  1. Oh, I have done this before; I can attest to the awesome deliciousness of this.
  2. Welcome to the boards. I have trouble with my belly still lingering after about a year and a half of working on it (thought mine started out quite massive). Just persevere and it should go away eventually.
  3. It has always been suggested to me to do cardio and stretching. That is all I have ever really heard to help out.
  4. From what Daywalker said once, you want a light meal high in protein and low in fat, because excess fat and water cause your body to digest the protein more slowly; you want the protein to begin digestion as fast as possible.
  5. I just tried rooibos tea for the fist time last night. It smells like Swisher Sweet cigars, a kind my grandpa used to smoke. This made the tea nostalgic and queasifying at the same time. Black tea is still my favorite.
  6. Thanks . I am hoping the one where I have black hair and makeup helps with the appeal of the younger PETA "emo" girl crowd that I know is prevalent there, haha.
  7. I went ahead and entered for the hell of it. Here is what I sent. I should have planned ahead and made some with some sort of pose.
  8. I am self-concious about being hairy because of what many women and other people in general say about hairy men. I hear comments quite often about how it is gross. I keep myself trimmed, but not shaven because that is too much of a pain-in-the-ass for me to deal with right now. My back is what really gets to me.
  9. I am definitely going to buy some from there when I replenish my funds again. Thanks.
  10. Sorry to hear about your cat. It is especially hard to lose an animal when they must be eutanized.
  11. It is feeling a bit better today, so I don't think I hurt it as bad as I had originally thought. I will try doing some light stretching that I am comfortable with, like you suggested. Thanks.
  12. Sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like you and Scooter has some great memories together that you will be able to cherish forever.
  13. Alright, thanks. I will continue to train upper body as that won't hurt the injury at all. I didn't consider eating plenty to maintain while taking a break, thanks.
  14. I pulled my left hamstring I think quite badly in hapkido last night; I actually felt it rip. Has anyone had experience with this? I am wondering what is the best way to aid recovery and get back into my squatting and deadlifting ASAP. I don't think exercising my legs would be the best idea right now, as it hurts to move my leg in almost any way. Should I do any light stretching or what? Thanks.
  15. I am a very hairy guy and I used to sweat quite a bit. Since I have gotten into better shape, I have started to sweat much less and probably sweat less than the average person now. When I shave it doesn't seem to change much how I sweat, so the impact is at most minimal.
  16. I didn't check the link, but if this is unhulled hemp, be aware that it is irradiated (whole hemp seeds can't come into the US without being rendered sterile, and irradiation is what is used for it). If they are hulled, then never mind! They are hulled, so all is good!
  17. I checked Amazon and I seem to have missed that sale, dang. There are also hemp seeds for sale on luckyvitamin.com for five-something per ten ounce package. If anyone knows of cheaper prices, tell me; hemp is kinda pricey.
  18. I never thought to soak hemp seeds since they cannot germinate. Should one still soak them to draw out digestive inhibitors?
  19. Luckyvitamin.com just cut the prices of their Nutiva hemp protein; it is $8.23 per pound and the shipping is around $6. I bought six pounds for about $56 total. Just thought I would give a heads-up for anyone who uses a lot of hemp powder.
  20. I had my first batch of sprouted almonds yesterday. The flavor isn't what I expected, but that isn't a bad thing. It is still similar to the dry ones, but as andesuma said, the bite is similar to watercrest. The flavor is hard to describe, but they do seem lighter and more fresh.
  21. I sprouted some almonds and pumpkin seeds today (well, insofar as they sprout) and made them into a cereal with some raisins, cinnamon and a squirt of agave. I then started to sprout some lentils I had soaking and I nibbled on a couple that turned into a few, which turned into quite a few. A few hours later my stomach started to hurt and I couldn't figure out why at first. Should have known better
  22. I am interested in attending and am going to try my damnedest to make it out there. My friends and I were already planning on taking roadtrip out west, so maybe I and my one vegan friend could break off from the rest of the group for a couple of days.
  23. I suppose I am becoming too concerned over the comments of many raw foodists claiming any miniscule amount of cooked food to be absolute poison to the body. I will take this advice and just pay attention to what my body does as I eat more pure and live foods and how it reacts to "iffy" things like brewer's yeast (which I love the flavor of and currently do not notice any disputes between it and my body). I am on the "Eat to Live" diet right now, with a strong raw focus.
  24. Yes, welcome. I am also one of the new people from the Illinois area.
