He says he was vegan for 6 years, strange that he would go back to eating meat. He is selling an E-Book, the 'Vegan Mass Gain System':

I've got the solution to the Vegan Mass Gain issue - train harder and eat more!

Now, if everyone will please PayPal me $39.95 for this fantastic advice, I can call it a day

All of a sudden you sound like a few "experts" in the vegan nutrition industry....perhaps you are selling yourself short at that price when you could offer a workshop on training more and eating more for well over $1000 dollars

In all honesty, I think it goes back to basics. Training hard with compound exercises and eating lots and being consistent with that program allowing adaptation to occur and improvement that follows as a result.

This approach has worked for me. I probably sound like I'm in love with myself, but this is just an example.... I've been training since January, but up until June all I did was swim and use resistance bands. I'm not sure how much I've gained since June, but at the beginning of the year I was around 70 kg, maybe a little less. I now weigh 80 kg or just over, depending on the day.

The majority of my weight gain has come in the last 6 months and I put it down to eating lots of food, drinking lots of water, sleeping 8+ hours each night and being consistent with compound exercises like squat, deadlift, clean and press, bench press, overhead press, pull-ups, push-ups, dips etc...

I'm not saying I've never done a bicep curl or used a machine, but I've used those exercises I mentioned as the basis for my routines.

That is the exact recipe for success and so many people ignore it (including myself at times).

Compound exercises

Lots of food

Adequate rest

Lots of fluids

Effort, intensity, determination, dedication, persistence and positive outlook

It all adds up to positive progress and makes improvements and success possible.

It's so easy and so many of us just don't follow the rules all the time. When we do, we adapt and improve. When we don't we stay complacent or move backwards.

I'm glad you've been applying yourself and have seen results because of it. Good on ya!

+1

I do all of those and am constantly making great gains.Since joining this forum, & going from vegetarian to vegan, because of you guys on here, I have gained more than I ever did before. The only weeks I dont gain weight is when I am stressed from work, & when I dont get enough sleep.

I dont really see that there is a vegan mass gain issue.

Lots of food, but not too much food! I can only work off about 2500 cals a day, so eating 3500 is just gonna put on fat for me. Hell, look at Octo, he barely eats but he is a big dude...

This is really quite individual based on type and amount of activity, and size. At 2500 I lose weight fast! At 3500 I might be lucky to put on a pound every few months. Early this fall I gained 5+kg of muscle in as many weeks, all it took was 4 days a week of heavy(for me) compound lifting and 4000-5000 kcals a day. No noticeable fat gain either. Anyways a bit of fat never hurt anyone, in a lot of cases I'd say it can help!

Ah but have you ever been overweight? It's much harder to keep OFF pounds if you have been overweight before than to eat MORE food...

Nope I haven't. But I guess it depends on what you mean by harder. Yes it can take a lot willpower and dedication to keep calories low, but it the same can be said for bulking. Eating when your not hungry is no picnic. In terms of time and money it's a lot easier to eat less rather then more. Eating twice what a normal person does, means a lot of time and money is spent on food. Dieting means less time and money spend on food. Therefore easier!

this was kinda puzzling, as i have always evisioned me the way i want to be... seeing myself that way NOW.

some spiritual books, etc. would say it is manifesting. i dunno, that's what have done in my life since i was a kid.

live the life you want now and make it happen, i guess you'd say.

so looking at someone else's build and bone structure, and even drive is a bit different... yet kinda cool.

thanks for putting out there to look at something in a way different than i'm accustomed

really had to think about it...

when i was a teen and got into a fitness kick that accompanied athletics (i was a pro bowler & while that may not seem physical, keep in mind i had to be able to roll a 16 pound full-figertip ball, which is maximum weight, all day every day in competition, often against much larger and stronger men.) i ordered muscle and fitness magazine. my routine was more about weights and strength.

my fave of all time - rachel mclish. perhaps 'cause she had a background in dancing, which made her appear elegant. as a life-long dancer, that appealed to me.

now, i'm loving my yoga!

so i like strong, definition, yet long lean lines...

this is a friend and fitness model who i think is kickin' it.
