  2. Vega contains 2.5g maca (about a teaspoon), it's an adaptogen (stress tolerance) and gives an energy boost. It is Brendan Brazier's suggested alternative to caffeine since it nutritively boosts the function of the adrenal glands.
  3. Squat and deadlift are the two mainstays. Squat doesn't hit calves as much, and aside from that it's basically just different parts of the same muscles. There's also lunges. You can do lunges while holding dumbbells. And hack squats. Those four are all you need.

  6. You can find a ph food list chart on the web if you google for it. You want to eat alkaline food like lemon juice (fresh squeezed not from a bottle), watermelon, or chlorella. Those are the most alkalizing foods.
  7. You should get some liquid soap that you keep in a bottle. Shower gel or whatever it's called. Then you don't have to let it leave your pocket.
  8. Right now I have trueprotein.com mix out for delivery. It's my fifth time ordering from them (100 bucks for 6 month period). And this is my first time working with gemma rice and hemp at the same time. It's 45% gemma, 30% hemp, and 25% rice. Trying to meet the 4:3:2 ratio as mentioned in the thrive diet with an emphasis on the gemma. Chocolate chip cookie dough flavor. I take protein powder once a day usually, maybe two or three times after a hard workout. I make absolutely sure that I alkalize my blood somewhat after consuming a protein isolate, since most vegan protein sources are chlorophyll-included, gemma doesn't have that and requires the augmentation of lemon juice or a tablespoon of chloressence to not start peeing out my calcium. I start my day off with 1 serving of vega, 2tblsp of spirulina and 1tblsp of chloressence regardless, and that is probably 5 million times better than a protein powder. Just make sure that you alkalize your blood. Or else you will end up being hairless like a 50 year old meat eater.
  9. Check out aikido. Youtube video 'path beyond thought' is a good start. Aikido mocks all other martial arts, being a truly defensive method.
  10. Been playing Blue Dragon for the 360. Long term Final Fantasy fan here. Mistwalker is an extenuasion of that series. Final fantasy 13 is going to suck, because Hironobu Sakaguchi isn't in charge. Lost Oddysey is on my shelf, waiting for blue dragon to be done.

  13. Vegans shouldn't smoke because american spirits are the only vegan cigarettes and they are awful. Vegans also shouldn't smoke because being able to smell means knowing if something contains an animal product. Not to mention this is a bodybuilding site, and people who clog their capillaries are less likely to see any muscle gains. I was attuned to reiki in 2000 and felt almost forced into quitting smoking. I don't know if it's that easy for anyone, but to me quitting and not doing it anymore is like not being tobacco's bitch "all of a sudden".
  14. I have a "male plus" pill from tattvasherbs.com that contains mucuna pruriens as part of its extracted compounds; that is how I found out about its existence. It contains such a tiny amount of nicotine that it probably is only noticable in that it prevents the mind from going insane in the case that you are addicted to tobacco during its withdrawals. In other words, if you find a mucuna pruriens extract on the web, take 1 serving and see if it helps with the nic-fits. If you go with the seeds on maya-ethnobotanicals it probably would make sense to just eat one.

  17. There is a small amount of nicotine in velvet bean, mucuna pruriens. If you eat one a day, it may help you lose tolerance. Nicotine patches probably have more nicotine than you need. I quit smoking 8 years ago after chainsmoking for 4 years. I wouldn't recommend you quit without some form of assistance like a patch or a velvet bean. Mainly because it will mess with your head more than you need. Oral fixation is probably the most difficult thing about it. Look forward to smelling in 2 weeks. You will probably love how plants in gardens smell if you happen to live near any flowers.
  18. Dates are the best source of Glucose. The liver metabolizes glucose into glycogen, which fuels muscles for explosive contractions. Dates are the best thing to eat pre-workout (vega bars have dates as their main ingredient) unless the workout lasts longer than 1 hour. Then you would have to eat more dates in the middle of the workout. Complex carbohydrates burn longer and slower for aerobic activity rather than anaerobic. Something more like a treadmill and less like a dumbbell. source: the thrive diet So basically you eat starches for longer workouts and sugars for shorter more muscular-intense ones. And yeah, you don't really need pre-workout food if you've got a good meal plan like veggieprincess said.
  19. Country Life MSM (from whole foods) is Vegetarian. So is Glucosamine from GNC.
  20. Vitamineral Green is the best multivitamin/green drink. Chlorella and spirulina are the two best sources of nutrients on earth. I eat 2tbslp of spirulina and 1tbslp of chlorella at the same time in a cup of OJ to get it down. The vitamineral green on the other hand is palatable enough to put in a bottle of water in the morning.
