Hey everyone, I've never posted any kind of progress photos on here, but I wanted to throw some up and maybe get some feedback. I also wanted to get a feeling of whether or not I had any chance at the muscle competitions this May. I've really wanted to participate in that ever since I saw the last one (I wasn't even on the board at the time). I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE posing. Everything I know, I pretty much picked up from watching Giacomo's vlogs. Hahaha. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/mikkei/Progress/Mikkei_Front.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/mikkei/Progress/Mikkei_Double_Bi.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c110/mikkei/Progress/Mikk…

Hi guys, how are ya I should start by confessing I'm not a vegan (I hope you are all understanding). I am a strict vegetarian for ethical reasons but I do still eat eggs and a bit of cheese (but not milk or butter or things). This website however has still inspired me a lot. I have(/had) always been a very skinny guy. You know the type that constantly looks like a recovering junkie. Twiglet arms etc. And then when I gave up meat a lot of people started joking about me saying i was weak and pathetic. I work in construction so you know the type I mean. I really wanted to prove them wrong so although I had never worked out before, after stopped eating meat I decided to t…

This photo was taken on April 3,2009 before switching to a vegan diet... I'm new to the forum please forgive any blunders after I post this. I began my vegan diet journey two years ago. When I first changed my eating habits after reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Foer I had no idea what I was doing diet wise. I came from a single parent family and most if not all of our meals were hamburger/tuna helper and canned microwave meals. My mother never cooked and in the end I had zero knowledge of where my food came from and honestly the distinction between the actual animal and what was on my plate didn't exist to me. Not until reading Eating Animals and being encouraged by…

Hey everyone! Here's a little bit about me: -I have never been in a bodybuilding routine -I'm mainly a runner (used to run ~80 miles a week a few years ago, now run 4-6 x/wk, 3-6 miles - ~30 miles a wk) *I sometimes switch a run for spin class in the gym -I go to the gym, usually after a run (3-5x/wk - only lift for about 20-40 mins) -When I lift at the gym, I have no plans of what to do, I just workout whatever muscles I feel like (usually do circuit training, aiming at different muscle - I do a lot of chest and back, and hardly ever do biceps/triceps - forearms are non-existent in my current training. lol) -Since I run, I have never had a "leg day" (although I feel my …

Hello! Is there a way to directly add pics to the site or do I have to add them to something like photobucket first? Thanks Michele

Its great to see a site for vegans, especially one centered around fitness. I have been vegan for about 8 years and veg prob another 6 before that. I have always had a issue gaining muscle, but seeing some of the progress of people on this site it gives me alot of motivation to work on it harder. I have always had an 'athletic" build but got very lazy a few years ago and jetted up to 230 pounds. I am 6'2" and my normal weight before that was in the 180's. About a year ago i got tired of the way i let myself go and decided to start doing something about it. I used to be very into martial arts but hadn't done anything for the last 5 years. So i decided to get back into it a…

Hello All, I've only been vegan for 2 months now but am in it for life - I've always been very active but after dislocating my shoulder in January of this year and then having surgery for it in April my activity level has been almost non-existent since the beginning of the year. While I do have most of my range of motion back my shoulder strength is still very weak so I'm limited as to what I can do for upper body exercises. Normally I would be out mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, etc. but those activities haven't been possible due to my shoulder. However, now that I'm regaining shoulder strength and mobility I've decided it's time to get cut! I want to get int…

Hi Everyone, Sorry about the crappy pic: I'll post better ones when I have someone to help me out! I was hoping to get some suggestions from you guys about my training. I've been lifting for about four years, but it was mostly boring circuit/isolation exercises and repetitive bouts of moderate cardio. I had pretty much plateaued--I was fitter than the average American, but still far from reaching my goals. Recently, after running across stumptuous.com and this site, I decided to get serious, lift heavy, and clean up my diet. So, here's the sitch: http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j28/queercat/IMG_2136.jpg I'm 5'6" and currently about 137 lbs. I am one week …

I am 7 weeks into my training now, but have only been starting to lift hard the last two weeks. I have just been coming off a 2 year period where I had virtual zero activity because of a bad accident. I got down to 127 lbs and was thin as a stick, I am up to 136 now (still very thin for 5 foot 9") and seem to be putting the muscle on decently. I cant really gain any more weight though how ever much I eat it seems. I am hoping the weight will start to come in the next couple of months. Still lots and lots of work to be done. My chest and abs seem to be the slowest coming, my arms and back I think are the fastest so far. Here are my personal bests from the last 2 weeks: Pu…

Here's another pic. I should get some good pictures taken, bad lighting and manipulation of the camera don't help:) Anyway, I'll include a before pic aswell: http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/8234/oldcomparepicdj5.jpg Started working out around the time I joined this site. Started lifting weights around this time last year, maybe a little before. Apart from "normal" food I had 1 tub of vega, 1 or 2 vega bars, 2 cliff bars and a little pea protein powder. I don't notice a difference when I supplement with protein, so I haven't for most part. I do eat a lot of high protein foods, and some soy products I eat have soy protein isolate in them. Only supplement I use is B-1…

Not sure this is the right subforum, but this post includes a photo so what the hell. Here's some info: 21 y/o F 170cm/59kg no idea how many calories per day I consume (don't count) or what's my fat% mostly weight training (3-4 times a week, usually 4). trying to incorporate some cardio, usually once a week, sometimes twice. So here's the deal, I'm pretty satisfied with where I am at now. I don't want to gain more muscle (don't want to crash the "too much for a girl" verge) and I don't want to get skinnier/fatter. What do I do to keep my mass without losing or gaining? How much iron is enough just to maintain (I always keep lifting…

I just took a month off from working out because I've been sick; so I'm not as good of shape as in these pics, but I was not long ago. I want to get leaner and feel more energetic with a healthier vegan diet.

Hey guys! So i decided to finally update you all. I posted the before pictures on this site a year ago, which was after about 6 months of going to the gym, doing some capoeira, etc. Since then, I have been consistently lifting 2-3 days a week, running, regularly rock climbing, and doing interval training (20-30 minute spurts involving burpees, dive-bombers, tuck jumps, squats, etc.) Let me know your feedback! At the time of the before pictures I was around 116lbs and now I am 127lbs.

Hi Guys, I want to become a vegetarian bodybuilder, I'm 27 thus, in order to create a diet, I need your advices! That's me few days ago. http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/8418/day09front.jpg My current level of activity is very sedentary, I'm a student and I spend most of the day sitting on a chair. Since Two weeks I've started a very soft lifting programm, three times per week, I spend in the Gym approximately 1 Hour and half each time. I've used Harris-Benedict formula to calculate my calories exependiture, It's about 1900.44 kcal/day. My questions are: 1) At your opinion what's my body type? 2) Should I increase my calorie amount in order to gain lean mass (an…

If Megan Fox can have killer abs, why can't I!? Therefore, I have begun what I have dubbed Operation 6-pack. Here are my first set of progress pics - 2 weeks full vegan (3 years vegetarian before), 1 week straight daily calisthenics. It's a work in progress still, obviously, but I can totally feel a difference already! 1 week progress photo (march 1, 2012) starting point - way more fluffy (feb 23, 2012)

SO quick back story. Was generally over weight & a big meat eater. 2 Years ago I decided to go veggie & get fit. I dropped from 95ish kg right down to 65. Did this through running, Clean eating & martial arts, Also some light toning with free weights. Got into the running & focused on that but on seeing the size of the cloths I had to buy (xsmall or small) I decided to drop all cardio besides the Keysi. I have put on roughly 14kg in 4 months. Some pics below. Top pic is before bulking up. http://i51.tinypic.com/33jsunr.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/9h3nya.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/20rsho7.jpg

I dropped about 30 pounds and here are the results (I have posted this before, but we never had a special forum for before/afters before!): http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c78/pamelaswitzer/newbeforeandafter.jpg Here's a very recent one... I feel a bit weird about it since I'm in my bra and underwear (and they don't even match! lol), but i'm not showing any more than if I were in a bikini. I might take it down if I feel too weird, but I'm putting it up because the contrast is so strong. I cropped the recent pic first, and then cropped the older one in the same places (shoulders and legs) and then resized the older one to be the same height as the newer one to ens…
