  1. Well I didn't see a thread like this in the Thanksgiving day when millions of turkeys were slaughtered. And that goat was eaten by people who need that meat. Turkeys are eaten by people who are: 1.) Already obese (well most of them) 2.) Who live in a rich country in which you could just pick vegetarian alternative
  2. Good thing xjohanx isn't on TV yet. Teen pregnancies would go sky high. (because he's so hot)
  3. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8869 Meh, it's fine without mixing it with anything. Also, I hope everyone who uses pea protein also eats food. Everyone should get most of their protein from food, not supplements.
  4. Americans celebrate an ordinary day by slaughtering millions of animals. This might come as a shock to many, but Barack isn't a vegan and I bet many animals has been and will be slaughtered for his food. I think it's much more fair for people to see the animal dying they are eating afterwards. In the western countries meat usually doesn't look like it came from an animal at all.
  5. Cool! I didn't know there are vegans in the EU parliament! Jens FTW! DUDE! Seems like a great guy! Tue 4th July! Celebrating the elections in the U.S. with some lifting! - Bent-over row, barbell: 8 + 7 + 8 + 7 @ 94kg (not too pretty but hey, everybody wanna be a bodybuilder but don’t nobody wanna lift heavy a$$ weights!) - Shrugs, barbell: 12 + 12 + 12 @ 94kg I also contributed to an anti-doping chat today and hopefully got some points through. I also talked a lot about veganism and ppl took it really well!

    I'm back!

Welcome back! Now back to training your back, eh?
  7. Wow, the amount of comments! @ johanx: Beach season 2010 is 19 months away. @ HCPG: Yes I'm serious about xkillerx, he's learning Finnish all the time so that he can move here with Hanna who he met in Vegan Fitness Week! @ sosso: thanks for the compliment and for the info, I'll look it up at VF @ Vegan Joe: thanks! Still have a lot to learn with teh "V" back! :/ @ BodhiDave85: I think I'll gain another 40 pounds of muscle and THEN lose the spare tyre! THEN I will be set. @ HCPG again: That's right! Here's my plan: 1.) Get big, like ridiculously big. 2.) Lose fat AFTER becoming ridiculously big. 3.) ??????????????? 4.) PROFIT! @ xphilx: The problem here is that when I started training I didn't know the poses, nor I could do them. I'll try to look up for a pic of front double biceps though. @ xjohanx: More pics coming soon. And I bet HCPG knows how male human being works. I just don't want to lose the fat yet since cutting would pause my muscular development. @ IYM: Thanks mate! Just wait for a year more and I'll be big as a side-by-side refrigerator!

    Hello!

Welcome! I guess Duncan Idaho comes from the Dune? A great film! We don't have too much ppl from Bulgaria, great to have you here! Hopefully you'll have as much fun and information from this forum as I do! Remember to take pics of your progress! Also, it would be nice to know more about your martial arts history, there are loads of ppl who have been practicing martial arts.
  9. HCPG, it's so great I have been a motivator for you! Loves it! Dr.Pink, that's not David Bowie, it's xkillerx from VF, he's a great guy and ALSO moving to Finland from Serbia!!! SO COOL! btw... sosso, where did you find those pics? I haven't seen them in Finnish forums!!! o_O OK ppl.. I'll soon have ONE YEAR of training behind! A WHOLE year! I'll be posting some results with comparison pics, but just to let you know what kind of stuff you can wait for, here's my results for 10 and ½ months. http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk250/tuc_finland/15jan-1nov2008.jpg Do you think I have made any progress? edit: ALSO NOW THIS THREAD HAS OVER 10 000 VIEWS! THANKS ROBERT FOR CREATING THIS WONDERFUL FORUM!!!
  10. Thanks xjohanx! I'll be taking even more soon! And talking about the EU, remember that EU drives REALLY strong climate and environmental policy in the whole EU, as well as production animal control. EU is good for nature and animals. They even banned Brazilian beef because there aren't standards which prove that animals aren't tortured. I'm your man, well we still lack Sweden when it comes to animal rights and vegetarianism... but anyway, I'm really glad we have a STRONG party which is both sensible and pro-vegetarian as well as environmentally ahead others! And by voting for the Greens here in Finland you can make a difference in politics and you don't have to choose from 2 parties which are both f'd up. Mon 3rd November 2h 15min bboying, after that just some small things since I'm still recovering from Saturday's squatting (dunno why ) - Bench press, barbell: warm up 5 @ 62kg, then 1 @ 92kg -> felt heavy, no 100kg today -> 8 + 6 + 7 @ 76kg (weak) - Standing tricep extensions, dumbbell: warm up 13 @ 20,4kg, then 7 + 10 + 10 @ 25,4kg (56lbs)
  11. Welcome, Ben! I think you'll be able to get your routine back in no time, muscle memory works really well. Also, nice avatar!
  12. Welcome, chrysalis! When I read this: ...I thought you should seriously post some pics.

    Hey all!

Welcome! I think easiest way to bulk is to start chewing nuts EVERYWHERE! Especially cashew nuts, they are SOOO good and you'll get 600 kcal from just 100 grams of them. Also, start preparing your food by yourself and use ridiculous amounts of rapeseed oil. You'll get loads of omega 3's and calories. And remember to eat a lot, all the time... and concentrate on everything that has loads of calories!
  14. Welcome, Charli! Yep, a nurse should know! You can have a huge influence in people you take care of. Make sure to be and look as healthy as possible and remember to tell your patients you're a vegan.

    Back!

Welcome back! Now STICK TO IT! GO GO GO, WORK OUT! YOU CAN DO IT!
  16. Welcome! I was 26 when I started and I was about the same size as you. I'm sure you can do wonders in just one years if you just stick to eating a LOT and training 3-4 times a week. I actually thought I have a lousy "canvas" but I guess it's ok. Eating properly can change your whole appearance! What's the subject of your doctoral thesis, btw?
  17. Welcome Jamie! - I've been a vegan for about 2½ years. - My favorite herb is basil too. - I'm finishing my master's degree at Turku School of Economics. - Max weight I've ever deadlifted is 384 lbs. - I can't beat Super Mario without cheating. You rule! - I want to see pics of those booty shorts.
  18. I think it's great. Might not be that fashionable but cool whatsoever.
  19. Wed 29th October 1h 45min bboying Sat 1st November - Bench press, barbell: warm up @ 50kg, then 8 + 6 + 5 @ 82kg - Deep squat, barbell: warm up @ 50kg, then 7 + 7 + 7 @ 82kg - Ben-over rows, barbell: 11 + 11 + 11 @ 84kg - Bicep curls, curl bar: 6 + 5 @ 50kg, 10 @ 40kg
  20. I think not approving of homosexual behavior is inappropriate behavior. It's not an opinion, it's just the same as hating people for their religion, skin color or hair color. But unfortunately hating sexual minorities isn't a crime (yet) whereas racism is.
  21. Tue 28th October - Deadlifts, barbell: warm up @ 84kg, then 1 @ 122kg, 1 @ 164kg, 1 @ 174,4kg, 3 @ 152,4kg - Shrugs, barbell: 3 x 6 @ 122kg (this also included 3 x 1 @ 122kg deadlifts ) Personal best once again. Last pb in dl was 172kg.
  22. Can the mods please put all this annoying garbage about Obama to one topic called "Vegan Joe's opinion on Barack Obama" or something like that. I am really pissed off about the huge number of threads he is creating. I really think you should consider doing the same thing VF did to Vegan Joe if he doesn't stop creating shitloads of threads about the same subject over, over and over again. JUST COUNT THE NUMBER OF THREADS ABOUT BARACK/DEMOCRATS/PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS in Animal Rights/News/Politics! It's a cancer that keeps on growing. And it's killing VBB&F if you don't fight it.
  23. Are they afraid of you? I would, if someone, who had as big arms like yours would approach me with a flyer. What flyers you were sharing? We mostly shared those flyers to mailboxes, that explains the running. I ran for city council of Turku from the Green party. Here's my flyer: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk250/tuc_finland/Tuukan_sikahieno_flaikku.jpg and here's an ad for the internet: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk250/tuc_finland/mauttomin_vaalimainos_ikina.jpg The text says: Kids to the gym and protein to vegetarian food in schools I got 149 votes, I almost got through as a vice counselor (was the first one who didn't got through from the Green party). My gf did even better and she's now a vice counselor. With the votes I got I will be getting seats in some boards, which is great. I got 6th largest number of votes from all the Green men here in Turku and 2nd largest number of votes of men below 30 years. Unfortunately, it's really hard to get through as a man from the list of the Green party since most people who vote for the Greens vote for women only. My themes were pretty much pro-vegetarian which obviously means that my voters are great people. The Green party, which is pro-vegetarian became the THIRD largest party in my home city, Turku, with 15,9 % support. Nationwide, we have 3 large parties (National Coalition = like Republicans but way more left, The Center Party = hicks, SDP = Social Democratic Party) who all have like 20 % support. In the future, the Green party will be among the large 3 large ones since most of the young people vote for the Greens or National Coalition. Also, in the capital of Finland, Helsinki, the Greens took a huge win and became the SECOND largest party! Nationwide we now have 9 % support.
  24. Mon 20th October 2h 15min bboying Wed 22nd October 1h 45min bboying Thu 23rd October 4 hours walking and running, sharing flyers. Mon 27th October 2h 15min bboying - Bench press, barbell: warm up @ 50kg, then 12 @ 70kg, 9 + 7 @ 76kg - Hang power clean, barbell: a couple of sets @ 53kg, reps less than 10 per set. Also some clean & presses with same weights. - Bicep curls, curl bar: 5 @ 50kg, then 11 + 10 @ 40kg - Bent-over rows, barbell: 10 + 8 + 10 @ 84kg
  25. Holy guacamole! That's a lot! How long have you been benching? I don't think you achieve something like that in a year or two.
