Hi everyone, My name's Dave, I just turned 19, and I think I've been vegetarian since I was around 14 years old, but I'm now looking to go fully vegan by the end of April. I'd make the change even sooner, but I'm not used to eating many vegetables, rice, or whole wheat breads, so I'm trying to quickly expand my diet and learn to eat in a healthy and well balanced way. But I'm actually here more for the bodybuilding element than anything. I'm still brand new to it, but it's very quickly becoming a huge passion in my life. It all started around two months ago when I came across a nutrition article written by Robert Cheeke on vegetarianteen.com. I'd never seen a …

WOOOOOOOOOO! I'm glad I found this site. I literally just went Vegan this past week and I did it cold turkey. I don't like to transition in to anything as it proves to myself I can get shit done! Real quick here's my stats: Name: Zac Age: 28 Height: 5'10" Weight: 190lbs Hometown: Charlotte, NC Hobbies: Getting hyooge, fast cars. Been Vegan: 1 week LOL, I know this is all crazy sounding and I'm sure everyone reading this is thinking "oh god, here we go! he'll be gone in a week!" NEGATIVE! I will be completely honest.. I did not go vegan because I care about animals, which I do, but that's not what has made me give up meat and dairy. I have been wanting to do this fo…

Hi everyone! My name is Megan, and I just moved in with Robert. (as in Robert that runs this website ) He encouraged me to post and introduce myself. I am 21 years old, and living in Corvallis, OR while attending Oregon State University. My major is Nutrition and my minor is exercise physiology. I'll be finishing up my undergrad work in 5 more terms, then start grad school, again in Nutrition. Once I get through all that, I plan to be a registered dietician. I am vegetarian - almost, but not quite vegan! Maybe Robert will be a good influence and get me the rest of the way. Not sure what else to say - obviously, health, diet, and fitness are passions of mine also. I u…

Hi, Everyone I registered on this site a long time ago, posted once and only came back, being reminded by Jay (Hi, Jay ) about this site. I forgot what name I had originally registered! Anyway, good to be here. I'm vegan, high raw; been vegan, I guess 10 + years and high raw over one year -- actually, I've been 100 % raw (food intake) but don't call myself or want to be really identified as a "raw foodist." And at any time I may fall into cooked food debauchery My mission is to turn you all into lovers of Green Smoothies If you don't know what they are read HERE and HERE these are *the* most nutritious things you can consume. AND what better way to get al…

Hello. I am very new to the vegan/organic lifestyle. I am a female fitness competitor and have decided to change my lifestyle due to a recent bad experience with meat that left me very sick and fatigued. I am hoping to learn more about this lifestyle and how to construct a correct diet to help with my bodybuilding. Thanks

Hey, I have been a member for a while but never formally introduced myself. I recently became a Vegan and have been a Vegetarian since January, before that I was mostly a vegetarian (wife is Vegan), but cheated every now and then. I love being a Vegan and standing up for what I believe in. I did it for the animals but only now am I finding out how much healthier the alternatives to whey and casein are. I use a supplement called plant protein instead now and it is awesome. Here is a pic of me that was taken in January. I am planning to get some size in the next six months and I will be working hard in my quest of getting bigger and leaner than ever as a Vegan.

Hello everyone, my name is Danny and I have been Vegan for about a year and a half. I have recently gotten into excersizing and lifting weights, trying to lose a bunch of fat and gain muscle. My schedule is really weird and hard to keep regular because I am in a band and on tour for 10 months out of the year. I hope to find out different ways to keep myself healthy and in shape. For being Vegan for over a year I still don't know much about suppliments and vitamins that are great for excersize and gaining muscle. I also need to find out some ways to up my energy level for playing shows and running around every night like an idiot. Any and all help and suggestions …

Hi. I'm no bodybuilder, but I am definitely here for fitness! And for encouragement! I'm a Louisiana-born Cajun girl (so yes, I'm guilty of eating far more than my fair share of meat in the past). I was living a miserable life with my parents, becoming more and more overweight due to an abusive father, and would get depressed over it. Just over 1 1/2 years ago, I met a real great guy (who I soon moved in with), and he's taught me how to live a "Kosher" life. Well, just recently, after much research, we found that there's more to this Vegan lifestyle than we thought. I used to always hate the slaughter of innocent animals. I used to raise rabbits, chickens, and ducks …

I'm surprised at how quickly this place has gotten busy. I'll try to post here more often. Anyway I'm 32 and vegan about 20 months. I like lifting heavy. Best bench is 295, dip BW+110x3, chin BW+120 (just missed BW+140 recently). I'm 6'4" 220 currently. Did deadlift 465 and squat 345 but then herniated a disc in my back. I only get about 60 grams of protein a day. So that's that. See you around.

Hello everybody, I was passing through this website a few days ago, looking for some bodybuilding tips, and got sucked in by the variety of the posts here. I have posted a few replies, myself, and compassionategirl suggested I introduce myself. So here goes: Yeah, that's a picture of me. It's a few years old, though. I am 41 now, but that was the last time I had a killer body, so I thought I'd use that pic. These days I work too much and don't spend enough time with my friends or my wife, but I am working on changing all that. (The son of a friend of mine, who is six, said I am a workaholic. I asked him if he knew what that meant. He said, "That's when you work all th…

Hi everyone everywhere! My name is Patricia (25) from Germany. First I would like to thank Robert for making this possible. He is such a dedicated guy and is putting a lot of effort and energy into a lot of projects. I met him the first time in Vancouver, BC at the TASTE OF HEALTH and have seen his speech he hold there. GREAT! REFRESHING! I AM PROUD OF YOU ROBERT! About me, I am living in Munich but I am originally from Berlin. I've spent a fair bit of time reading through your many posts on a lot of different subjects and I must say, even before introducing myself, you guys are a very special group of people. Your sensitivity, compassion and zest for life come through clearly in your interactions with each other. What a great international community!! It probably has something to do with the diet... Well, I switched to a vegetarian diet about 4 months ago and have been fighting the desires ever since although I find the sight and smell of flesh ing now. Good thing. I switched to a veg. diet because of the spiritual path that I have been on but perhaps more on that later. I'm into worki…

Hi I'm Elisabeth 24 years of age Happy single (and I promised not to mention anything about that "cave" thing...so I wont) Love to travel, I've been to close to 20 countries so far and I'd like to have visited them all before I die so I have a LOT of traveling to do lol. I currently work as a slave... Until April, then I'll probably go abroad again.. I'm here because...Ive been vegan for *counting* dunno, but I think september sometime. Before that I had no meat or chicken for a year (except for an occasional kanga wanga when I lived in Australia. If you've never heard of a kanga wanga I won't bother explaining what it is - because it is kind of gross really.). But I'm…

Hi, everyone.... I'm 30, 5'6", 133 lbs, happily married for 6 years with 2 dogs.. no kids yet (not for lack of trying). As for diet: Lacto/ovo born and raised. I married a big meat eater/hunter, and shortly into my marriage I made the switch to vegan. Let's say it did NOT go over well with him (mostly my MIL and FIL). I was beyond ostracized for my choices. The situation became so hot that I finally made a choice to retain my marriage and revert to lacto/ovo, or stay my ground and lose my DH. I don't regret my reversion... but that was then... As for fitness: Came from an ancestry of herbalists, aromatherapists, very health minded people. I'm a 5th-generation veget…

Just thought I should introduce myself. Some of you may know me already. I'm a full-time animal advocate. I've been lifting weights regularly for a year and a half. Since summer I have let my progress slide, but I'm interested in getting back into lifting with more intention. Spent several hours lurking about the board the last couple days. Read a lot of posts, which have helped give me a little inspiration. I look forward to getting to know more of you on the board. Seems like a positive community. Cheers, Daniel

Hey everybody, I just joined the this board today and i thought i'd be nice to introduce myself My name is Sacco, i'm a 22 yr old guy fom Holland. I like music (hardcore, metalcore, metal and sometimes hiphop),philosophy, art, BMX and lots of other stuff. That's about enough for now i hope.... Sacco

Hello, I love listening to music especially while working out. I'm vegan straight edge, and umm I don't know that's about it. I started working out when I started losing weight with some little exercises I started doing at home, I went from 235 to 210 in the summer, and then decided to ask my parents about a gym membership, they agreed. and I've been working out ever since, I was vegetarian for about 3 months, read Diet For A New America and that book changed my life. Decided to go vegan, and still going strong. My fitness goal is possibly something like old-school Rambo possibly number 2 or 3. I still have a some fat left, but I hope to remove that soon hopefully with en…

New member here. I became a vegetarian at the beginning of the year, then went back and forth between Vegan and Pescetarian. Now back to Vegan and here for good! I can no longer ignore negative impact that consuming dairy and ANY animal including fish has on our environment and eco-system. Currently I am in heavy training mode. I do at least an hour and a half of cardio a day and weights 6 days a week. I'm trying to prep for a photo shoot and working my touche off!!!!! I recently discovered the joy of Hemp protein!!! I love this stuff. I take in about 60 grams a day (not all at once of course) and I am very happy with how easily digestible it is, and the taste …
