  1. You dirty, dirty boy. I didn't even think of that. But yeah, it's nice to see you mentioned in the article. Great work as always.
  2. Hey all, I've decided to keep a blog here. I'll write anecdotes of my daily life experiences, which of course will include lots of info on training and diet, as well as my thoughts and random stuff. Hopefully people will enjoy reading it, and hopefully I'll have some interesting stuff to say. I've lost some strength/weight in the past few weeks due to personal roadbumps. I was eating out alot and eating like crap. I'm going to eat really well now, bodybuilding wise, as I've bought alot of bulk food lately- rice, pasta, oats, potatoes, spinach, romaine lettuce, tofu, fruit, and a few processed soy products. I'm trying to limit the processed stuff and focus on natural bulk foods. I've altered my training a little bit, especially my chest/arms training, but I'm still experimenting. Of course I'll document things as they develop. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, I'm back in action making it happen. With Robert back into bodybuilding, and others such as Zack and DV getting into it, it's pretty motivating. It's cool how we tend to inspire eachother. It's good to be back into it. It's also good to see some other people on here makin it happen, BESIDES ME.
  3. Way to ruin the integrity of the thread... Haha. I appreciate things that are well thought out (such as the responses above), as well as those things that aren't always well thought out..... and what a metaphor for sex that is! Seriously though. Let's spend the night together. Now I need you more than ever.
  4. Because of the way the smith machine is designed the bar itself only weighs a few pounds. Alot of knuckleheads at my gym try to look impressive pressing big plates that they can't otherwise press by using a smith machine . But that's besides the point. I would suggest using a power cage if you have access to it.
  5. Hey fitness friends, Which OFF-SEASON training programs have given you the best gains? Volume training? HIT? Doggcrapp? 5x5? Your own formula? Fill us in already! For over a year I have been doing a 3 split of Chest/tris/calves, back/bi's/calves, and quads/hams. I stay in the 6-8 rep range and do three sets per exercise. The number of exercises varies depending on time/energy, and I have succeeded with volume training as well as going heavy with a few sets. As gains wane as of late I'm looking to change my training program (amongst other things), and I'm looking for suggestions, as well as just being curious what is working for others. Do tell!
  6. I did not even know that that country existed, lol. What are you doing there?
  7. I would love to go to this, and I have the means to go, I just don't think I have the time. I would have to miss a week of school in order to go. It depends on my classes next semester.
  8. How did I miss this? I've already talked to you a bit on myspace but welcome man, xvx ftw.
  9. Hey BULKERS, I'm interested in what you are eating. I'm not interested in the shakes/smoothies you are consuming, even if they are whole food based. I'm looking for what you are eating between the shakes. Meal suggestions would be great, high protein/high calorie recipes would be even better. Get the ideas rolling for other bulkers on new dishes to have for that 4th, 5th, 6th meal. If you decide to post, please don't be vague, it won't help anyone! I'll post what I'm eating a bit later, I'm mostly interested on what is working for other people/generating a variety of ideas. Robert, DV, Jonathon, Daywalker, Zack (not to name names), others.... fill us in!
  10. I've never heard this before. From anybody I know who is straight edge. It's kind of silly really, since almost everything we do supports capitalism. Capitalism FTL.
  11. Great response DV! Just the kind of response a bodybuilding forum needs!
  12. Congratulations on this! Just think of how far you've come over the years! Truly inspirational!
  13. Dude, I'm totally opposite. I have no problem getting to the gym. Actually I've been hammering it these days. Been cycling in the heat too and cutting rest times so endurance is through the roof. But putting away the calories seems to be hard to do lately. I don't know why. I think it's because I'm so busy, and lazy, but I've been trying to plan out the meals to get those calories in. Been hitting 4000 kcal on a good day, which is what I was hitting on a bad day while I was gaining lots of mass. I haven't stepped on a scale in ages, I'm actually kind of afraid to, after the breakup and losing weight, I'm really hard on myself if I sense failure. Just got to eat more.
  14. Nice to see that the ice cream was vegan AND straight edge, Flanders!
  15. When I saw a picture in your post Richard I was afraid you were going to photoshop someone's head onto another person or something! LOL.
  16. That cake looks delicious! MTG, I used to play that but I don't anymore, though I think I have a couple of killer decks which are sleeved and in a deck box lying around somewhere.
  17. Nice! Activism rocks my socks. I've been an animal rights activist for a few years now and I love it. I'm pretty outspoken usually when I'm in my element, but I try and stay somewhat civil and "respectful". Afterall we are trying to show people the great injustices against nonhumans (and other disadvantaged groups) but we don't want to be so hardcore that we put them off. It can be a fine line. I like the veganbodybuilding approach where we lead by example and show them a healthy happy vegan lifestyle without being too confrontational but I also like the "your mommy kills animals you filthy waste of life" approach sometimes too. Whatever works, I say.
  18. I'm from Long Island so I've been to the city quite a bit, but I never saw that intersection of Gay street and Christopher street.
  19. I just got a bike for commuting and while it's not a fixed gear I do have a horribly ugly gawky helmet. But I love it. It is bright neon red. It was free and it's pretty punk rock, and also no one will steal it.
