http://www.worldveganday.org/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=451 I've always wanted to go to ireland (and new zealand and austria) because i have always pictured ireland (and new zealand where Xena was taped) to be lush - fields of lush green, with lambs roaming freely. Well, the pic above is taken in ireland, and I never knew baby lambs can be so cute. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dinner and / or a sweater for some people though unfortunately. and one of the people there say this, and I love it - great words: "The world would be a much better place if we put as much energy into being kind as we do into…

How long have you been vegan? I know we have other threads, but let's make a chart here. This isn't to show that some are better than others for being vegan longer, but just to get to know more about each other and we can tell who is new to veganism and who has been vegan for 20 years. We'll all have a variety of life experiences to share. I think we can learn from others based on different experiences. Anyway, for those interested, as of July 2006, how long have you been vegan: robert = 10 years (December 8, 1995 vegetarian, a few months later Vegan) Feel free to reply and as replies come in, I'll start the chart in this initial thread. 1. loveliberate-----…

Hey guys, I found this link, let me know what you think. They heavily criticise PETA's work in a very one-sided disrespectful way. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1913999390200944075&q=bullshit The quality isn't great, the video is about 15 mins.

Hey, like I do every year, I post about walnuts. jonzen and others from the past years have been fans of the walnuts from my Mother's farm. In this case, Tasha helped my Mother pick up the walnuts, crack them and sort them out. It was a major help for her because she normally does all the work herself if I'm not around to help out (and I wasn't in town much at all this winter because I was on tour). Thanks Tasha! They are $5 a pound, plus a few dollars for shipping but as always I'll toss in extras, like Vega products. If you're interested in bags of walnuts grown on the farm I grew up on, please let me know. Thanks! $5 a pound and they come in 1 pound bags.

So would anyone here say meat eating is evil? Or should another term be used? Have you dealt with anyone who resented being called evil or told meat eating was wrong and then tried to blame you for environmental degredation (since the rainforest is being cleared to grow it), or claiming you care more about animals than people.

Hi everyone, I thought it would be interesting to see what others do on Thanksgiving. I know it will be hard to watch people consume animals and other unhealthy items. How do you handle Thanksgiving being a Vegan and what are your plans this year? Since my fiance and I are both raw, as well as my mother-in-law, we will be having a raw feast. We are all planning on bringing some raw dishes for everyone to try and we will be getting take-out from our favorite raw restaurant (Cafe Gratitude) on Wednesday night to save for Thursday. Also, the three of us each adopted a turkey from the Farm Sanctuary. It is $20 and they send you a photo of your turkey. I think that will…

Hiya folks, Over in the photos section, I noticed that a poster had "Cardio is for pussies" as their signature. I want to comment on that so I started this thread. I'd started to reply over on the other thread but got this response: Here's my thoughts on this. I do "have a problem" with sexism/sexist language. I'm very familiar with how some folks use the word "pussy" as described above - it's used as an insult against men who look/act/speak effiminately / "like a female". It's not ok to use gender as an insult and there's nothing wrong with a man being "effiminate" or a woman being "masculine". I doubt that the person who has that signature was thinking about th…

I'm still unable to find a deordorant with healthy ingredients that's strong enough for me. I've tried deodorants by nature's gate and Jason with no luck. I know someone suggested crystal body deodorant in one of the threads but it contains aluminum and I was told that aluminum is bad. Please if you guys here know of any good deodorants please let me know. Thanks. Back to top

Russia has a long history of scientific discovery and space exploration through the use of animals. Beginning with space dog Laika in 1957, the space program expanded to run tests on other dogs (many returned safely to Earth) and eventually monkeys. Although the monkey testing program was stopped through lack of funding in the mid-1990's, the nation has announced plans to send the closest relation to humans to a place where no man has gone before: Mars. And here's us thinking it will be a human first stepping onto the Martian surface… http://www.universetoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/monkey_mars.jpg I must admit, I had to read the story twice before I believed i…
