So Im wondering how hard it would be to gain muscle at home with no/limited equipment? I only really have a pull up bar and cant really afford much else at the time. Been looking at different body weight exercises but not sure how to exactly make an effective program. Any ideas?

I know a bunch of you are participating in the Body Transformation Challenge. I know this because I have over 80 photos a bunch of you have sent me. Interestingly, about half of the participants are non-forum members, well, maybe a third, not half. So that still leaves two thirds of you who are on the forum, so feel free to share some of your progress, struggles, questions, etc. All the best,

I have been feeling better after a 4 month battle with a shoulder injury and during that time I got a little out of shape, because I hate doing cardio, LOL...and with the holidays and all, I started eating more junk! So, here I am getting back into the heavy weights and want to get back to gaining mass. Right now I am about 205 lbs at 6'3" and last summer I was 212 lbs and I thikn I was leaner. So, I am trying to pack back on the muscle and I would like to gain as much as possible. Right now I am working mostly with muscle memory, gaining back what I lost the last 4 months with the injury. I always struggle when I work through a mass stage because I always gain some fat…

How do you guys get such small stomachs? is it all down to dieting? I hate doing ab work and I've hardly ever done it in my whole life! but I think it's time to do something about my stomach once and for all! The only time I ever had a flat stomach was when I was fruitarian and I loved it! So guys!!! is there a way of keeping a relatively small/flat stomach while maintaining mass?

I just joined this gym, it's pretty new, a little over a year old. So all the materials are all still pretty new. And whenever I walk in there I instantly smell all the off gassing of the toxic materials. I can't help it, I'm very sensitive. Each area of the place has a different smell, but each one is totally off. I walk up the stairs and through one part of it and it smells like a pool to me, even though there is no pool there. Just like chlorine or something. Then I walk in the weight area or spinning room and smell the pure awful smell of rubber. Each area smells different but it all smells like building materials and really bad. There is not much ventilation eithe…

Hi Everybody, I understand that High intensity training is done for a brief period, low frequency and low volume. But I am experimenting with bodyweight movements like dips, atlas pushups, diamonds etc. I am doign two sets of each - so basically 6 sets for the chest. Is that overkill, considering these are only bodyweight exercises? If it's pure weight training, I'd only do one or two sets for chest or any muscle group.......but since this is bodyweight, I felt I could increase the volume a bit. Is this right, or do I keep the volume low, like maybe three sets instead of six? Thanks.

OK so I am 9 days out from my contest. My front lat spread sucks, the only way I can get my lats to flare is to start from a front double biceps. Otherwise they stay narrow, any pointers?! If I do it from a front double biceps I look like a bat and it looks awesome....so i know i have good lats and ppl have told me!!! i have a posing class on saturday so that should help but there will be a lot of others in there requiring the teacher's attention as well..

Hello everyone, I just finished a half of block of tofu with some soy sausage patties while nearly gagging. Bulking is great for vegans since we get a large variety of foods to get calories and protein from, but when it comes to cutting my diet consists of 80% soy whether it is coming from soy protein powder, tofu, tempeh, or high processed soy meats. I've eaten and loved soy for the past 7 years here, but I'm slowly approaching a soy overload mark. Many times when I eat soy now I get this burning bitter aftertaste in my mouth which causes me to squint my eyes in disgust. Now I'm a tough person, and I can stomach this crap sickly aftertaste (it does actually make me…

Can anyone give me some advice about whether or not I should be taking Creatine? I have not longer started working out at the gym but I am going 4-5 times a week, mainly strength training with weights but a little cardio to start. I am 6'4 and weigh 71kg. Slowly gaining a bit of weight since starting. I have upped my carbs and protein daily. I take Clean Lean Protein everyday as well as b12 and flaxseed and vitamin c every other day but that's all for supplements. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I currently workout at the YMCA. I kind of want to work out at 24 hr fitness for their convenient hours, but the employees there tend to be very rude and pushy. Also, they've been converting a lot of locations to "Super Sport" and people with the pre-paid "all acess pass" either have to pay a higher rate or have to renew their membership all together, which I find very sneaky. I've also read of other bad experiences such as people having difficulty canceling their membership and other horrible behavior.

Okay so I went to my normal workout today and realized that they had moved the free weights to a new room.. Okay so I get on with my squats and so on and then I realize that the room is half the length of the old free weight area. This became more apparent when a handful of other guys were trying to do their lifts in the same area and were having to rotate in a small bit of free floor space.. I looked around, trying to find or make a free area to do my deadlifts but I couldn't find anything.. It seems the gym has added half an hour onto my workouts by moving the weights.. Okay.. I wasn't too happy but I thought "maybe they are going to double up and put some new weights…

I have been having problem with my shoulders: pain, sore to touch at end of collar bone, etc. First my right and now my left. The right, has been sore, to varying degree for two months. Do you think dumbbells could cause problem? For last six months, I have been exclusively using dumbbells. I was thinking they might be putting a lot of pressure on my shoulders, since heavy weight isolated to each arm, versus both arms balancing the weight as with a barbell. For example, I hold the dumbbells, to do bench press, as I sit on the bench and lay back to lie on the bench. As a fall back slowly on the bench, I am holding the dumbbells with each hand. Even going slow, that…

I keep wondering am I placing too much stress on my joints, tendons and ligaments. I have lifted heavy for 24 years but sometimes wonder if it is natural or should I stick to light weights, walking, low impact, etc. Will I be better off in the long run? How many bodybuilders who are natural, experience serious joint problems as they get older and as a result of heavy lifting? I have always stood on the other side of the fence and believe it strengthens not only the musculature, but all of the tendons and ligaments, hence strengthening the joints. Any thoughts on this?
