  1. As much as i want to burn P!ATD on a funeral pyre and piss on the ashes, that's awesome!!!! She was in "Who wants to be a Superhero?". Awesome!!!!! My girlfriend made fun of me for liking that show. Grr.... they're not pop punk...
  2. You should check out some of the vegan protein powders to see if you like those better. If you think you're already getting too much soy protein in your diet they have brown rice, pea, and hemp protein. And then there's the ever so famous vega which is pretty expensive but worth it for a once per lift day thing if you're on a budget. Your weight loss is crazy so you've obviously found something that works for you health wise. Since your hubbie has come a long ways, maybe he'll understand if you give veganism a try. If not don't risk your marriage or anything over it. That's a bit extreme.
  3. Haha crap you're repping my crazy huge max i did on my deadlift. Ahhhh i got lots of work to do. Crazy lifts man.
  4. I just enjoy the gloves because my calouses are less painful than they were. It generally helps with repping stuff where you're really holding weights longer than just one rep.
  5. Very cool. I've heard of this stuff before. However, i already have way too many pills right now. Hopefully when i start getting paid for gigs, i'll buy some of these to add to my collection of supplements.
  6. Free money is good but that's such a horrid infringement on personal freedoms it's rediculous. Speaking of which, my ass is about to be blacklisted. I'm starting up an SDS club at my school. I think it'd be funny to have police rade my messy dorm room. But if they took any of my crap(especially Darth Vader and my computer) i'd sue until my college expenses were paid for.
  7. Yea i don't know how i did it either. p.s. I know you've been super busy, but i never got a bonus pack. I'm thinking i may have given you wrong information. If you get a "return to sender thing" just PM me. If not it's lost in my schools mail room, and their will be hell to pay.
  8. My girlfriends doctor is pretty good like that. My girlfriend doesn't even take insulin and she's not even on a vegan diet yet. She says if we live together she'll glady be vegan for my sake. I'm in no hurry to convert her over. She's perfect the way she is(but i'm biased).
  9. I did a double serving of vega today because i had some leftover from my last tub. I'm uber gassy.
  10. Flex the muscles in the area you're testing. That usually does it. However, it can also be skin.
  11. I generally agree with what Jono says, but i use the new grips and absolutely love them. My hands still get calouses even with the gloves but it doesn't hurt my wrists at all.
  12. vegan essentials is good too if you're more in the midwest. I believe the shipping is a tad less if you wanna save some money.
  13. an 80% carb, 10% protein and 10% fat diet will reverse the effects of diabetes. I believe diabetics need to watch out for simple carbs, like refined grains and all that stuff.
  14. I'm saving the disco stuff for the weekend. Deadlifts(in KG) [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] PR TIME!!!! [email protected](PR) OR IS IT!!! [email protected] NEW PR!!!(that's 346.5 lbs for you America d00ds) This is my first time using my gloves with deadlifts and i think that helped me hit that PR. Rest of my lifts are in LBS. Backsquats 1x5@315 crap ROM 1x5@295 1x5@275 Good Mornings 3x8@135 Gonna up that weight next time. Lunges(with dumb bells) 3x8@40(per hand) I called it a day after that.
  15. I drink b12 forified rice milk and take a pill every other day or so. It's a one a day vitamin so i probably should take it every day, i just think it's overkill some days.
  16. AHHHh finally!!! I thought i was the only one who thinks that about PETA!! Speaking of which frosting free strawberry pop tarts are vegan.
  17. 1. July 6th 2006 2. Finding out that I could continue weightlifting without being cruel to animals or the environment made up my mind. Sites like this and others along with a few choice books really helped. 3. Not really. I think it starts interesting conversations for the most part. 4. The China Study helped me find out about the scientific aspect of a plant based diet. Sites like this helped me find out about the more human aspect and personal experiences. 5. My mom was right away and basically cooked me completely different meals. Now she's a vegan as well. 6. I've never been attacked probably because people think i'll break them in two. I've always been very calm in answering the usual "stupid" questions. I don't think they're stupid at all, it's just that not many people understand what exactly a vegan is. I'm always happy to answer questions politely. If they get snide, i get snide. My grandma was worried yet extremely knowledgeable about my choice. She even made me a huge pot of vegan chili when i went to visit her. Best damn vegan chili i've ever had!!! 7. I've dropped tons of fat off my body. I've also feel way more in tune with the world around me spiritually. I feel more healthy overall. I'm way more sensitive about the environment and animals. 8. Advantages- better health, better eating habits, less crap in my body, more endurance, healthier cleaner muscle growth, better sexual performance(i'm totally not kidding about this at all) Disadvantages- socially weird. Prevents me from eating out with my friends a lot. May make some people think i'm a nut job, but i don't want to know them anyway if they're so prejudice. 9. We're all skinny hippies. We don't get enough protein. We all like PETA and blow up meat packing plants in our spare time. 10. Well, we're all vegan, but we're all unique people. Some of us may be raw foodists, i believe one of the forum members eats a diet much like that of a mountain gorilla, some of us are fruitarians. I wouldn't say we're different types, but we're all definitely unique. Hope this helps!!!
  18. Well I had the cross so i was a christian monk(unfortunately)
  19. Yea, i've heard horror stories about the Fine Arts caf their. Mine is damn good, except today both vegan options had egg/cheese in them which made me angry so i ate tons of veggies fruit and rice. Felt good but kinda boring taste wise.
  20. From what i understand you're going to need a little fat on you to power muscle growth. I have plenty of fat but it's slowly changing over into muscle. If you're gaining muscle you will gain weight. I measure my progress of fat loss to muscle growth by seeing if people say "wow you've lost weight" and then watching my PRs and reps go up while lifting. I also make sure my closes fit better around the waist but a little tighter in the arms and shoulders area. It's not really an exact science but if i can see and feel progress that's good enough for me. Jonathan and Buzz(i believe he is on this forum as well) are both big time bulkers/strongmen guys so hopefully they can help out. It really is all about getting lots of calories. It seems like you're generally a pretty fit guy with a low body fat % so i wouldn't worry too much about eating too poorly. Just try and keep out the BS carbs. White flour will be the end of me.
  21. I really want to march into Burger King corporate offices and clean and press some big wigs desk over my head while wearing a vegan fitness shirt. Or find that fat bastard who wrote that commercial and give him a kind talking to follwed by some squats and benching. NO flexing though, my tummy needs some work.
  22. But the majority of people will just think some idiot crapped all over the bathroom. I'm all for defacing corporate property but not if it's just going to piss people off and mike life shit(no pun intended) for the average working man.
  23. Well, i lost 2 logs that i did, basically they were 2 days of what i did today... I got some new grip gloves(newgrip.com) so i tested these bad boys out today. Shrugs 1x7@315 2x8@315 First one felt like i was slipping but it's just how the bar sits in my hand now. I love these damn gloves. Wrists feel great. Close bench 1x6@155 1x5@170 1x4@175 Reg bench 1x5@185 1x5@200 Holy crap these gloves are unbelievable. I felt little to no fatigue at all. I should've done push press today i was feeling amazing. Seated Row 3x6@180 Tommorow i'm going to do some Ab/biceps/shoulder work at high reps. Probably going to hit the stationary bike as well seeing that my knees/shins don't like running. Hopefully i can get a bike up here next semester to i can start training for my 60 mile bike ride next fall.
