http://i46.tinypic.com/35bdu6s.jpg My non-vegan "before" picture. Eating 6xs a day, high protein, low carbs. Lifted 5xs a week. Not really doing any cardio. http://i48.tinypic.com/kbanuq.jpg After turning vegan a few months after the before pic. Cardio and intervals, lift weights 3-4xs a week. I started juicing my veggies and fruits too. I feel so much better and enjoy food more I'm new to this forum so decided to check it out and upload progress pictures like everyone else. haha I recently committed to being vegan after a lot of relapsing. I was too caught up on getting protein which made it hard for me to commit. I didn't feel that great during my meatless intense…

Okay this isn't so much of a "Then and now" but it's something I've been meaning to do for a while. I used to be quite fat and this was me cutting off another 14lbs, so between those two photos I lost that. When the program I'm on is finished, I will post something new. This is from a year ago when I was still loosing fat and it's not a great image anyway as I had to scan it http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t89/mythil/0001_zpse1272ab3.jpg Yea, cringe..

Hey All, this is my first progress photo. I was working out in the early spring/summer, but due to hockey injuries / buying a house , I gave it up. I have been back in the gym ( 6 days a week ) since November 15th, and I have FULL intentions to keep this going until I am too old or brittle to be there anymore. I am finding a solace in the gym. A kind of peace that I never knew could exist by simply moving heavy objects around... These might have been after a couple of weeks in the gym. (around November 15th,2012) http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s509/bruinsev/IMG_0369_zps0e5d6c35.jpg And Current! (First week of January, 2013) http://i1055.photobucket.com/albums/s5…

I wanted to see my abs logn time ago, since i havent seen them since I was a meat eater, I had them 3 years ago but I was constantly hungry. I am mostly a runner right now, not a body builder, but I do vinyasa yoga and pick up some weights at least once a week. I track my calories with cronometer.com and I follow 811, low fat raw vegan diet plan. I cant eat enough of greens to get my protein so I use some days protein raw vegan powder, its not optimal, but I get bored of greens or juicing. I have 1 head a day of romaine, 2 heads its too much for me daily. I eat other veggies though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w21r0T8MjJQ im 168 cm and about 144 pounds ri…

I wanted to document my transformation on here. Just started getting active again, this would be pretty much "normal" shape for me... I have probably never been much bigger than this, although the flash hides a lot of definition. Nonetheless, you get the idea. I will be using the next month to transition towards a mostly raw diet, and also transition away from marijuana smoking. I hope to stick with it for at least a year and see how much mass I can gain, if any. I think I am about as "ectomorph" as it gets, so... Without further ado, here's the foundation I'm working with...

I decided to cut my calories back to around 3000 and add in some cardio. My weight fluctuates a lot from day to day (week to week), sometimes 10 pounds or so in one day. So using the scale to monitor progress isn't even as reliable as it is for most people (where it's still not very reliable). So I'm going to use the before/after progress photo's to keep myself accountable. After my first week of cutting back my cals it was really tough to see my lifts stop progressing almost entirely. I've still managed to add in a rep or two here and there, but my heart kind of sinks every time I do a workout and don't see any measurable progress at all. I plan to cut through Dece…

Hey everybody, I haven't posted in a while, I've had alot of new changes in my life and I've been very busy lately. I wasnt able to compete in the battle for tidewater like I planned because the birth of my daughter came 5 weeks earlier then expected and it prevented me from having the funds. I also got a good job and I am about to switch gyms. My life is very different now, but I love it. I took the chance to start bulking up since I couldn't compete in the contest. Im working on a total Rebuild of my entire physique from the ground up. I'm currently 205 lbs., but I'm working on my goal weight of a lean 225 lbs. I haven't been good about updating my logs in the pas…

My, what a road it has been these past few years! Me at my low point circa late 2009, perpetually injured and just plain out of shape despite still doing some lifting http://veganessentials.com/images/RyanPics.jpg Forward to 2010, a much better time after lots of dieting and work to lose what fat I could http://veganessentials.com/images/Me2010.jpg Then, injuries stacked up again, went from around 225 lbs. in the photo above to about 242 lbs. and was about 18-20 lbs. from looking like I did in the first photo. No photos of that time, was just too depressed to bother. Now on to the current day! Lower back rehab complete, on the comeback trail with a better d…

I encounter some challenges with work, indeed I travel quite a lot for business and unless we have the luck to go to Indian or Asian restaurants it s hard to find good vegan food... I wouldnt even dare to suggest the vegetarian/vegan option (you should see the faces ) I manage to keep my work out routine wherever I go, can easily escape dinner to prepare my delicious vegan dinner in my hotel room or try vegan restaurants in town but lunches almost turns into fasting considering what I order or get on a plate Anyone facing such situations? any suggestions?

Hi guys, how are ya I should start by confessing I'm not a vegan (I hope you are all understanding). I am a strict vegetarian for ethical reasons but I do still eat eggs and a bit of cheese (but not milk or butter or things). This website however has still inspired me a lot. I have(/had) always been a very skinny guy. You know the type that constantly looks like a recovering junkie. Twiglet arms etc. And then when I gave up meat a lot of people started joking about me saying i was weak and pathetic. I work in construction so you know the type I mean. I really wanted to prove them wrong so although I had never worked out before, after stopped eating meat I decided to t…

Thanks to Ms. Chopps & Company for The Video Adds of Me. A few people are starting to add some new videos of me to YouTube and here are a couple of them. Every couple of days or so I will try and get on here to add links to a few more until I have covered them all. Much appreciated. These 2 video clips are from this past Summer which were both filmed to measure my progress shortly before the 2012 NPC Atlantic States Men’s Physique contest in New York. Thanks so much http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGOme4W9IbY http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff253/johnjquinlan/Screen%20Shots/MaleModelJohnQuinlanPhysiqueUpdate.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff253/j…

Some photos from this week. They will also serve as the "before photos" for my 2nd figure competition next Spring. First competition didn't go well...so I've bulked hard.... gained 20 lbs in 10 weeks. Right now I'm 10 lbs bigger than I peaked at for the last show and its just the beginning of hard training after a couple easy months to get my sleep back on track. Currently 140lbs. Gonna go to 150lbs over the next couple months and then start cutting. I do have my fallers and buckers certification. Didn't want to do the usual "this is me curling 5lb dumbbells" pictures. Wanted to show the practical uses of being a strong person. All photos done by my friend Adam Lo…

Well, I'm not as dedicated as I should be... bit lazy at times ...so here's a first pic.... ....thing is when my arms are by my side they look like pieces of string ...The laziness is that I haven't started to concentrate on pecs or shoulders (bones stick out on top of shoulders)...However, as I have seen some progress in my benching and bi/tri ceps...I think I have convinced myself to add shoulder presses, this week ...Do incline bench presses concentrate on pecs (cause I really don't like doing dumbell flys, so I'm tring to use something that I like doing already?? )

Here I am: http://i46.tinypic.com/2vnnww1.jpg That was over about 2 years on a vegetarian diet (details http://nelliscarlet.wordpress.com/2012/06/19/im-a-vegetarian-and-i-want-to-lose-weightbuild-muscle-what-the-fuck-do-i-eat/ ) with mainly strength training and low-impact cardio since I'm rocking a really tight IT band on my left leg and it hurts like hell to run/jump/do anything fun. I started up a vegetarian fitness and beauty blog since so many people kept asking me about my training and non animal-tested/cruelty-free makeup and beauty. I've recently become hi-raw vegan and feel SO much better than I did eating all that dairy and egg! I'm still a newb to GF-vegani…
