  1. You Are Batman http://images.blogthings.com/whatsuperheroareyouquiz/batman.jpg Billionaire playboy by day. Saving the world by night. And you're not even a true superhero. Just someone with a lot of expensive toys! What Superhero Are You? http://www.blogthings.com/whatsuperheroareyouquiz/ I think you automatically get Batman when you select angsty because I picked the super strength one and that costumes aren't important.
  2. You Are 26% Evil http://images.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/evil-2.jpg A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well. In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil. How Evil Are You? http://www.blogthings.com/howevilareyouquiz/
  3. I give the most credit for my weight loss to strength training. If you don't strength train while trying to cut some fat, you can accidently burn off more muscle than you intended. As for cardio, stick to what is fun for you or, well, you won't stick to it. Try to cut out as much processed (veggie burgers, microwave dinners and other pre-packaged foods) and opt for homemade soups. Eat as many fresh and raw fruits and veggies you can. If you like to eat lots of nuts and seeds, only eat them raw, as it is much healthier and you will find that you aren't as apt to overeat on them.
  4. I switched to a new program about a month ago where I exercise each muscle group twice a week. I am doing all of the "good" compound exercises, with hardly any of the isolation work gainers preach against. Reading up on stuff that Daywalker and many others said, I decided to switch from the traditional way of taking each muscle group to failure on multiple exercises once per week, to only taking them one rep short of failure each set and doing mainly compound exercises. I do my reps slowly and exagerate the eccentric contraction. My lower body and core have been responding amazingly and I am gaining well there. I am having trouble trouble with many of my upper body exercises, though. I am not sure if maybe I need to eat more because my lower body is "stealing" all the calories from my upper body or what. My weight has been increasing slowly.
  5. It is good to see a government doing something like that.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I, too was apprehensive about becoming vegan for fear of never being able to become big again. This site and the pictures of Daywalker and Robert dispelled that myth for me.

    hello

Welcome! Don't worry about your bad English, which really isn't bad at all; I am working to improve my bad German right now.
  8. Squats and dumbell bench. I am working on deepening my squats while keeping my back in proper form. Right now my form is good until I start to dip below parallel, then my lower back begins to bend. My favorite exercise is standing barbell curls, but I know many don't consider that much of a mass exercise.
  9. I like to have the option of both. At my home I have a bowflex and boxing bag/pull-up/dip station set up. It is nice to use on those days when I am working over the summer and get back at eight or nine at night and have to go back into work at five in the morning. Here at school, the gym is within sight (sort of) of my dorm and I always have plenty of time to take a stroll there. When I am out of college and move into my own place, I want to get a squat rack, bench, bowflex select tech (however it is spelled) dumbells, a few larger dumbells and take my bowflex from home. Oh, and both a standard and hex bar. It should be a nice set up and I should be able to incorporate plenty of variety. If I set it up properly, it should take up too terribly much room. I would still probably hit a gym now and then to add some variety with something if need be.
  10. Yeah... I didn't mention that statement because I didn't want to get your blood boiling. The thing is, why should he have an interest in dissing soy? He's not dumb, he must have picked up something from somewhere. Or so I hope. Usually if someone has the mindset that "Veganism is retarded" he or she will first attempt to bash on soy, since that is the primary protein touted by vegans.
  11. Welcome. When I move out of my dorm and into an apartment next year for college, I plan to eat a diet more or less like yours. Lots of lentils and other legumes.
  12. I managed to blend them up with a regular blender, just add your ingredients slowly and give them some time to blend. I upgraded to a k-tec and it was well worth the investment with how often I use it.
  13. At my last college we didn't do many things due to insurance reasons, but at my current one, the instructor doesn't hold back at all. If you are worried about being behind everyone, a university is a great place to start as every semester most of the class is composed to people entirely new to martial arts.
  14. I wasn't able to touch mine until I started up into martial arts.
  15. I don't have the link sitting around, but green smoothies are awesome. Many people here on the board swear by them, including myself (a new convert). My favorite is one big bunch of spinach with two bananas and some protein powder. You might want to go lighter on the greens or heavier, depending on your preference. Here is a list that I have saved to my computer. Delicious Combinations Mango-parsley 2 large mangos 1 bunch parsley Water Peach-spinach 6 peaches 2 handfuls of spinach leaves Water Mango-weeds 2 mangos 1 handful of lambs quarters, stinging nettles, purslane, etc Water Strawberry-banana-romaine 1-cup strawberries 2 bananas 1/2 bunch romaine Water Apple-kale-lemon 4 apples 1/2 lemon juice 4-5 leaves of kale Water Kiwi-banana-celery 4 very ripe kiwis 1 ripe banana 3 stalks of celery Water Pear-kale-mint 4 ripe pears 4-5 leaves of kale 1/2 bunch of mint Water Finger banana-spinach 10 finger-bananas 2 handfuls of spinach leaves Water Bosc pear-raspberry-kale 3 bosc pears 1 handful of raspberries 4-5 leaves of kale Water
  16. Psyclon Nine. It is an old video and they put on much better shows on their current tour. The singer only sings (screams, I know) into the voice distortion thing a few times during the song and the rest of the time it is unaided screaming. Really hard stuff, so most will probably not like.

    Hi!

Yep, there is plenty of information to be found here on raw foods, weight lifting and most other aspects of fitness. Welcome.
  18. You have come to the right place. Welcome.
  19. There was a thread a while back that was about some substance in watermelon that your body can convert into arginine.
