ooh im thining sliced thin and long wise it would make great in vegan gyros. what would be the best way to flavor this to make it taste like gyro meat?
  19. i put it in my green smoothies
  20. i bought some from a guy at the Austin farmers market a few weeks ago. They taste like little apples. But not as overall sweet as the dried dates I think.
  21. thanks for the tips guys! I think im gonna pass on the meal, as although I have had indian food before and love it, I would probably end up wanting to gorge myself or something like try everthing? PLUS i should really get to bed early that night and the dinner meetup doesn't start till 8 I think . Good pre-race dinner ideas? I don't think carb-loading is really that nessary since the sprint tri should take me ..mabye 1:30? idk
  22. Hi! A vegan group here in Austin is doing a restaurant visit to a South Indian restaurant friday night that I have never been to in town (way up north away from me)and I really like to go. However saturday morning is my first sprint distance (ok well first ever ) triathalon. I have a feeling that I should try to keep my diet as clean as I can on friday and whatnot So im sorta weary about going out to eat at an indian restaurant as there are some not so healthy things there to taste. Should I skip out or just only eat certain things? Thanks!
