  1. I would love to have a book hand delivered! Meet the man, the legend, the robert cheeke! (considering you're all over the place all the time, this one might not be hard to do!)
  2. It's been a long time since I've noticed, but what sort of things are you doing on the bike (trainer, or outside, not so much in class) these days? Did you get enough of a base in for the intensity to start, or are you in the "race into shape" camp? just curious. you seem to be doing well.
  3. I know have a weighted sled AND an old tractor tire to compliment my cinder blocks, large sand bag and slosh tube. Things is comin' together. Will go lift again soon. 7.5 hours from now soon.
  4. Robert! Its 'integral yoga'. Same phone #, but the website is www.yogahealthbooks.com I was referred there by 2 out of the 3 local co-ops I asked. Might be something to that.
  5. Went to the gym again. Getting back to it again. Not as strong as I was, but I'll accept that. Down to 178 today! (But lean!) I'm working on taking that # back the other way. I think I was probably dehydrated from last night anyhow. And hour and a half outside at 80some degrees and sunny makes you sweat. Also, doc cleared me to not wear my aircast at work. But the gym and practice its essential. Sweet.
  6. Ok. Update. Left a phone message, and an email. The one store I was able to contact told me they only get books from their distributor and from nowhere else. The name of that distributor is Intrical Yoga. The # is 1 800 262 1008. The owners name is Ganess (sp?). Robert, I think you might want to field that one, as I am very confident you'll pitch it better than I ever could. Good luck, and I hope you can do it! Also, I'll spot into Fast and Furless (vegan store I sometimes forget about) with my copy tonight.
  7. I used to. I don't ride anymore. I've raced road, mtb, cross and track. And alleycats, if that counts. I got outta that game though. I kept reinjuring my knee and got sick of it. I might be back someday though. We'll see. I wouldn't be surprised. 5 years in one sport does that to ya.
  8. did you print the shorts, too? what's $15 canadian in real american dollars? (kidding, i bet canadian money is stronger now anyhow!)
  9. So, after lifting yesterday I went to a stair workout with some of the rugby team (extra credit pratice - the coach showed up too!) Anyhow, as we know, I can't run stairs in this boot, so I brought my cinderblock and spend a half hour squat throwing it (overhead, swing, behind the head/tri) and doing some squat lifts, pushups, leg lifts, crunches, inverted rows, etc. It was super fun and amazing, and I think I moved myself up a peg on the coaches list for showing up when I "couldn't participate" and kicking my own ass and being with the team. these guys are family and they're all awesome. anyhow, had a blast and feel super good right now. Makes me want a training license even more. GREAT DAY! (aside from the 85 and humid it is out. I'm totally getting skin cancer again this year...do not want.)
  10. Well, I went to three co-ops. My friend is in the middle of demolition to redo the building he just bought. he'll have a retail space. He does endurance athlete training, massage, v02 max and lactic threshold testing and bike fits. among some other things. I can promise your book will be there. None of the book managers were around, but I'll email/otherwise follow up with them. I will show them my personal copy. If they'd rather you contact them, or if YOU'D rather you contact them, let me know and I'll forward you emails and phone #'s. I might also hit the local anarcist bookstore. You never know...
  11. I'm gonna go leave my house right now and hit 3 or 4 co-ops that have a small books section and see if there is a manager. I'll bring my personal copy for them to flip through. I'll give them your website address, but I don't know how much else I can do. Or, I'll get their contact info if I can and you can pitch them. You're better at that sort of thing than I am anyhow. GOOD LUCK!
  12. YEAH! thanks, you's! went again today. I am gonna have fun with this! I gotta call my teammate that lives by me and coordinate gym times. Enough of this lifting alone business!
  13. I was confused. that's kinda what I thought you meant after I reread it. You can do one legged leg press for good quad isolation, or, do the pistol squats. i love those things!
  14. you can do one legged squats with weight? I can only do a few without weight at a time! are we talking about pistol squats? or lunge squats. i'm confused.
  15. you rock, chewy. this is an excellent post. it should be a sticky.
  16. I lifted upper body yesterday morning! and now I have DOMS! I've missed this! Will go again tomorrow am. I'm excited. what'd I do. 2 sets to one shy of failure. lighter weights than last time, a bit. notables. (because they are lifts i was doing before.) bench 120 x 13 130 x 6 tri pullover 40 x 14 45 x 8 and incline bench was horrible. i don't remember the weight but it was VERY bad. will make it a point to do more of that one.
  17. day one (and yesterdays half day) with the boot complete. it isn't so bad. I can make it. rugby practice was interesting, though... I also got asked a lot of questions (at work and at practice). anyhow, waking up early and lifting heavy things. I'm excited. haven't been to the gym in almost months! I'll be nothing if not rested, right? Besides, chewy's got me inspired.
  18. you're right. it totally is! I know the feeling. eat yourself sick, then lift yourself exhausted. it's a perfect system! you just gotta eat like a champ and put it down. (or, DON'T put it down, if you mean the fork)
  19. hella backed. these guys rule. bloodlust revenge is an awesome ep. Most precious blood is not as good as either this band, or indecision.
  20. yeah. same boat. stress fractured foot. For a long time I did nothing. lately i've been doing bodyweight stuff (pull ups/pushups/etc) and upper body stuff (not standing, obvs). or did you mean cardio stuff? if that's the case, shadowbox. (even if its' just 30 seconds of as fast as you can uppercuts .that'll wipe ya). also, just circuits of pullups and pushups gets the heart going!
  21. So, I just thought you'd all like to know that i succumbed to the wonder that is iced coffee. I do that sometimes. I just wanted to let y'all know so you could give me shit for it. Seriously, I still don't think it's the best for me, and not something i want to make a long term habit of, but oh boy is it fun in the short term.
