  1. going to the gym again today at lunch. planning to do some light cardio. (just feel like it) my son never ceases to amaze me... He's been driving me crazy for years because I am a hopeless sports nut and he has no interest at all in organized sports. What drives me crazy is that he has much talent in practically everything he tries. *picks up a golf club and has a perfect picture swing *plays in a pickup soccer game and regulary takes the ball from a classmate who is regarded as one of the top players in the province at his age. * he took the "beep test" at school yesterday (timed sprints... how many you can do within a time limit) and had the 2nd best time in the school. Part of me is glad that he isn't playing some of the more physical sports (when I see all the kids walking around on crutches) as long as he stays active, but......

    Mexican Food

it's just so addicting!!! tried a fabulous dish last summer (which I still need th recipe for) tortilla pie layers of tortillas, beans, salsa, corn, onion, tomato, avocado baked in the oven yum I used to be addicted to the spice. Now I'm a little more sane and use the spice to complement the flavours rather than just blow my head off

    Mexican Food

Since every thread I post in seems to have burritos mentioned in it, I though I should start a new thread. One which encompasses MORE than burritos!!! Just had quesadillas last night!!! mmmm Mexican food is such a staple in our household. Oddly enough, I find it tough to eat when in Mexico.... so much meat and cheese in everything. I usually tip the cook to make me dishes vegan style. The salsa is absolutely amazing there! so fresh! anyone else crazy about mex food?

watched another 10 minutes of I'm a Celebrity Now Get Me Outta Here I just have to shake my head... Who the heck are these people???? Heidi & Spencer.... Is he for real??? Does he really think he is a big celebrity or is he just panning for the camera? This is really sad
  9. I feel the same way. I can say that it is getting quite interesting now. I've had a couple theories blown away already
  10. [quote="Pull-ups (used rings with a spot - loving the rings we just got in at the gym. I am going to be using these all of the time now.) we use the rings at my gym too. do you have a low hanging set of rings too? We use those for pullups while horizontal. also do plank position holding the rings. I have to be careful using the high rings because it hurts my finger. The low ones for some reason are easier for me. (I seem to be able to adjust my grip better)
  11. took it fairly easy on the weekend. 2 hour walk on Saturday hour and a half walk on Sunday I'm starting to really enjoy long walks. You just see much more of the neighborhood and people. June is a completely nutty time when you have kids. There are so many things going on : birthday parties (the summer b-days usually happen in June), school projects, activities, graduation (grade 6 and grade I could never quite figure out the grade 6 grad thing to the gym at lunch today! not feeling terribly energetic, but I'll suck it up and get a workout in!
  12. I was just reading a couple of the last pages of your journal, and I was glad to see that statement. Sometimes it's better to be restorative than push ourselves. That's a lesson I learned for myself this week. Too bad wii miis don't have superaccountant man... with amazing number crunching powers! with pocket protector?? Thanks for the comment vivalasvegans! so true! When I look back to when I was younger, it's no wonder I couldn't put on any muscle. I overtrained, did a ton of cardio. DOn't think I ever gave my muscles a chance to properly recover. The value of rest is probably the single best thing I have learned

    Reality TV

yikes!! and then throw in all of the really messed up people..... now is it because the shows tend to select slightly "offbeat" individuals for the shows ? I'm sure the experience and resulting "fame" have something to do with it. kind of scary

    vegandad.blogspot.com/2008/06/veggie-lunch-meat.html this is it!

    borsch

I guess that's what we do!!! we came across a recipe for vegan lunch"meat" form it into a loaf and bake it. That might just solve his kielbasa cravings! I'll see if I can find it. It's much healthier than store bought, much cheaper and IMO tastier.
