Clearly the solution to the AC problem is to package and ship cold air from Alaska down to the rest of the states

I agree with offense on 1-4, particularly the part about globalisation of production. In addition to monetary policy Chinese wages have been changing recently in large part due to their 1-child policy and the resulting shrinking labor force

No, the fact that he is American doesn't mean anything to me. He is a politician. Politicians lie and twist facts to suit their aganda. I agree with this, I don't view politicians as a good source of information. Politics aside though, I think the scientific evidence overwhelmingly supports the view that humans are the major factor contributing to greater amounts of carbon in the atmosphere and thus an temperature increase

I think one thing to consider is that when labor's wages are raised through consumer pressure or unionization, then management has a stronger incentive to automate labor. This means that there will likely be a smaller number of total jobs, but the ones that exist will probably pay better and require greater skill. This also leads to the dilemma of whether a smaller number of better paying jobs, or a greater number of lower paying jobs leads to the greatest good.

I've thought a lot about it too, and ultimately I've chosen to be in support of buying goods from the poor countries. There are downsides to this (i.e. rampant child labor in some places, lack of environmental regulations). But in the end I think most laborers in 3rd world production shops are there because their alternatives are even worse. And I tend to think that a successful boycot of products produced by foreign non-union labor would put a lot of people in a worse position.

Welcome to the 1000 club. You got here really fast. As you can see, I joined the site in 1970, so it took me a few decades to get to 1000+ posts -
Is this diet sufficient for bulking?

I usually rinse canned beans, it makes them a lot less salty -
I still haven't seen Hercules in New York. I give Conan the Barbarian the rating as best Arnold movie

Add oatmeal to your diet! It's cheap, healthy, high in calories -
