  1. Unbelievable loss 3-4 in extra time in the first round of the playoffs...ugh. I think I need a lesson on shot fakes and cutting. Anyone know of any good online soccer training vids? Got these bcaa amino hd 1000 supplements but I cant see if they are vegan and I heard after I got them that some are made from animal hair. Anyone know this info? Heard of the brand Diet Standards?
  2. Outstanding progress. Got to get in that vegan chocolate and vegan pizza game, I never thought it until I tried it but some of the stuff out there is better than the dairy versions.
  3. Yeah, nice progress. You should keep a fitness journal here with us so others can steal from your techniques that are obviously working well for you.
  4. Sorry if I came across as a jerk, I just re-read what I wrote. Please forgive the lazy statement. I do think packing healthy foods so you have good options around can help with giving into junk food cravings though.
  5. Hi Samantha, welcome to the community here! I've been to Edinborough (but i cant spell it). It was amazing. My sister got frightened to death when she heard a dog that no one else heard in the under the castle ghost tour, and the guide said later that many people often see a ghost dog down there haha. I would search some key words using the search button in the upper right hand corner to see what has been discussed before related to what you are interested in like alternative protein sources to eggs.
  6. Rad! Boarder collies are the best i grew up with them. Never had a great Dane but they seem cool.
  7. Sick, you sound very motivated and for excellent reasons. I'll check out your blog too.
  8. Hi, great to have you join us! I'm in NYC too and close to your age. I work out regularly but am not a body builder and don't plan on becoming one. You sound like you're seriously into fitness. -Dylan
  9. Well you've lost a lot of chest hair. JK, definitely can see some progress already, keep pushing!
  10. Use the search button in the upper right hand corner to see what people have discussed previously about the use of creatine.
  11. Hahaha its funny what good shape people can get into when they are unemployed and have more time to workout, damn I remember some of the most cut ive ever been was during unemployment.
  12. The handing walking is dope. I also thought the what you eat in a day was interesting.
  13. Nice journal! Have you noticed yoga helping with sports like bouldering?
  14. Nice there are veg egg subsitutes that are worth trying, there is a brand called veggs that is good.

    Hey all!

Nice, you power lifters are badass. Much respect. I met a female power lifter at the Seed festival last week. Such an interesting sport and you all work hard. Welcome to the forum!

How have things been going for you so far with the plant based diet and the workouts?
  18. Congrats! I can tell its where you want to be as well which is great.
  19. So what do you mean by you kind of do p90x? My advice is keep reading and also find what motivates you and put your effort into that. Have you read Robert Cheeke's book or any of Brendan Brazier's books yet?
  20. You are only doing abs/core once a week and no cardio. Its tough to lose belly fat, you have to target that area more. I would do more core work like burpies, crunches, planks, crawls, etc

    Hi All

Welcome, 3/4 of a year, nice your 1 year is just around the corner. I dont know what ocean ski paddling is so I will look it up right now. CHeers, -Dylan
  22. Hi Jim and welcome, I'm sure if youve been taking a look around this site you are already getting a wealth of knowledge. I recommend Brendan Brazier's books and Robert Cheeke's book as well.
  23. Good question. I haven't added them up, so I'm not sure. In general, a breakdown of caloric intake from certain foods looks like this: “Healthy Foods” Salad = 100 calories per pound Vegetables = 200 calories per pound Fruits = 300 calories per pound Starches (potatoes, rice, beans) = 500 calories per pound Nuts and seeds = 2,000-2,500 calories per pound “Popular Foods” Cheese = 1,700 calories per pound Chocolate = 1,800 calories per pound Potato chips/fries = 2,500 calories per pound Ice Cream = 3,000 calories per pound Oil (pure fat) = 4,000 calories per pound Therefore, looking at the specific foods like fruit or lentil soup can give us some sort of ballpark figure based on the quantity we consume with our best guess as to how that volume relates to pounds. Hope that helps a little. - Robert Cheeke -- Author of the Amazon.com Best-Selling Book Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness
