I was wondering if any decent recipes exist. I tried a product called 'Tofu Salad' in the US a couple of years ago and it tasted very much like dairy cottage cheese.

Anyone have a good recipe for barbeque sauce. All the ones I've found at the store have HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP as one of the first ingredients and I really try to avoid that crap and yet I love bbq sauce flavor. In fact, I want to do BBQ tofu in the next couple of days.

Am trying to come up with a recipe for the ultimate veggie burger that is absolutely jam packed with protein, but soy free. I've been scared off soy, and until recently that was my #1 protein source. I've become a post workout veggie patty addict, ones that were kept frozen and then you just fry them up and make a burger. The ones I were eating were pure soy though, so want to make my own. Hoping to come up with a recipe that will get me about 25-30 grams of protein in a 110g (or so) patty. Can make a big batch and then just heat and eat after workouts with my vega shakes. Foods that are in the running: Hemp seeds Oats Black Beans Mushrooms (for texture) Any h…

Ok, I know it' snot vegan, but I have a very simple recapie for a smoothie... actually I have two. one is vegan. 1) Non-vegan. 8oz of yogart, or 6 oz and some milk. In a blinder blend that with your choice of berries. 2) Vegan ONe fourth of those tofu packages. Blend in a blender (what'da ya know ?!) again with your choice of berries. Simple and pathetic I know, but my mom and I used to have them a couple years ago for breakfast.

Hey people. Just thought i'd share a nice recipe I came up with. Probably has been done elsewhere but i'm claiming invention of it until I see otherwise! Basically, I hate the taste of protein powder and I wanted to have some with breakfast, so I have to mix it into food. Ingredients: 1 Cup whole almonds 1/2 Cup whole oats 1 large banana 1 tablespoon rapadura sugar (can use any but I prefer rapadura or demerera) 1 scoop of your favourite protein powder Milk (strict vegans can use oat milk - this may even taste nicer actually) Water Sea Salt/Rock Salt Blueberries Bang it all in a processor and add as much water/your choice of milk as you see fit. It can come out …

I'm reading the Thrive Diet book and when I got to the millet section I recall making a really tasty lemon "cheese" cake from the uncheese cookbook, page 169. The creaminess comes from millet and from raw cashews. But mostly it's the millet. This will require experimentation to add this to your recipes, such as dressings (rather than using nuts to make dressings or veganaise). You cook 1/2 a cup of millet in 2 cups of water for about 50 min. until soft, when it's still warm, blend in a food processor. Try blending it with your dressing herbs, such as garlic, nutritional yeast, onion, or any of the spices that make up traditional ranch dressing, etc., or make a lemon dr…

I just found this recipe for Tofurkey. It was created by the chef because of comments that other Tofurkey recipes were untraditional tasting and didn't go with the other trimmings. This guy says that this Tofurkey fits in perfectly with traditional stuffing, and tastes like how holiday turkey should taste (not like soy sauce!) -- plus it sounds like it's going to taste really good !

So I am reading Born to Run by Christopher McDougall and it talks about this stuff called iskiate which is made from chia seeds, water, sugar and a little lime. Has anyone ever tried it? It is supposed to be great for energy/ recovery. Just wondering if it is for real or just hype. If no one here has tried it I may go out and buy some chia seeds to make it and I can let you all know how it goes. Don't want to spend money on it if it's nothing though.
