Does anybody know of anybody who makes custom sports gear? I need to get Pro-Wrestling boots but the ONLY option is a leather boot. I asked a company if they offered vegan options but the response was http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e11/FlyingMaple/boots.jpg ^Those are the type of boots I am looking for, except vegan^

All, I am curious about how many vegans are involved in the shooting sports, either professionally/competitively, recreationally and/or as practice for shootings defensive applications. As many of you probably know, shooting for recreation and competition is done in most if not all countries, and is included in the Olympics. And of course, I do not consider hunting as a sport. Hopefully there are not very many vegan hunters! Personally, I am into firearms and shooting primarily for defensive applications. However, I am also interested in getting into recreational and competitive shooting, esp. IDPA and similar practical/tactical styles. So who else here shoots…

I am kitty sitting for my friends who have cable television. I dont have a TV at all so its weird just flipping through channels and watching society unfold around us. Anyways. They had a womens college volleyball game on, and as a male, I was of course drawn to it. I used to play in high school on a boys volleyball team. We took state champions and I was named top player in our state. So it was nice watching this. Then I started looking at their body structure and their legs are huge! I love it! I guess that why I like watching girls soccer also. Big damn strong legs. It got me wanting to play some beach volleyball, to bad we are covered in almost 5 inches of…

My girlfriend works for the ACLU (a canvasing job). This requires her to walk door to door and ask for donations. She says she wishes to get into better shape. I told her that regular strength training can help, but in regards to cardiovascular training I don't know what to tell her. I feel if I tell her the wrong thing she can either be too tired to work, and have symptoms of overtraining, or she will be doing too little, and end up gaining unwanted weight. Any ideas on what to do?

Ok so here is the situation with me: I am 23, 135lbs, very toned with little body fat but also little muscle. I have tried in the past to build muscle with very little success. I won't say I am giving up on muscle building, but I want to try a new approach to fitness. I have pretty terrible endurance. I'm used to working out for less then 30min 3x a week. So endurance is my new goal. BUT I do NOT want to get any skinnier then I am! I really can't afford to lose any more weight. Here is what I am thinking: Sunday- Hot Yoga Monday- Spartacus Workout ( http://www.menshealth.com/spartacus/workouts/ ) Tuesday- Dynamic Apnea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_apnea) / …

Hey guys I found a new outdoor soccer league. Below is more info. Contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in playing. I recommend about 10 players a team dedicate a player as a manager and make sure each team has a goalie. It will be cheaper cost wise per team, since it cost us $2 more run an individual player online (We would have to charge a surcharge). Cost is $450 per team or $47.00 per player. (Pretty cheap) 4 Quarters for the season (Fall, Spring, Winter and Summer), with about 2 weeks between each season. Games on Saturday and Sunday Evening. Start Times 7 or 8pm at the Gresham or Barlow Turf field. List team history and desired skill le…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcsvL_oyRHE Anyone down to do this at this location? This is the closest to me (about 5 hours away ) and the earliest(next month). I would love to get some like minded people who have a general passion for fitness to do this as a group and really rock out. http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_georgia.php

caught this show last night on MSNBC. it's sorta like a news/documentary style show, similiar to 48 hours on CBS. i think each episode they are going to follow different fighters around. the one i saw last night featured Enoch Wilson and Urijah Faber, one of the top lightweights around. it was a pretty good show. did a pretty good job of dispeling some myths about MMA, like when Faber was discussing the rules of MMA with his disapproving mother and Wilson pointed out there are more serious injuries in figure skating than MMA. they followed them training and at their day jobs. they even interviewed a couple of female MMA fighters, which you never see anywhere else. it airs…

I did a lot of walking over the weekend & developed a mid-sized water blister between the big & second toe. Aside from draining it (although I have read of letting it alone &l allowing the body reabsorb it) and applying anti-biotic cream, what do you guys suggest for quick healing, and also protection while working out. I'm in week 5 of Insanity, and as many of you know there is a lot of running/pounding on the feet. Any suggestions on how to tape this or prevent further rubbing/irritation until it heals?

Anyone here see WEC 38? Jamie Varner vs. Donald Cerrone and Urijah Faber vs. Jens Pulver 2. Was a great show - only one fight made it past the first round. I always enjoy WEC because it's mostly guys around my weight - 135- and 145ers. Plus, Miguel Torres.

Oddly...I'm riding 500miles this week and I'm gaining weight. It doesn't bother me because I know most of it is water since I'm really stressing drinking alot more than normal...I'm also eating about 800 calories more than normal but I'm burning about 2000 calories more than normal...of course we all know calorie counting is BS for us endurance athletes...anyway I feel a bit bigger and I think alot of it could be inflamation. My ankles seem a bit larger and my thighs seem much bigger. I'd think I'd be breaking my muscles down since I'm not giving them any rest at all so its gotta be water or swelling. I'll know on Wednesday after my day off...or maybe a week later…

Hi folks! I'm a strength based athlete and am looking for some advice. Due to my other work I recently had to take some time more or less off from my regular training, and also had an extended period of having to eat out a lot/eat badly etc. During this time I gained 10lbs. I assumed this weight would fall off as soon as I resumed my regular routine, but I'm now 4wks in and while my strength has more or less returned (at least the weights I am lifting at the gym are back to the same they were before the break), the extra weight remains (in fact if anything I've gained a couple more pounds). While I'm obviously not thrilled with this for aesthetic reasons, I'm also reall…

Hi, Just wondered if anyone could recommend a weight training programme for martial artists. In my case Muay Thai but would be interested in the broader discussion anyway. I used to have a book on this by Geoff Thomson but lent it to someone and never got it back. My main aim is to build power but also to strengthen muscle around the joints, shoulders etc. to prevent injury. Also how to time it, I aim to train Muay Thai two - three times a week (1 and 1/2 hour class) or perhaps swap one of those sessions for a grappling art, and was looking at doing weights in between maybe twice a week. Also nutrition, I get a lot of knocks and bruises so try to make su…
