I'm really proud of my progress so far and wanted to share with everyone! A few of my friends saying I have really inspired them with my dedication and training, and by doing it all vegan! I am really honored by that, and excited, because even a lot of extremely non vegan meat eaters I know have been interested in how I eat, and wanting to incorporate more vegan ideas into their lifestyles and diets. It makes me feel fantastic, because this is the main reason I train - I want to inspire others, and to use my body as hard evidence that animal cruelty is not necessary to achieve your physical goals, and it feels like it's starting to get noticed Late 2010 vs early 2012 …

Hi everyone, I've been registered here for a while, but still haven't posted anything. Now I thought it was about time, so I encouraged myself to add a couple of pictures to show my progress. I'm a 22 years old vegan male from Helsinki, Finland, and I've been following the path of veganism ever since november 2003. I've been lifting weights more and less actively for about two years now, and I have a background of athletics in my youth. The last month or so I've been eating more heavily and gained a few kilograms. Now I'm trying to slowly bulk up during the next year. I train 2-3 times a week depending on my other schedule(university, work, friends, social activities …

OK, so here we go, I've been hesitating a lot to post my photos in public but I decided to try. My goal is to gain some muscle mass not being so skinny anymore. About me: male, 52 years, vegan for 2 years, 5'11 145 lbs. Doing yoga and running 5 k a few times a week. Now I've decided to try gaining some muscle mass so I can change name from skinny Ken to buff Ken. chest 38" thigh 19" waist 30" butt 35" calf 13,5" bicep relaxed 10,25" bicep flexed 11,75" http://i43.tinypic.com/2d0hpvo.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2h51yxl.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/ziu8w1.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/332p275.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/9abq12.jpg

I can't really find a great "before" picture, but here's one that you can at least see my arms in: http://i29.tinypic.com/2u8yvyh.jpg And this is just a silly picture of me joke-flexing with some friends, just sixteen days later: http://i27.tinypic.com/neul1d.jpg I'll probably try to take some better pictures at some point, but you can kind of see that I'm starting to get somewhere!

Week one progress. Only 2 p90x workouts (not counting today's), but I've been doing about 20 min a day of general working out and been eating healthy and watching my portions for once. Also not drinking (except Sat and Sunday...and just gin&tonic) http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4765605154_ea7485ed21_b.jpg I made a dent!

UPDATED July '08: Scroll down for new entry and photos. Age: 37 Height: 5'9" Weight before training (started December 2007): about 154 Weight in March '08: 160 Weight in July '08: 161 March 2008 Well, I've been hitting the weights for about three months now, so I thought I'd stop lurking here and post some pictures. For me, these are progress photos, but they'll be "before" photos for you--assuming I keep at it and post again in a few months. I'm grateful to have found this forum. When I went vegan last year, I found that I had more energy to burn, and I wanted to be a good ambassador for veganism, which meant using my own good health to counter all the usual myths ab…

Hi there again, my whole story can be found at introduction section! Im inspired by what ive seen here and im determined to transform myself as well! I believe that my faith is strong enough to build up only on raw mostly fruits food. Why cant it be the same with working out? Will see This is poor me now, would be thankful for any tips about beginners workouts proper for my body. http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9124/dsc00189qq.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/dsc00189qq.jpg/1/w600.pn…

Here are some before photos. Not really sure what poses are preferred, but I figured these were suitable. As you can see, I'm a bit overweight. I carry most of my weight in my lower body. I'm about 5'6" and weigh... more than I'd like to. I try not to worry too much about a number, though, because I do have a decent amount of muscle hiding beneath the flub. I finished Navy boot camp in January and then went to a special forces "a" school, which got me pretty fit, but then I got really depressed and stopped working out/eating well and gained some weight. I'm starting P90X tomorrow and I'm taking volleyball (an hour and a half, twice a week) in college, so that plus this f…

These were taken about a month after I started working out. Been 'skinny fat' my whole life. Looking to actually get some definition. Let these photos act as a means of monitoring my progress! Took these September 18th. Will take some more soon to compare because as of yet I don't feel much difference. http://imagecdn.bodybuilding.com/img/user_images/growable/2013/09/30/75218831/progresspic/XxeByjpLdrvKMATovbZXyXJeSwskcKsefrYv-610xh.jpg http://imagecdn.bodybuilding.com/img/user_images/growable/2013/09/30/75218831/progresspic/uLrtekNHoitkxcdWRBPjWYAklyuqRTqwouhb-610xh.jpg http://imagecdn.bodybuilding.com/img/user_images/growable/2013/10/01/75218831/gallerypic/tOofmhyVJVPN…

Hey guys, I've been vegetarian for 12 years and vegan for exactly 1 year and a month =]. Tired of hearing my friends moaning about how vegan are weak I decide to start weight lifting for the first time in my life. I thought about using this forum for keeping me motivated, keeping track of my goals, and of course hearing advices for more experienced people. I'm going to workout based on ripettoe starting strength routine and I'm going for a moderate calorie intake diet (at least for now , til I get used to eat more and more) Here is my current status: age: 22 height: 190cm (6'2 feet) weight: 83kg (182.6 pounds) http://i51.tinypic.com/2na77tz.jpg http://i51.tinyp…

I am new on this site, but vegan for about 16yrs now. I have always been skinny, always trying to gain weight, so actually chewy's luck with the 5x5 has inspired me. I am starting out at 5'7 and 120lbs. I have done one workout and am a little sore in the triceps. If anyone has any tips for either gaining weight or doing the stronglift please let me know. As horrible as they are I have posted my before picks. I am trying to eat lots but man its hard to shovel it in. Angryvegan

Hi I'm new! I've been going to a local gym for about three months now. I've been doing some weights and cardio but without too much thought behind it so I'm really looking forward to scouring this site for training plans and nutrition etc. Below is a recent pic, I've not got anything really to flex at the moment so I shall post better pics when I'm confident enough to take them! http://s3.postimage.org/1y35p9.jpg

On this date last year I weighed 223.8 lbs. Today I weigh 178 lbs. I'm a man with a husky frame who stands at 5 11. I reached a high of 260 lbs back in 2000. A combination of old sports injuries, bad habits, and lack of health insurance put me there. A new career with health benefits, several surgeries, and several years later I was exercising again but my weight seemed stuck in the mid 220s. Having always had a slow burning system and being a bit older I thought I was stuck there for good, which I was for several years. I used to read a personal development forum where I learned about the Hacker's Diet. http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/hackdiet.html …

Okay, I've said for over a year I would finally get new pics online, so it's about damned time! Let's start with the classic shots from the tail end of my strongman days, circa summer 2006 before the repeated back injuries and eye problems. Near the high side of the days of being big (around 272-275 lbs. in the photos), but also very bloated and far from being lean. http://www.veganessentials.com/images/Poser1.jpg Next up, photos from just a bit under 2 years ago. That was the low point - I would injure my back every few months and have to start all over, I was coping with my eye condition early on and still questioned whether or not I should even keep lifting, st…

Hi all. I finally decided to post some pictures, mainly because of frustration, since I have been stuck for a while with no progress at all. Ok so here's the story: I am 30 yrs old, 5'6'' and about 135lb (it fluctuates a lot, 135 is the avg). I am technically not overweight but I think my percentage of body fat is high (I guess due to the fact that now I sit 9 hours a day behind a desk). I did lose some 5 lbs in the last 4 months but have been stuck with fat mainly around the sides of my waist (sorry about the lack of anatomy terms, English is my second language), basically I have no waist, I am square all the way down. I have also some fat on my belly (I am straight ed…

First off: I'm pretty sorry that I don't have a picture of myself from summer of 2008 when I was at my biggest. At my biggest I weight was 89,8kg (198pounds) In the summer of 2009 I think I my weight was about 81kg (178,5pounds) And I looked like this: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs180.snc1/6770_1198331965076_1431813839_549225_7314955_n.jpg And this summer (the pic was taken two weeks ago) I weigh 71kg (156,5pounds). And I'm only 3kilos away from the goal weight I've set for myself http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs570.snc3/31126_1469274898480_1431813839_1230482_2887282_n.jpg And I love my legs, they're quite muscular but still wiggle whe…

Hey everybody, I haven't posted in a while, I've had alot of new changes in my life and I've been very busy lately. I wasnt able to compete in the battle for tidewater like I planned because the birth of my daughter came 5 weeks earlier then expected and it prevented me from having the funds. I also got a good job and I am about to switch gyms. My life is very different now, but I love it. I took the chance to start bulking up since I couldn't compete in the contest. Im working on a total Rebuild of my entire physique from the ground up. I'm currently 205 lbs., but I'm working on my goal weight of a lean 225 lbs. I haven't been good about updating my logs in the pas…

Back in 2007 I decided to start losing weight. I weighed in at 270 lbs and joined the Biggest Loser online club. I got down to 219 lbs but shot back up due to working 3 jobs and being around bad choices. November 2009 I decided enough was enough and I decided to go vegetarian. I was tired of feeling sick all the time. I tried the 21 day vegan kickstart in Jan 2010 but it didn't quite stick.... So in April 2010 I tried it again and it stuck!! I started to make the changes and soon found out I had even more energy that disrupted my sleep. I was working nights and didn't go to the gym. It was 1 yr ago that I started back at the gym. My weight was 265 lbs.... Wasn't a happy c…
