  1. Me and some other people from VF are talking about going. Would be nice to meet up there !
  2. What OS is he using? If it is windows I think he should go to controlpanel->system->device manager )or something similar, dont remember the exact name) and check if there are any error messages for the sound device. That could give a clue to what is the problem.
  3. I agree, anger as a source of motivation and energy can be good, but being angry when interacting with other people is usually not useful.
  4. I think the only reasonable thing to do is what has allready been suggested, go see a doctor.
  5. I think we should be happy that we're vegan and angry (preferably in a constructive way) about the fact that not everybody are vegan .
  6. I'd say the main point is not if the person saying such things look healthy or not, cause saying that all vegan diets are great for your health is simply not true. You can eat a healthy vegan diet as well as an unhealthy. Same about the weight control, saying that you will automatically be in control of your weight if you follow a vegan diet is not true. I dont think making generalisations like that is good for veganism, cause if somebody thinks that just going vegan will solve there problem, there is a big risk they will fail and drop out of veganism. And then of course they will start bad mouthing veganism . Personally I would rather say that a vegan diet can be just as healthy (or even healthier) than any other diet, and just as effective for weight control. On the other hand if people are saying that it is possible to be a great athlete on a vegan diet, it does of course help if they themselves are proof of that .
  7. Yes, given enough time it is realistic to gain muscle and losing fat while keeping bodwyeight fairly constant. Perhaps best bet is to switch between period with enough calories to gain muscle and periods of less calories concentrating on burning off extra fat if necessary. Of course both of those will require strength training. Also decent intake of protein will help in both cases.
  8. That would of course depend on if they want to more muscle or not... But I think even for a person who doesnt want any more muscle, doing strength training would be very important to keep the muscle they have. So I think alternative 1 would be unwise without including strength training. Regarding alternative 2, hoping that energy to grow the muscle would come from the fat would be quite optimistic, the body doesnt work like that. So I would say a combination of strength training and cardio would be the best, and adjusting calorie intake according to what weight the person want to land at.
  9. And on top of that they also have the help of proffesional trainers, dieticians and cooks.
  10. Good stuff! Looking forward to watching the alex classic !
  11. I havent heard of any zebra eating going on around here. Anyway if you are in stockholm and are looking for food there are quite a few places. Lao wai and Kokyo are the first ones I would visit. This is a good website for finding vegan stuff in stohckholm . If you are going to some other part of sweden hopefully some other member might know more .
  12. No, there is no reason at all why the total number of reps should remain constant. Quite commonly the total number of reps goes down as the weight increases.
  13. Thanks. It felt a bit harder than it looks .
  14. Heres a vid of me pulling a 180kg deadlift PB:
  15. I've had pretty good results with pistol squats in the past, so I would reccomend that. There is alson another type of one-legged squats which I have seen referred to as 'royal deadlift', where you bend one leg back at the knee and then squat down till the knee hit the ground. That I also used to to and found pretty nice, hits the backside of the legs a bit more. For back I would reccomend a chinup bar. For pressing, pushups working up to onehand pushups should be good. Onehand pushups are also good for core. Also, the reccomendation above about sandbag typ of implementations and odd object lifting are good. Anyway, good luck and have fun training .
  16. This is a very good place to look for information on how to perform various exercises. Keep in mind though that for many exercises, like squats and deadlifts, there are various 'correct' ways to do them which are suitable for different persons and different goals. Anyway I think exrx (the link above) is an excellent place to start. In my opinion one of the biggest advantages with training in a good gym is that you can ask people for advice regarding form. It's usually pretty hard to see for yourselves if you are doing the exercise completely correct.
  17. Unfortunately linköping is too far away for me to bring you any food . I dont know much about restaurants there, but I posted a question about it on another forum so with some luck I might be able to get back with some useful info. Falafel is usually not too hard to find, as long as you avoid yougurt sauce it should be ok. If you're desperate there is also the option of McDonalds, in sweden they have a vegan burger called McBean.
  18. Shit, I never would have guessed that. Better pack my bags then .
  19. That's the first of those tests that have actually been more or less spot on .
  20. And I agree with jono, give it more time and strike the same poses. Looking good so far though .
  21. Powercleans are my favourite, at least when I manage decent technique. I think they have helped put some mass on my traps and back .
