Anyone ever tried to make protein bars on her/his own? Me and some of my friends experimented with some stuff lately but we never got anything really tasty out of it. Yesterday we just put some protein powder into a vegan snickers recipe which turned out as awesome concerning the taste but those are obviously too high in fat and carbs for a daily snack. It would be nice if you could share your recipes.

Has anyone tried one of the below? 2 scoops of protein powder 2 tablespoons peanut butter milk or water Mix all ingredients together in a small glass bowl. If the resulting mixture is too thick add a couple drops of milk or water to loosen it up until it reaches your desired consistency. Since it is already in a glass bowl, microwave on high for 30-45 seconds. Mixture should come out to a cake/brownie like consistency. Eat. OR 8 Scoops protein powder 3 Cups Oats 1 Package Sugar Free Fat Free Pudding 2 Cups Milk Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes) use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or meta…

I've been making this protein fudge for a while now, I adapted it from a recipe I once found that used whey protein and a lot of oatmeal amongst other things I didn't want to use- so essentially it is nothing like that one, it just kind of spurred the idea. There are a lot of different ingredients I have tried but I'll just write the basic one I use. 50g Protein powder - I originally used NitroFusion but SunWarrior is a lot nicer 25g Cocoa powder 25g Almond Meal 15g Dessicated coconut 2 Tablespoons ABC Spread (Almond, Brazil, Cashew) Almond butter would do, I have since started using the Chocolate Coconut Butter Basically just mix the dry ingredients together in a b…

I guess I'll put this in the recipe thread.... so having spent way too much than I would like on protein powders, i was thinking; using the example brown rice protein. Surely it cannot be powdered brown rice (wholefood) minus the fibre (and somehow fat) right? That would make the assumption that the carbs are the fibre and the fat, i dont know how that is extracted. So my question is does anyone know how protein powder is made and/or have a recipe to make their own protein powder? Coming from wholefood sources, I imagine vegan protein powder, soy, pea, hemp, brown rice powders would be easier to make than say whey powder.

I have found my favorite things to put in a protein shake. First I put some new rice juice which i bought at a korean market, but I bet it is available at most asian markets. Then some soymilk. The liquids thus far come up to about 200 ml. Then water up to about 500 ml. Then my serving of protein powder and creatine. You all probably know the rest.

This weekend I'm going to attempt to bake some protien powder choco-chip cookies -- at the request of my husband. My regular choco chip recipe calls for 2 1/4 cups flour so I'm going to use 1 cup protien powder with 1 1/4 cups flour instead. UNLESS, someone here has a better suggestion. ??? I'm also going to try veganmadre's white garlic sauce on pizza, if I can find some vegan mozz cheeze.

I have some pumpkin pie mix here and the directions on the back call for 3/4 C evaporated milk and 2 eggs to make the filling. Anyone know what to sub? 1/2 the amount of dehydrated milk in soymilk and maybe 2 TBSP baking powder?

I have made this pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas the past couple of years, and it's always very good. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Have ready one 9" unbaked pastry crust. Blend in blender: 2 cups solid packed canned pumpkin 1 cup non-dairy milk (pref. a rich soy milk) 3/4 cup raw sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 Tbsp molasses 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp EACH ground ginger, nutmeg, and salt 1/4 tsp ground allspice or cloves Pour the filling into the pastry and bake 60 minutes, covering the edges with foil if the begin to brown too quickly. Cool on a rack, then refrigerate overnight before serving. I always use rice milk because my mom is all…

1/2 15oz can pumpkin 2 T flaxseed, ground 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup ice cubes 1/4 t cinnamon 1/8 t nutmeg Sweetener as desired (I use 1/8t Stevia, I like it sweet like pumpkin pie) Put the ground flax and water in a blender and pulse until the mixture thickens considerably. Add all the rest of the ingredients and blend until ice is thoroughly ground. You can cut the flax in half to reduce the fat, but cut the water in half at the same time. You may also add protein powder, but more water will of course be needed unless you like your pudding thick. Any fruit you desire could also be added as long as it won't taste ing.

Here's a recipe I came up with that I really enjoy. If you do it right, it's almost like soft-serve ice cream. You should experiment to find the combination that works best for you. 1. Peel and slice one medium to large banana and freeze overnight. 2. Pour 8 ounces of almond milk into a blender. 3. Add 2 tablespoons of hemp powder. 4. Add the frozen banana slices. 5. Add about 5 ounces of mixed berries. I like a mix of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. The berries should be really really cold or partially frozen. 6. Mix it up with a spoon. 7. Blend on low speed. You may have to start and stop a few times and stir it up with a spoon in…

Has anyone tried baking cookies with some of the flour replaced with protein powder? Does this work? I would like to try it, but if it's going to be a total disaster then I would rather not waste the time/ingredients. I love baked goods, but I hate how low the protein is...

I've been making this lately and it's really quick and tasty. Dice cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers (red or yellow). Combine all with some lemon juice, salt and parsley. And then simply stuff it in a whole wheat pita with hummus and some garbanzo beans (i wash the canned ones). It's really easy to make and can get in a lot of vegetables and beans.

Hey! Check out my blog: it's got a bunch of vegan - and mostly raw - recipes to help you get or maintain the body you love. A lot of the recipes are desserts, and you can easily add your fave protein powder to them. The base for a lot of the recipes is nuts, dates and coconut oil - all excellent foods for bulking up and/or staying lean. It's an easy way to get that extra hit of protein for regeneration/growth. Plus, everybody needs some raw food in their diet anyways, bb or not. Fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds are the ultimate foods to build high quality muscle fast! Plus, you can hear me rant about my raw vegan life and all it's ups and downs. Here t'is: http://raw…

I am getting so lazy during the summer that I came up with this really easy seiten recipe that my kids eat like popcorn. 2 boxes of vegetable broth (2 quarts of broth) in a pot that is larger on the bottom than its sides (wide casserole dish made for the stove- I have a Le Crueset skillet with a top). Get the broth boiling, then lower the flame to simmering. Do not have bubbles in the broth when you drop the pieces in. The boiling action makes the dough turn into soggy seiten instead of a chewy tight texture. One box of vital wheat gluten (Arrowhead Mills box) 1/2 cup of KAL nutritional yeast 1 tablespoon of salt 1 tablespoon of wheat bran Put in a food mill (mine…
